I am 77 years old. I am amazed with all misinformation that has been publish about what you should eat in my life time. I am taking a whole new attitude toward what to eat, thanks to Dr. Ken Berry and his guests.
I am 67 and still struggling to correct all the physical conditions caused by years of misinformation regarding diet. Insulin resistance, large kidney stones, overactive parathyroid leaching calcium from my bones (osteopenia), migraines. Surgeries, procedures, etc to fix said issues because these are the only resources the doctors have. I have radically changed my diet to include more animal products, less oxalates, and definitely more fat than I ever allowed myself to consume. I feel great, and hope to feel even greater, once I clean up these left over issues; by eating the proper Human diet. I am trying not to be resentful as to add to the myriad of negative ways my body resorts to saving itself. Mostly, I feel it produces copious amounts of cortisone. So, staying calm as I march forward is priority.
I’m a nurse and have been on a ketogenic diet for the past year. I’ve lost 60 lbs and my glucose levels are normal. We have to relearn and reteach about how the body truly metabolizes fats, proteins, and especially carbs. Thanks this is really great information!!
So I see you mentioned you're doing the ketogenic diet, I'm newer to all of this.... The first week or two has been a bit rough when it comes to the body getting used to it all.... I was curious how you figure out or calculate how much protein vs. Fat you should eat? I keep finding different calculators and different things but they don't really provide me much for answers... I also originally went from doing carnivore only, to doing keto instead, so I could add avocados which seems to be helping with the gut issues during the transition if you will lol...
Yes, I put together a newsletter helping patients to choose healthy fat sources and proteins. I prefer to eat ketogenic food because I feel so much better than I did before adapting this lifestyle.
What a great idea. When I saw my Dr. last week I questioned him on diet and LDL and his response was a serious look and then he said. " You know I have both a PhD and MD degree." Further discussion revealed he believed I should not question his judgement and just do what he said. What a poor example for a scientist and now I am in the market looking for a Doc that wishes to stay up with the science, question the status quo of knowledge and treat me like an adult that is in charge of his own health. Appreciation for Dr. Bikman and Berry... great models of how to treat the 'practice' of medicine upon graduation from med school. Keep going men, a lot of folks get your reality model and you have our support.
That’s interesting that you mention your relationship with your doctor. I’m probably going to have the situation when I go for my next exam. The last exam and bloodwork showed that I’m close to pre diabetes. This is why I began carnivore. It’s working for me. I can just imagine what he fine when he sees my LDL. Wish me luck .
Yeah fr. When I studied bio-chem, the main thing we were taught is that nothing should be taken for granted. Any small factor could throw off your predictions. Two chemicals that are completely inert may cause unforseen effects within a system when introduced to a third usually inert chemical. You should always question EVERYTHING in science. That is literally the scientific method.
Same here. Unfortunately everybody still thinks that's impossible. 😂 Yet they keep eating crap. Im down 70#, feel great, and getting better by the day. My employer has been buying a lot of lunches, about every other week. Every time its donuts, cookies, pizza, fried chicken sandwiches, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, etc. Everybody is noticeably heavier and out of shape, tired, running to the bathroom. Lol. They ask why I'm not eating, and I just look at them, then look at myself, and pull out my belt where I have had to drill many new holes. No surprise. 😂
Me too. And it helped me beat prostate cancer. Another thing the doctor condemned me to have forever. FU, I don't have anything forever. All things in this universe are constantly changing and we have numerous healthy levers to pull to steer ourselves towards holistic health!
I've always liked Dr Bickman, but after listening to his initial comments about the arrogance and the hubris of today's scientific community, I admire him more than before. A man after my own heart! ❤😊
I myself had compared the science hammer people were bashing each other with during the pandemic a NEW RELIGION. The throwing around of false science was insane.
I too have been eating this way and was down 80 lbs in 6 mo. Best part is inflammation is gone, able to do so many thing I couldn't before. Able to workout, tie my shoes, look forward to tomorrow. Also stage two wultiple myeloma.
iam on the carnivore diet. before this diet i had so many conditions and the most painful was chronic gout. and people who have this, they know the pain is the most painful. the doctors told me keep away from meat so i did but it still was here. so i listened to dr baker and he said gout is an inflammatory condition and not about eating meat. so i tried this diet and like a miracle i am gout free for 60 days. also no depression anxiety eczema asthma. i feel out of this world, so thank you dr ken. god bless you.
