For me, that iconic part of the song always sounded to me like the perfect representation of someone who was wounded, hurt. He feels like this person will not be able to go the distance in the relationship. He has been hurt before and he doesn't want to go through it again. But at the end, he surrenders and says, "maybe just one more try". That is the thing about love. You can't control how someone feels about you and you can't always control who you love. It is always a gamble but, if you aren't willing to try you will never find it. Such a beautiful song and one that anyone who has ever had their heart broken can relate to. RIP George, we miss you.

I always thought that referring to someone as the "teacher" was his way of not outing himself as gay. You know, back then that would just about kill a celebrity career. But it was like a lot of other people, everyone knew but as long as that person did not admit it, everyone else would ignore it. I loved everything he did, that voice was just so sexy. We lost him way too soon.
