It's fun to have new challenges and seeing what the ships can do and also test other ships who end up changing the way I play. Usually I'm a brawler but sometimes I do take out a cruiser to work on other tactics. The thing is I am feeling the heat. HE is so on for the npcies. How do I go out and lead when npcies are burning the crap out of my ships. Mine u not in a German or Italian ship, although it is happening. Usually I stay alongside raptor or ruan. But with ruan a Kremlin isn't gonna make it with ruan when the Hannover is marking u and one shots you. So do I stay angled and saying this because people don't usually help to escort. So what tactics should I be using in lesser tanky ships.
Hey as far as tactics with less tanky ships, the bots are somewhat one dimensional if you understand how they work. 1) For example, if they sit you on fire, the cruisers and battleship bots switch to Armor Piercing. So either DCP the fire or make sure you are angled so you do not take a lot of damage if you cannot put the fire out. 2) Pay attention to your positioning in relation to the bots. They will focus on whatever player is closest/spotted (most of the time, a few bots in various ops have different programing), so you may have times you need to back off and have your friendly players help in the tanking. As in just move in behind them so the so they are closest to the bots now, you do not have to tell them, just do it xD 3) A lot of the IJN and German ships have greater penetration values with HE. Two Harugumos yoinked me in a Salem as an example despite having 3/4 health and a super heal going. Taking them bow on would have been wiser from their position so they could not get all the turrets firing at me. Just try to observe what is happening to you and change your positioning to what you think would be better. Naturally with Ruan you want to tank the damage if no other friendlies are guarding him in being between the enemy bots and Ruan, so sometimes damage you take here can be unavoidable unless you/team allow Ruan to die xD Best Regards, FLT
I'm really liking high tier ops. I just wish people would play the objective, I lose about 1 in 4 because either people just underestimate the bots, or because they treat the op as if it's a random and they just go off and fight the bots. I had a 660K game in GK that ended in a loss, and the last 4 minutes I was the only player left in the game. 😂 I wonder if they've also fixed the money bug?
Aegis in particular is notorious for this. Whenever I am a DD or a torp cruiser like Jinan, I like going north because you can deal with the crossfire quickly and also get into position to deal the BB spawns. Playing for the long game is what I am looking for. Yet, I am constantly getting blaming for "hiding" when all I am doing is helping to mitigate damage to the team so they can save their hp for when they need it most at the final stretch of the operation.
@@zlpatriot11 You are absolutely right, Aegis is the worst. I like the map/op but most players have died by the time you turn the transport around. PTFO.
@@AllAhabNoMoby The op doesn't feel any different prior to high tier other than just making sure to get angles for crossfires, focusing priority targets, and especially positioning. Playing for the long game is my main goal.
@@zlpatriot11 Well they are different. The bots aim better, they have way more HP. But I also think there's a lot of players who haven't played the ops before who are just running around like headless chickens. 😂