I was recently in hospital with a myasthenia crisis and had pneumonia. I am not diabetic. Out of my ward of 6 patients, 3 were diabetic. All were groggy on waking. At breakfast they were given orange juice, cereal with milk, tea with 2 and 3 sugars, fruit yoghurt, then a bag with an apple, banana and orange. After breakfast all 3 patients were passed out and sleeping by 0830. One lady had a BM of 7, after breakfast it was 21. She was then given meds. I think diabetes care needs to be looked at again.
I am in a nursing home for rehab after a broken hip. The surgery team did a great jpb fixing the pelvis and the nurses and hospital staffers a great help BUT I am diabetic for 30 years, not in good control but not terrible either. So Iguess I am an average diabetic struggling to keep some kind of control. So I go to this hospital for this surgery and when they find out that I am diabetic t ask me how much insuln I am taking and I say 8 to 10 3 or 4 times a day. Then when they start gving me insulin I ask them how much? They say they are using a sliding scale and giving me 3. And my bloood sugar starts to climb, on the hospital diet. My blood sugars are now averaging over 300 and now they are using 5 units a day. I mention this to somebody but I am completely ignored. So I have my wife bring me my flexpen and I take an extra 6 u. Then I told the nurse and she had a meltdown. Telling me that the hospital had its policies and we couldn't violate those policies. The fact that my blood sugars were going out of control meant nothing. Then a funny thing happened. That night the doctor on call noticed the blood sugars and ordred a corrective value of 12 which I agreed with. The nurse told me that I had to remove my flexpen from the hospital. We did not have a good relationship. Me and that hospital have not had the last say on this yet.
@@janethomas78 That is certainly your choice. I don't know anything about your aunt. She may be very wise or very stupid but she is your aunt. I may someday die of drug side effects. But I am probably still alive due to some of the drugs I am taking.
@@ranchoboomerang Yep. I am pretty sure some of them are working quite well while there are others that I question. Gout is very, very painful. I hav had gout attacks in the past but not so much recently however I have had gout so bad I couldn't walk in the morning. Went to the dic and got this little miracle pill. Took it and was pain free by late afternoon. My daughter had a similar experience. My wifes sister had a serious heart attack and she and her family were pretty picky about what they ate. She was treated at a hospital and put on meds. Her husband is a mechanical engineer and considers himself quite smart. He thought he knew more than the doctors and took her off of her meds. She died a few months later of a massived heart attack. This same husband sent me some lpages from a book about reversing diabetes. The book sounded kinda hoakey to me. Then just by accident I caught this author doing one of those late night self infomercial things. He sounded absolutely ignorant and ill informed. To be clear I am not entirely in love with doctors and modern medicine. I have my own disagreements and questions. I think someday there will be a diabetic med that will be effective for many people but probably not all. I believe that medical technologhy is just coming out of the dark ages compared to where it will be 100-200 years from now. But we are here now and have to deal with it. So if a person decides that they do not trust doctors and medicine and want to choose another way to deal with their health I am completely on board. Their choice is their business and their ideas are as good as mine. I do believe that many of our diseases are lifestyle generated and could be greatly controlled by better diet, exercise and other lifestyle changes. But I am 84 and while I try I don't think I have enough time to make great changes to my health. As many do, I squandered my youth. So, I am just grateful to hav lived this long in sorta good health and have a wife of 60 years who is still with me. Next time I will write the extended version. :) I really do wish I could type better.
My husband (64) and I (54) have been carnivore for about 6 months. He donated blood today and received many compliments from the phlebotomists for his fabulous blood markers, high iron levels and excellent blood pressure. 💕 🎉 💕 the carnivore life! Thank you, Dr. Berry!!!
I follow Dr. Berry, my daughter-in-law follows Dr. Bikman. This was an amazing team up for both of us. Things i was trying to explain to her, things she was trying to explain to me came together in a beautiful interview. Thank you so much.
I've struggled with 100+ extra pounds, 3 bp meds, and 80 mg med for acid reflux for years. I've been 28 days carnivore now, down 14 lbs and better yet, 100% OFF all 3 of my BP meds, and 80 mg of omeprazole- both bp and acid reflux have completely reveresed/normalized! Thank you Drs for talking about the benefits of this change in diet!! I initially was going to try for 5 days, then extended to one week, then extended to 2 weeks, now I don't think I'll turn back ever!

Dr. B, I’m shocked 😱 I just started the carnivore diet on a lark, after watching your video on the diet. After only a week I’m down 7lbs.💥 feel great, I’m gonna go all in. Thank You, (everyone thinks I’m crazy) I resent having been lied to and brainwashed by “big food!” 🙏🤠🙏
So glad I heard this , I been intermittent fast for yrs, but I went to Dr and gave iron pills, I'm gonna start eating meat hand over fist. Maybe spinach with eggs, 🤔I do love green stuff..im low sugar, but I gotta cut it out...cause my weight has plateau, even thou I prob don't get 12 to 1500 calories a day. My Dr says calorie restrict can make me plateau even gain a few, but I'm starting to think I'll do my own research , I got autoimmune and disabled. I'm weaning off all sugar and going carnivore with greens eggs butter and see what happens, but il still stay within my eat window.
