      Thanks for checking out the video! I’m glad you found this helpful and hope it helps others too! It’s great because it’s so easy to do and gives more options on dealing with contraband. I’m just hoarding mine at The Lodge now like a space pirate 😆.

    I purchased a shielded cargo for my ship, but I found out that it's not 100% effective, because I still randomly got caught. Your tip is 100% effective, thanks.

    You can just go to the Wolf System to sell it; no scan

    • @Wally17.
      @Wally17.  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes, that would work if you only want to sell it. But if you’re far away and depending on your ship have to slipspace jump multiple places first, you could end up jumping somewhere where your ship gets scanned. Also I’m not sure but I was selling regular items there and it seems the Trade Authority doesn’t pay as much for things as elsewhere? I could be wrong though.
      This method allows for options on where to sell as well as being able to travel about carefree with contraband through star systems. Or you can use it to hoard the contraband in your safe in The Lodge like a space pirate 😆. I’m not sure where is the best place to sell it yet and I’m also not sure why the Trade Authority wants to pay so much less than the listed value.

      Everything is buyed for fracture of listed price that how its made really, contrabands sells for significantly more anyway

    im sure most of you know this but if you do get arrested and all stolen items taken they will all be in the box behind were you respawn after jail.

    nice tip but were do you sell it in alpha centauri ?

    • @BB_usmc
      @BB_usmc ปีที่แล้ว

      If you sell it at the "Den" located on the "Wolf" system, you will not need this trick. The problem with selling it there, is the vendor only has $11,000 and my contraband is worth way more, and I don't think any of the traders buy contraband at Alpha Centauri, but I could be wrong. I'm going to try this trick at "Neon".

    • @Wally17.
      @Wally17.  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can sell it at the Trade Authority. There’s a Trade Authority located in The Well in New Atlantis on Jemison. Any Trade Authority you come across will buy contraband.

      I was happy this worked when I was testing my theory about smuggling and figured this out. There’s no need to even worry about spending credits for shielded cargo bays and scan jammers when you can just do this and it’s foolproof.

    Is this relevant to all major star systems or i mean planest tht scan u upon arrival

    This does not seem to work if you have contraband from a mission as it refuses you to move it from cargo hold.

    • @Wally17.
      @Wally17.  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it will only work with contraband you find and pick up. Any contraband that’s automatically assigned to you that can’t be removed from your inventory due to a quest will need the cargo shielding.

      Shit...found this out the hard way and now i have to figure out how to smuggle it without getting caught....i have the mantis ship that has shielded capacity of 160 but even with that, i still get detected..any tips on that??

    • @Wally17.
      @Wally17.  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s cargo that was put in your inventory by a quest and can’t be removed, then your best bet is to save before entering the star system and reload your save as needed until the RNG lets the game not catch you with contraband. But this would only potentially work if you have some shielding of course, as you said you do.

    • @wolfboy20
      @wolfboy20 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Wally17. Ah ok i gotcha but the issue is that the chance to detect is still at 0 even while using the mantis ship...do i need a shield or something as well?

    • @Wally17.
      @Wally17.  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s saying the chance to evade detection is 0% you’re probably just going to have to get caught.
      But here’s a thought. Outposts you build allow you to have a landing pad where you can change out your ship or use the ship builder. I’m thinking you could use that to switch to another ship that has more shielding, or rather upgrade the Mantis’s ship shielding, and then try bringing the cargo through scanning.
