I do this same thing but from dark to light. So I may start with a touch of black and purple and slowly creep into the lighter purple. This is if I get to do a 2-3 session tattoo. After the mid to dark colors are healed that is when I rock into my mid to light. The clients have to trust the process. They come in for a yellow sunflower but after the first session they only have a purple impression of a sunflower. Haha but they tend to be much happier at the depth after the final session is healed.
This is awesome. I love watching your videos because you approach tattoos from a traditional artist's perspective vs a "tattoo artist's" perspective and it makes all the difference. Thanks!
Awesome tid bit! I have always "cup mixed" colors. You can find brilliant and inspiring variations in color tones that you can't necessarily find premixed from the bottle. Therein lies the chase! Thanks for the video bruv🤙
I love this I'm a new artist and I love to learn new techniques cuz to be honest I can't afford a bunch of crazy colors but learning something like this helps out a lot
Cool..i love using a color wheel.. Does this mess up ur ink colors inside the cups after mixing? How do u prevent that? Do u run ur machine when your dipping in 2 different color inks?
I agree. Color wheels really help you visualize transitions. I just treat my ink caps the same way I would a painters palette. When it gets too messy, I just set out a new color.
i always find my colour pots end up so muddied with other colours when i use limited pallettes how do i keep the original colour in the pot better when mixing in the tip?
hey man great content as alwaysl, was hoping u could help me with an issue. after my linework i want to color but every time end up with muddy colors , seems the black lines mix with the color, is this something purely cuz of the fake skin or am i doing something wrong? thank you
Hi, love the channel. Totally unrelated to the video but just wanted to know if you guys could do some more coverup / rework videos. Thanks again for the content.
This is so fucking ironic that I stumbled across this particular video today, cause all night and partly into this morning I was wondering if u could juxtapose tattoo ink like u can with painting or like u can with layers of color pencils, so I highly appreciated this informational videi, and I will definitely start doing this more awersim
Thank you for you deal. I am living in Russia, and dont understand everything that you tell us, but! But you gave me realy many expirience. I saw you first video year ago. And now i have better skill then it was.
There’s a much simpler and more controlled way to do this. If you want to hit me up I can show you. The reason it turned green, by the way is because black is an optical blue...which is why it turned green when mixed with yellow. This will happen even if you do the shading underneath in black and lay yellow over the top. Shoot me a PM on IG if you want me to explain more. Coppola_art
i have been recommend this video and i am sorry for spending this 10 sec because if u need this tutorial i feel sorry for all the beginners cuz you dont have LOGIC sorry ur not for this industry

nice topic. good to do the color wheel review.
I would love to hear your thoughts on adding in counter pigment to neutralize your skin tone for after the tattoo is healed
Colors, when mixed with its complimentary color, makes a neutral color. Good for areas of color with/need shading
awesome advice, makes sense and is something I use in my paintings. thanks for sharing
darren Connor sure thing. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
I do this on my paintings too.
Good tip. Will definitely help get those yellows darkened without making it look like mud.

Well explained ... thanks!
Great tip.. If you like to know the reason adding black to yellow makes green its because black pigment has allot of blue in it...