Praise the Lord Jesus! My husband is a truck driver and he almost didn’t pass his physical because of high blood pressure in dec 2022. I prayed and asked the Lord to help us and a few days later I was led to one of Dr. Berry videos on the carnivore diet. After a few months of eating carnivore we both have lost over 25 lbs each and my husband’s blood pressure is back to normal and we both have lots of energy and feel better. Thank you Dr Berry and Praise the Lord Jesus for the truth 🎉❤ Also, Thank you Dr Bikman for sharing Gods Word with us. God bless you. 🥰
Me too. I've been praying and asking the Lord to show me what my part is in becoming healthy again. I had covid 2 years ago, was very ill, and hospitalized 15 days. Recovery has been a long haul. I've been doing Keto/Carnivore for about 5 weeks and feeling better. I am thanking the Lord Jesus also.
@@OwenL32 we eat beef, pork, chicken, lamb, fish and shrimp, bacon & eggs, a little bit of cheese and milk. But like 90 % of our meals are beef. Like ground beef patties or Ribeyes are our favorite. But if we’re on a budget we eat beef patties, eggs, bacon. Sometimes we also get beef short ribs. I also buy beef fat from our local butcher and air fry them or cook them on the stovetop, they really help with weight loss. I hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing to the public that aren’t in your group. Due to these type of TH-cam I know more than my GP. I wish he was able to learn things like this. Edit: I wish I could get 100 likes!!
I'm watching this for the second time, trying to absorb and remember all I can. About 5 weeks or so on Keto/Carnivore, feeling better, and losing weight. Thank you so much for doing this video.
Another trucker here! Thanks for the shout out BTW. I was vegan for the last 6 years and have been really struggling lately with many things, especially dealing with menopause as well. Anyway, thank God for you both and your work 🙏. I hope to begin feeling better by learning more about the true facts.
Dr. Ben Bikman has just became my #1 scientist. It is so refreshing to hear such a man of humility identify what is happening in the scientific space. Thank you Dr. Betty for allowing him to speak freely about his personal views that support his message.
Carrie, so true. I've been either keto, ketovore or carnivore for almost 7 years now. We listen to all of the low carb docs and I must have heard 5 things that Bickman said that I never heard of. I was happy to hear that Bickman is losing his patients with the antis. I wish there was more of an organized push back against mainstream medicine's archaic perspective on what a PHD should be. Ugh
Above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. (James 5:12)
Yay Duke! North Carolinian here Bin Bikman, I’m not surprised you are not puffed up with pride nor is Dr. Berry. Thank you both for sharing your knowledge and experiences and teaching us what most MD’s couldn’t. I am so blown away by God’s design of our bodies❤️
I’ve been Keto for about a year and have recently converted my husband and brother in law. At a recent family gathering, I overheard a young family member who is a nursing student tell my husband to “not get sucked into this Keto thing because it causes keto acidosis”. Scary to think what is being taught in the medical/nursing field.
I was a Geneticist for 15yrs, left science when the peer review process became corrupt and we left the academic pursuit behind for goal driven science. Too much politics and BS in science these days.
@TNTalgo That is so admirable! You followed your conscience instead of questioning or ignoring it. Way to go! Actually, I did a similar thing, being fired from my LOVE job for not taking the nasty needle! I am at ease with myself, although I really miss the job, & the company car. But I was NEVER ever gonna comply!
@@Astronurd Thanks for that! People should know better than to trust the grubberment, & to have EVEN LESS trust of the medical system, that makes huge profits from peoples' illness.
I had been doing Keto for about 2 weeks when I began intermittent fasting, I just wasn't hungry all day like before Keto. Well soon after I got curious about multi-day fasting and began what I expected to be a 5 day fast, but on day 3 ketones were high, blood sugar low, but I developed joint pain in my wrists and pain in one big toe, and I immediately ended my fast and the pains went away immediately. I got a home uric acid kit and discovered that my uric acid was sky high! So the mechanic in me had to know what happened, I have to know this before I can fix anything. Well I searched for over a week, and came across a paper written, I think in the 40's or 50's, about diabetics, ketoacidosis and uric acid, I found my answer there. This paper explained that when ketones are high, the body gives priority to eliminating ketones over uric acid to prevent ketoacidosis, but uric acid can build up during this time. I also found that over time the body gets better at juggling the uric acid and ketones, while in ketosis, and sure enough, a month later and I was able to complete a 5 day fast with no problems.
