Jason, you are one of my greatest influences from growing up in Nashville! You have brought so much joy, fun, inspiration and your fire still shines. Thank you for this. This is the sad tale of what's happening everywhere. I along with my friends will never forget watching you climb up that billboard at that outdoor show at Cat's on West End. THAT WAS THE BEST!
Jason as someone that started clubbing in Scorchers Heyday and has seen the city change so much (happening all over-Atlanta too!) This really got me and I appreciate this song/video! The shot of you at the end paying at a Parking kiosk. just perfect. Here's to the golden memories we're lucky to have (and the institutions that have survived)!
I was a country western disc jockey during the 80s. I worked 3 stations during the time and did my best to get Jason & The Scorchers into the play rotation, BUT, my program directors and station managers frowned upon my efforts... actually "frowned" might be an understatement.
I grew up in Nashville and went to the old Father Ryan on Ellison Place. So much that made Nashville unique and special is long gone. This song and video really nails that. I distinctly remember seeing Porter Wagner in rhinestones walking around Rivergate. Glad Jason tries to carry on the spirit of that.
Amazing how much it's changed just since 2021..... Moved here in 85 and downtown was just the Ryman, Tootsies, The Boot Barn and Acme Farm Supply along with all the sketchy adult stores.
Great, poignant song. Same happening to every town everywhere. Everything that made a town individual and special has been lost to the corporate soulless. Same shops and stores, same coffee shops, same restaurants, in every town and city the world over. They all look, sound, smell, taste and feel the same.
Jason sounds like he did in the 80's. Awesome. God Bless You and your Family, Jason.

Really too bad that they are tearing old Nashville down.
