This is super helpful. Thought I was going to get the Milwaukee until I picked it up. Feels cheap compared to the Makita. I’m on both platforms and have 8 or 9 Makita 5.0s.

I so thank you for this. Can you try milwoke with 5 ah aku ? 5 ah acu is perfeck for other power tols . 12 ah with some dril is to heavy.

What are the weights of the two? Milwaukee with one 12.0 vs 2 -5.0 makita

Interested how it would do with a 6.0. Don't really wanna splurge on a 12.0

I watched a good amount of reviews on this saw as it has peaked my interest but the one thing I haven’t seen talked about is the trigger. Is it variable speed or is it like the hedge trimmer and it’s full speed once activated.

Variable speed. It works exactly like you would expect it to.
My Makita, however has some weird safety thing that is difficult to get used to. I’ll try and explain this in a future video

Ive been using the m18 top handle but really have been looking at the 18v lxt makita 10". The thing feels like half the weight

The Makita 18v is easily half the weight. I’ve had it, the 36v Makita, and all the Milwaukee offerings. The 18v is, really, a homeowner saw. It’ll do work, and I definitely did work, and if you run it hard then it stops. It has a place, but it’s not doing heavy work. The 36v makes up power in a big way, but the trigger always bothered me, and it’s the same or more weight than the Milwaukee. Full disclosure, I sold both of my Makita’s and am running all Milwaukee - and also the Makita saws were the last tools running Makita batteries, where everything else I have runs M12/M18. I hated the trigger on the 36v Makita, but felt it was pretty evenly matched with the M18 top handle across the board.

@@MattShinavar that's unfortunate that it doesn't perform well. Did you ever try it with the 1/4 chain conversion?

How many cuts can you get with the milwaukee top handle with a 12ah battery

In a different video game used 3 of 4 bars on a 6.0 - same size eucalyptus log - to cut 40 cookies out. If I had to guess, a 12.0 should go out past 100 cuts like that.