@@kc201310 Ketoacidosis is when there is not enough, or any insulin to bring the blood sugar level down by allowing the cells to receive glucose, so because the body is needing energy, the liver begins converting fat to ketones, in order to get energy to the cells, because cells can access ketones without insulin, this is a risk for type 1 diabetics. To be in a state of ketoacidosis you need BOTH ketones AND blood glucose to be very high. A type 2 diabetic still produces insulin, so ketoacidosis is not a concern for a type 2, and if a type 1 is monitoring their blood sugar, there is not concern there, but a type 1 must be vigilant. A non-diabetic will not encounter ketoacidosis, so high ketones are not a concern. For the 5 + years I've done Keto, carnivore and multi-day fasting, the higher my ketones go, the lower my blood glucose goes, which also is not a concern because my body is getting energy from ketones (my stored fat), so their is less need for blood glucose, no such thing as a hypoglycemic as long as you are fat adapted.
This is great information! Thank you for sharing. I have found when I fast (newish to Keto, OMAD and just did first longer fast), my inflammation in my Achilles tendon gets worse and I had some joint pain. I wonder if your revelation explains that.
There are sooooo many brilliant people in this space these days. These are two of the brightest lights. Love you both. Thank you for what you do, gents!
5 months 100% carnivore diet did not cheat once and so far my blood pressure is 120 over 60 and I'm down 66 lb with another 42 go just did a full blood panel everything is within normal ranges I am 73 years old thank you dr. Berry you saved my life
Trucker for over 33 years. Never been healthier since eating ketovore , carnivore . Thank you for exploring such a wide range of topics specifically the protein sparing modified fasting. I love hearing the you both sort through this stuff !
Two doctors who are not afraid to tell the truth, and when necessary, go against the "science" in order to enlighten people, and help them become healthier humans. Thank you so much for all you're doing for humanity. Your intelligence and passion with humility are greatly appreciated and vital in times like these.❤️❤️❤️
This discussion regarding calories has been my mantra for 2 years now. And I get vitriolic comments thrown back at me everytime I write this theory. Thank you Dr. Bickman for verifying this idea of calories and how our cells interact with it. THANK YOU SO MUCH. ❤
Hi dr berry , I have been doing Keto for 8 years and have watched you over the years since you exploded on the scene . I must say you are looking healthier than ever and younger each year . I too experienced this and now aged 50 look younger than 40 ! Great work so thank you 🙏

Thanks! 💙
Thank you for inviting Dr Bikman. I saw him a few days ago elsewhere, and shared his video, and I am sharing this one to my social media. Traditional "doctors" just do not have any understanding of how so much of the body work, especially all involved in metabolic syndrome. Easier to listen to the drug rep and get your kickback check. Thank you for sharing this incredibly valuable and understandable information. I dx myself a year ago, started keto, then ketovore, then carnivore following Dr B and other superstars in the realm. 5'1" and down nearly 30 pounds and feel amazing.
Thank you so much for this discussion, I am 70 now and have never had a successful eating plan. Been doing it wrong, no more guilt over eating fat and counting calories. Freedom to enjoy food not junk.
I thought this discussion was awesome. My favorite talk of the whole year. Many take-a-ways. I hope you can have Dr. B back again very soon. Thank you!
So respect Dr .'s Bickman, and Berry. Dr. Bickman is such an intelligent and humble man. I've bought his book and given it to friends to try and educate them. I am so happy someone asked about rising glucose on carnivore. It was driving me nuts thinking maybe I needed to actually count calories? The question about caffeine was also very helpful. Thank you both so very much for what you do for us all.
Excellent interview, this guest is very good! My first time listening to him. Thank you Dr.Berry. You are quickly becoming my favorite TH-camr! I greatly appreciate your content, honesty and integrity. Something that's missing in todays America. Much respect sir.
Ken, been on Carnivore for 6 weeks. Down 20+ pounds. Best of all A1C in October was 9.3 as of today it's at 8. You literally saved my life. Thank you!!!
Not too many times I watch Dr. Berry not run a show too much because the guest has such a range of knowledge. Great to see a professor from BYU as a scientific angle to nutrition. Great show.
Oxalate expert Sally K Norton says that uric acid can be used by the body to break down oxalates so it's possible that uric acid goes up bcs you radically eliminate plants and the body can start the process of clearing out stored oxalates. Many get bouts of "gout" when they clear out oxalates.
