    I saw these at the hockey shop a few weeks ago but didn't bother trying it (there of course), because of how I thought it would be, which is exactly how it was.

    I know you can't buy and test 10 (or more) of each stick ESPECIALLY since you finance the reviews yourself. I also understand that a stick blowing up within 5 minutes is not a good sign. However, since your sample size is so low, do you feel comfortable actually making that one of your evaluation criteria. I think you should definitely mention it, but is it really worth putting it into your composite score? The other parts of your review are based on you ( a relative constant) over a relatively long period (not like five minutes of noodling around on the ice) so your reviews will provide a relatively consistent analysis methodology with information that is useful for me in choosing sticks and for that I thank you!

    • @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews
      @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When it comes to durability I usually pre fatigue a stick my first games in warm up. Heavy slappers. Any stick with a durability issue will fail quickly with this type of torture. The fact that it was this quick tells me it vs t take that style of shooting long after. Could it be a single one off? Maybe but it warrants the mention because of how I use and tests sticks is different than someone buying this to just play with it games as they go. I think it’s important because so far in comparison the ft6 pro has gone through the same and hasn’t failed

    I was an Easton guy until they got bought out. Loved their sticks. I hesitantly made the switch to Bauer knowing they still aren’t a stick company yet in my eyes. I grew up with koho and Easton and at the time bauer was mostly a skate and protective gear company. Started with the 2Npro, broke 3-4 of them within a year all in identical spots at the heal of the blade. Not based on something a stick should break like a heavy slash or something but on simple snap shots. Switched to low kick and went with the hyperlite with the elliptical taper similar to my old Easton stealth, broke 3 more also at this identical heal point showing that the tech of the blade fusion is similar through the entire Bauer line regardless of the difference in taper. My last one breaking at only 2 weeks. Fun fact Pure Hockey stick warranty isn’t limited to Bauer sticks so as much as I never wanted to jump off the Bauer wagon I made the switch to the equivalent CCM trigger 7 pro. It’s only been 3 month but so far this stick feels much more durable with similar performance. I just can’t validate buying expensive sticks with an inherent built in DEFECT anymore. Sorry Bauer, until some demonstrates there is new tech that is more durable I can’t buy these anymore. 7 consecutive sticks breaking at an identical point shows there is a clear flaw. The performance and weight isn’t worth the lack of durability unless you’re a pro and getting these sticks for free

    • @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews
      @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. The hyperlite line continues to have durability challenges. The trigger 7 pro is better but not much more. The new 8 ft6, and Asv I have heard are lighter and have better durability now. Ccm seems to have found a formula

      @@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews but jr guys are mostly using pro stock sticks that have increased durability. Top end retail sticks are basically companies’ showcase of peak performance/R&D that typically sacrifice durability.
      I work at a retail sporting goods store and the Agent is easily the stick that came back most on warranty claims shortly after purchase. Children break these things on shots, which is just disgusting.
      In my opinion, spending $400 on a hockey stick is an incredible waste of money because sacrificing durability for performance makes very little sense in recreational hockey. If performance was that important, perhaps one should not be playing rec. Pros have way more technique, power and ability, and even they don’t sacrifice performance for durability. So I suggest most adult hockey players, that care about performance, to save their money and buy pro stock where possible as no one needs a $400 stick and pro stock is actually cheaper. But if an adult enjoys those stick that much, has that money and wants to spend it like that, no judgment.
      I will also add that companies have been adding pro stock specific features to retail products for a while now- like the comfort edge pad at the top of skate boots, and increased height curves like the P92M and P28TM- but durability doesn’t seem like one of these features.

      I had the ultrasonic when it came out way back. And the surpreme adv before my channel started. The high kick ultrasonic was a large step back from older supreme models and the high kick is not a modern style stick. The tacks line beats it in every-way. Power, balance, weight and durability. Justin, care to comment on the Trigger Pro durability? Judging from your previous review of the stick durability isn't an issue (th-cam.com/video/DdOeFKskyCc/w-d-xo.html), and personally (i.e. anecdotally) I haven't heard of any rec player breaking Trigger Pro sticks.
    Aside from that, it's great to see on ice reviews for the coming season's gear and it's going to be very interesting to see what CCM has to show for with the FT6 series; here's hoping they'll reduce weight a bit on the FT6 Pro, so definitely bagging a pair of these as soon as they're released along with a set of custom FT6 Pro skates (the AS3 Pros are cracking up in the carbon on the sides now and the bottom of the boot is starting to get soft, making the holder a bit less firm).

    As for the radar used by Hockey Tutorial, it's been mentioned over and over again, also by me, and it's beyond me why they can't get a proper radar as it renders the validity, and thus the entire content and premise of the videos, completely irrelevant. I was (for free) handed over a similar radar like the one they use, and it's completely unreliable as it registers the speed of the shaft, not the puck. You can get measurements between 15 - 75 mph from what feels like entirely similar clappers, hard pass.

    • @goatsonapost
      @goatsonapost ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. I commented on each of their radar videos pointing out how their experiment was flawed and how the data results were contaminated but they didn’t care.
