At 1:20:36, you can hear the coaches actually wants her to retire. Saying in Chinese "Pearly, Its ok, doesn't matter. Theres always next time". I think it was Pearly who wanted to go on.
I think the cries at the end shows that she finally realize what her stubbornness has cost her-more pain on her leg or longer time out of tournament. Partners and coaches need to step up when a player is clearly jeopardising her own career by continuing a match (that she won’t win anyway) with an injured knee. GWS Pearly cuz you’re such a fun player to watch.

The brand new Thinaah with much more power in her smashes and her usually top notch defence. I hope it’s not a serious injury. Carolina Marin took a year out to recovers from injuries. Okay. So that was completely outrageous. I'll retract any criticism if more details come out later, but the Malaysian coaches came in during the pre game-3 break talking all strategy. I was baffled. Did not talk about injury or possibly retiring. If, and again final judgement reserved, IF the malaysian coaches and her partner Thinaah encouraged anything other than retiring the match at the start of game 3, they are being irresponsible. Because it certainly didn't visually appear like they were trying to forfeit the match for the health of the player.
At 45:26 points 14 to 12 Pearly pulls of an amazing shot to get to 15 but also in the process puts a lot pressure on her left knee, from that point on she starts showing signs of irritation. To be frank, if you weren't keenly observing you might have missed it or even have thought it wasn't as bad but from that point on it starts to slowly get worse and worse.

After losing the second game, the coaches discussed strategy instead of deciding whether to throw in the towel. Again, no parents should watch this.

Pearly was telling Thinaah that she wanted to try again. She was simply communicating that with the umpire. But i agree with you that the coaches should have intervened.
It's a match so all players must find all ways out to win. I love Pearly Tan's playing style but I do understand that it's Malaysian side to take full responsibility to be in a game.

She was was making a jumping smash from the right to the left. She shouldnt have over-stressed body especially jumping down on the left leg.