I know that I do! Often when experiencing joint or "toe" gout pain it coincides with crystals in the corners of my eyes and behind my bottom front teeth. I know then that it what it is. Unfortunately S. Norton said that this dumping process could take years! Especially given the HUGE amounts of oxalates I have consumed over many many years. I wish that I had known this information earlier but maybe even if I had heard it I may have not wanted to listen.
@@janetprice1368 Yeah....same here..I'm 2 years in and I have many years of oxalate clearing left considering my plant heavy past.🤪 It's rough at times and I also wish that I knew earlier....😞 But as you said...not sure I would have listened back then either. So we can only do the best we can now and it will get better with time atleast❣️🤗
For years I struggled with IBS and stomach issues, over the last ten years I started learning about low carb, keto and carnivore etc and I finally understood why I have struggled my entire life with these issues. To this day when I occasionally fall off the wagon and slip up and go back to my old ways and within a couple of weeks all the old symptoms return. I can't eat many vegetables as they cause me so much discomfort and pain, so much for the so called experts!
Oxalic acid is high in almost all of what the mainstream un-health industry calls superfoods. It appears to be a long and bumpy road to reduce these poisons to a safe level in your body. The purging effect if you reduce them from your diet too quickly is one of the problems with the oxalates accumulated in tissues from year-round availability of these toxic vegetables we have been encouraged to consume.
I have IBS and stomach issues and im raw vegan, only fruits and vegetables. I take soil microbes to digest vegetables better. Its the mix of things that makes it hard to do what I do. You basically make a choice and if you go for one, it’s impossible to do the other. They do not go together. But it’s not the fruits and vegetables that is the problem
I suggest listening to the doctor of the book ‘no grain, no pain’. And I discovered so many more issues by studying more, beyond just IBS. This doctor will give you many answers
I could have listened to this for hours. Dr. Bikman is so knowledgeable and personable and easy to listen to. Thank you for a great video, Dr. Berry and Dr. Bikman!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS INTERVIEW!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤ I’ve been trying to get my husband to at least think about trying carnivore, and being a BYU nut, whenever Ben Bickman is on now, hubby is starting to actually listen! That’s progress at least!!! 😂❤️ Thank you Dr. Berry!! And thank you Dr. Bickman!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Hearing that there is a way to know if there is a cephalic phase response was super helpful! The whole video is super helpful!!! I’ll be watching this one many times to absorb as much as I can!
Me too. I am so grateful to the humble, honest scientist and doctor. I wish I could get my family to join me. I'm on my third day of carnivore. I pray for us all to find our way through all the wrong information. You are a hero Dr. Berry, I wish you all the blessings of the Lord to pour on you for getting this information to us. The vast majority of doctors are failing us.
Been on the Carnivore/ Keto lifestyle for the last year. I have lost 70 lbs no saggy skin blood pressure is 112/71 My last blood work the Dr. says is perfect! My testosterone went from 300 to over 900. I just turned 53 on April 7th.. Thank you Dr. and all the other amazing Dr s promoting this life style.
Love both of you and thank you so very much!!! Just finished Dr. Bikmans book, Why We Get Sick. Asked my doc to test insulin (I am prediabetic) and she said she doesn’t order that. The tech didn’t know the difference between insulin and glucose. Ugh So I took the bull by the horn and ordered it myself. I go in the morning.
I read his book, to me, it’s life-changing, as far as understanding, human body, and how to support it with food. I love the talk here as well. Nice job guys.
Absolutely correct about fatty tongue. My friends used to complain about my snoring when we were out of town. After two years on keto, snoring is gone--even after a night of drinking.
I'm an atheist and I took issue with Dr. Bikman implying that lack of religion is what causes people to blindly believe in dodgy science. Lack of education is the problem. Not lack of religion.
@@robinbeers6689 Instead of lack of religion, think of it as lack of something wonderful that we are part of & is our highest potential. Doesn't have to be a dogmatic, organized, Human created religion.
Man, I enjoyed this interview. Dr. Berry & Dr. Bikman share the top of my list when it comes to perfect blend of education, common sense, communication skills & just plain likability. Dr. Bickman on the growing corruption (closed minded unscientific method, unyielding arrogance usually tainted with political motives) of so many "scientists" & physicians was bullseye observation.
Great interview, scientific , practical , and enlightening, I agree about the arrogance in a lot of clinical circles ie my colleagues and supposed experts that just regurgitate false data excellent !!!
Fascinating Dr. Bickmin! I have recently read 1 Tim 4 about abstaining from meat - had the same thoughts as you! So good to know you and Dr. Berry won't shy away from the Bible. And it's so healthy!
