Yeah I don’t think anyone mentioned this but for whatever reason, the options for that poll alluded to fictional detectives instead of outright stating them. You know, Sherlock, Robocop, Mulder and Scully, etc.

Yeah ringing ears really sucks man, you can't wear headsets anymore and it's hard to participate in voice chats..
As someone with severe atopic dermatitis so bad I was hospitalised for it (I ripped off my skin on most of my body because the pain was a better alternative to the itch, don't worry I'm better now. There are better treatments available) itching shouldn't even be in the top 4. It's awful but it's 6 hours. It basically just says "Everything hurts" because you're gonna be ripping at your skin but it's not long enough to do any permanent damage.

I don't think NL understood that Water Allergy is more specifically a condition in which you break out in hives or start to intensely itch when water contacts your skin. It's not as if you start melting away like the Wicked Witch of the West. Certainly a bad condition to have, but not fatal, and I'd rather endure that for a night than completely lose my entire identity and sense of who I am.

The founder of Texas Roadhouse had severe tinnitus after getting COVID and ultimately committed suicide. Obviously, there were other symptoms he was dealing with and we don't know what he was dealing with personally, but I think people underestimate how severe tinnitus can be.

Chat is crazy. Tinnitus can be serious but it's usually not that bad. I have very minor tinnitus sometimes, exaggerated by wind blowing past my ears, silence, blood pressure stuff, or awareness of it. It's not unbearable for 6-8 hrs. NL is crazy because humans are psychologically built to be able to just ignore any amount of hunger even to the point of extreme detriment. Unless you have an extreme case where it actually acidifies your stomach you're able to ignore it. Itchiness is literally the nerves being irritated and firing semi-randomly or constantly and you would be hard pressed to ignore direct nerve stimulation. But forgetting who you are is definitely the worst. The worst part is that a lot of times even with total/near-total amnesia you'll keep subconscious/unconscous conditioning or bias. So imagine having an aversion to interacting with strangers. EVERYONE is now a stranger. And you probably wouldn't remember that your memory would come back in a few hours. So good luck not panicking because from your perspective you are now alone, isolated, and remember nothing.
You're in bed, in a room, in the middle of the night, ready to go sleep. You're not surrounded by strangers. You'd have stress for sure, but eventually you'd think "I'll deal with it in the morning" and go sleep.
Idk if this is normal, but I sometimes (maybe once a month or so, it's random) get some intense ringing in one ear for like 3-5 seconds. That shit sucks, and I can't imagine having that on both ears for like 8 hours. I'd go insane.

I think the itching would be way worse than they gave it credit for. I interpreted it as going beyond just your skin, imagine (don’t imagine) having itchy organs, veins, urethra, under your nails, etc.
Also ringing ears can be really bad, I know someone with tinnitus who has it so bad that it really causes them a huge amount of distress. It sounds like it wouldn’t be bad but when it is 24/7 for years without a single moment of silence it can really get to you

@@NinaNinaM24Nah. The idea of us losing our sense of self is bad, but once it happens, at that point we probably wouldn't care (nearly as much), we already forgot. Intense ear ringing for hours would be way worse than some stress for a couple hours.