This is a very informative interview. I appreciate Ben Bikman in so many ways. I love the boldness of his faith and his love for Almighty God is so beautiful. Dr Berry is so real and sincere in his talks. May God continue blessing them both as they strive to help others in their health journeys. 💕✝️💕
The explanation about the cell membranes being made of fat was totally new to me. That's why we need protein AND fat to build muscle. Just after the 35 minute mark.
Absolutely amazing presentation. I’m so grateful that you care enough to share your knowledge with everyone. I am at the start of my keto/carnivore journey but feel more confident and reassured
I love these guys. Dr Bikman’s description on how he grows fat cells in his lab and what happens to the fat cell with and without insulin is amazing and changed my view on how to treat myself for metabolic disorders including hypertension and pre diabetes. Thanks
Absolutely agree! These docs/scientists who think their word is the last word - what are they saying? - Don't do ANY MORE research on this subject cos I KNOW it all! How disgustingly ARROGANT, & IGNORANT of these fools!
Thoroughly enjoyed this interview with Scientist Bikman...NEVER get enough of him. I learned so much and it was a Jam Packed Interview. Dr. Berry... AWESOME INTERVIEW SIR with the 1 TIM 4 man of GOD. 💯💛✨️
I’ve been arguing with people that counting calories was bullshit, the argument was thin. “Calories is the energy you get when you combust the food, your body doesn’t do that”. Great message here, thx

Finally I got my answer about the HbA1c. I wore a CGM for 14 days and it gave me a predicted A1c of 5.3. At the same time I had my annual physical and did blood work in a lab and my A1c was 6.1. It makes perfect sense knowing that lab test are calculated on an average of 90 days of red blood cell glaciation.
And the 90 days is an average as well. Usually the 6 and 9 month marks will show the work yoube done a bit more. Thats great youre projecting 5.3! Keep it up! ✌
I love the down to earth attitude of science here on this channel. You guys actually talk to us like equals and are humble with your knowledge while you help us understand and learn more about scientific truth! As an atheist, I’ve come around to agreeing with Dr. Bikman that our present state of …weirdness… is related to falling away from our traditional values. People will search for truth and meaning. If they can’t find it in one place, they’ll try it in another.
So you have faith that there is no God...but what is the hope in that faith? As a Christian, I expect eternal life and a new body that shines like the sun, as Jesus did at the transfiguration. hat's a pretty sweet hope. Christianity does not just promise that your soul is eternal, but that your body will be raised and made eternal and perfect. That's quite a hope and a promise, backed up by massive amounts of archeology (my current morning meditation), history, science and scholarship on the Bible... God took a people, the Jews, preserved them and refined them, and brought in a savior for the world, overcoming the certain death we all face with death itself, canceling it out and giving us the Gospel: the Good News of the hope of eternal life through an elegant, accessible solution: faith that God came here as the man Jesus Christ and allowed himself to be murdered so that He Himself could overcome death for all of us. Just as Bose head phones cancel out sound, God canceled death through bodily death and resurrection. Imagine how much history and wars have been fought for this hope. How many people died just to have access to the Bible and not to deny this faith. 11 of the Apostles allowed themselves to be brutally killed rather than deny this hope.
@@tyndaleisrael6058 thank you for pointing out how dangerous ideological fanaticism can be. The atheist hope is that we can move toward a more human- and earth-centered mode of being instead of a tribal war of indoctrination, that we will make the best of the life we have now because we know it is the one we have instead of acting on behalf of a fairy tale life that will never come.
What a great world that we have video access to these exceptional people who 20 years ago would have remained unknown doing their unknown research in their little dungeons. Now they are the rockstars of this TH-cam content. I’m so glad I watched this. I was considering PSMF instead of IF but I know IF has helped me in the past and made me feel great! I would only do 48 hours every so often. I feel like I needed that reassurance that I won’t lose muscle when I still have plenty of fat to use. For me, it’s for autophagy. Thank you! I have both of your books on audible and in print!
I absolutely love Dr. Ben Bikman, partially for the very reason he mentions at the beginning of the video. His ego is in check! And for the record, I believe that it should be the same for doctors! I tell my clients all the time, if you’re working with a doc, at the very least, make sure they have that ego in check. Because otherwise, you’ll get nowhere. They’ll be sure they have all the answers - wrong or not, and won’t be open to any new ideas. Thank you both for your hard work!
idk about the Christianity thing, but with Proper Human Diet, we aren't doing the 'daily bread' thing nor are we drinking any wine (alcohol is a poison). Ruminant animals and fish are great though...so Jesus got that part right.
Being religious is kind of a turnoff in a scientist, honestly. I worry that the data get's ignored to make room for the faith. It was difficult to take him seriously.
@@aaronwells6608 I agree it is disconcerting. However he is able to accurately define the scientific approach ("try and prove yourself wrong"). I read his book without feeling at any stage that religion was contaminating his science. So I am giving him the benefit of the doubt.
@@aaronwells6608 This just shows that you are ignorant of the history of science. Without religion and the priests and other people of faith the scientific revolution would never have happened. No good scientist, religious or not, would allow personal beliefs to interfere with scientific investigation. Only corrupt scientists would allow a personal ideology or belief to skew their data or the results of any experiment. And Dr Bikman took a stance against this exact thing happening in the "world of science" right now. It makes it difficult for me to take anyone seriously that refuses to look at the actual evidence and who immediately jumps to a conclusion ignoring the evidence presented to them.
Also elevated CPK can be related to a hard workout and not heart disease. There are differential CPK fractions that can tell if it's actually heart related or just from the muscles from a workout.
Very insightful. I did a ketogenic diet during the first lockdown in the UK, 2020. I lost 24kg of body fat in about 6 months. I included intermittent fasting which I still do. I'm a bit more of a carb eater now and I must say I'm feeling tired all the time again like before. I'll go back to low carb again soon because it felt better and I had the energy of a machine. I usually fast about 18-20 a day anyway. It'd be quite easy to start burning ketones again. I haven't drunk alcohol in 11 years which I feel also helps your health.
High uric levels comes from the consumption of high purine foods. When the purine is broken down it's transformed into uric acid and this triggers the storage of fat by the liver by the same mechanism that bears use to become fat by consuming fermenting fruits during autumn, both the alcohol and the purines contribute to a fatty liver.
I'm 61 type 2 diabetic , everyone on my fathers family were diabetic all passed in their 50s and 60s. Both my sister are diabetic. I had triple by-pass surgery 9 years ago. My weight has always been normal. I'm very active, two weeks ago just had two stents, 97 % blockage and 86 % blockage. What can I do from this day forward to help prevent this again or worse?

Isn’t it sad to know we respected all these people and to learn all the lies are disheartening. Makes you wonder WHAT was TRUE?

I’m a nurse and have been on a ketogenic diet for the past year. I’ve lost 60 lbs and my glucose levels are normal. We have to relearn and reteach about how the body truly metabolizes fats, proteins, and especially carbs. Thanks this is really great information!!
Are you allowed to share this information with patients?
Wow awesome nurse, you go girl, I'm starting again and need to get more fit ,
They decieved us mostly..i think.its intentional
I went on a keto diet a few years ago and I absolutely beat type two diabetes. Amen ❤😊
It works good ? Good for you ❤

I also found that over time the body gets better at juggling the uric acid and ketones, while in ketosis, and sure enough, a month later and I was able to complete a 5 day fast with no problems.
what is the difference between ketoacidosis and ketosis?
@@kc201310 Ketoacidosis only happens in type 1 diabetics. Ketosis is a perfectly natural metabolic state of burning ketones for fuel.

Excellent interview, this guest is very good! My first time listening to him. Thank you Dr.Berry. You are quickly becoming my favorite TH-camr! I greatly appreciate your content, honesty and integrity. Something that's missing in todays America. Much respect sir.
Kenneth Foo S K From Singapore - i worship the 2 great gentlemen of SCIENCE and MEDICINE!
I love Sally, she's the absolute expert on oxalates 😊
Absolutely a very good thought! 👍🏼
@@themothers Vegetables and fruit most certainly are my issue, they cause me crippling stomach pain.

Your TRT went up 600 points !
How long did it take to start seeing significant blood pressure improvement?
Well done champ! 😁👍
Congratulations 🎈🍾🎊
Another great discussion. Dr. Bikman is one of the best guests as he is knowledgeable and practical plus easy to understand. His book is great too.
Love both of you and thank you so very much!!!
Just finished Dr. Bikmans book, Why We Get Sick.
Asked my doc to test insulin (I am prediabetic) and she said she doesn’t order that. The tech didn’t know the difference between insulin and glucose. Ugh
So I took the bull by the horn and ordered it myself. I go in the morning.
Perhaps it's time to "vote with your feet" and get a better informed doctor and staff.
Fire that Dr. immediately!
@@robinbeers6689 very possible. I do hope to educate her but if not, I will roll on.
Exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, so frustrating!
@@prestomattwine wow. It’s crazy.
I read his book, to me, it’s life-changing, as far as understanding, human body, and how to support it with food. I love the talk here as well. Nice job guys.
This was one of my absolute FAVORITE video w Dr. Berry! Dr. Bikman, you are WONDERFUL and you both addressed all of my questions! Thank you both!
Absolutely correct about fatty tongue. My friends used to complain about my snoring when we were out of town. After two years on keto, snoring is gone--even after a night of drinking.
RIGHT! Oh yeah that explains it! I never thought of it that way before! Brilliant!
I’m agnostic and think Dr Bikman is spot on! This is a wonderful discussion.

@Robin Beers I have issue with you implying that you're smarter than the doctor
@@fairrider3346 I am, thank you.
I love this Ben guy. Hope you have him on your channel more often!! 👍
I love having these two minds discussing these important topics. Thank you for providing this for us
Finally, some doctors who have ethics in actually helping people. Thank you so much!
Dr. Ben Bikman, your expertise in the field is phenomenal. Viewers can learn a prodigious amount of valuable information from you.
I love Ben Bikman. His talk about Glycogen vs Insolin is amazing!
Insulin, glycogen, and glucagon.
The explanation about the cell membranes being made of fat was totally new to me. That's why we need protein AND fat to build muscle. Just after the 35 minute mark.
Yes, they have to be hydrophobic. Otherwise about anything could get through them.
What an amazing interview, and what an amazing guest. Thank you
Absolutely amazing presentation. I’m so grateful that you care enough to share your knowledge with everyone. I am at the start of my keto/carnivore journey but feel more confident and reassured
Love the discussion. The extended discussion far exceeds the timed discussion with my GP about my type 2 diabetis. Thank you!
Thrilled to see my two favorites together. Thank you for this excellent and passionate discussion!
I love these guys. Dr Bikman’s description on how he grows fat cells in his lab and what happens to the fat cell with and without insulin is amazing and changed my view on how to treat myself for metabolic disorders including hypertension and pre diabetes. Thanks
Where can i watch this?!!
Two of my favourite doctors, you are both a blessing to me and many others.
Thank you both!
Thanks!
Thanks!
I’m so excited about this interview!!! ❤️ Hi guys!!!! 2 of my favorite guys!!!!
I just started watching Dr. Berry.. he is full of great information. Glad I found him
Love the comment by professor Ben. Doctors/scientists need to be humble! We don't need the big egos, but the humble searchers for truth.
Maybe we all do. There’s a danger that we then think we are superior.
My son has Down Syndrome he’s 32 & is Gluten intolerant/allergic he has a Gout flare up that swells up one of his legs if he has any amount of Gluten he tested positive for all 4 markers ( left one usually .. occasionally the right)usually at the knee & foot & is unable to put any weight on it or bend it & it’s extremely painful.. & need a walker when he had a flare up Been doing keto, gluten free it’s the best thing for him to be able to walk ❤
Absolutely love Dr Bikman! So thankful for your research as well as your faith. It goes hand in hand. Thanks Dr Berry for the amazing content.
😂 freezing ? hope you're well !
If you eat less cereal , fruit juice, soda , white bread , Fast Food , you can lower that 6.1 blood sugar.
And the 90 days is an average as well. Usually the 6 and 9 month marks will show the work yoube done a bit more. Thats great youre projecting 5.3! Keep it up! ✌
@Judy * absolutely nothing. But I saw the confusion on his face.
I love the down to earth attitude of science here on this channel. You guys actually talk to us like equals and are humble with your knowledge while you help us understand and learn more about scientific truth! I thank you for caring and bringing these priceless insights to the public. God bless you! 🌎🏅
As an atheist, I’ve come around to agreeing with Dr. Bikman that our present state of …weirdness… is related to falling away from our traditional values. People will search for truth and meaning. If they can’t find it in one place, they’ll try it in another.
I agree. I don’t find that a compelling reason to cling to Christianity, but discarding all the values that got us to where we are is dangerous.
Great comment!
Why don't you believe that God doesn't exist. ? He created you. And your mom and dad.
And of course the content creators who are also professionals, usually of much experience and expertise in their own fields, without whom there would be nothing. Thanks Dr. Ken.
I’m so glad I watched this. I was considering PSMF instead of IF but I know IF has helped me in the past and made me feel great! I would only do 48 hours every so often.
My first time to hear Dr. Bikman. I absolutely love his views! And a Christian as well!
Amen...Love this
idk about the Christianity thing, but with Proper Human Diet, we aren't doing the 'daily bread' thing nor are we drinking any wine (alcohol is a poison).
I love Ben Bikman's message. And now that I know he's a fellow Albertan, I love him even more! Thank-you for doing this interview.
Omg! You two are amazing! So clever, so knowledgeable. Thank you for your time, your effort to save our lives ❤ love watching you both. X
