Could be us too. Never know. What school of thought are you? Ever seen this? Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.-Isaiah 55:3 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.-Isaiah 55:13 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.-Acts 13:34 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this Man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: and by Him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.-Acts 13:38-41 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. -John 6:35-40 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. Salvation is a free gift not of works lest any man should boast. He shall never leave thee nor forsake thee. Do we then make void the law by grace? Love God with all your heart, mind, strength and thy neighbor as thyself. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. As you sow so shall you reap in this life and the next.
Appreciated the discussion fellas! Working hard to learn the deeper things of this topic. I am finding that the hardest part for me personally is the follow through. It’s easy to start a conversation, but it takes intentionality to develop a relationship. Most people don’t really seem to care what you know or want to share, (they don’t want to know your friends ...including that dude you call Jesus.) until they know you are invested in them. It takes time.....if you want to become a disciple that makes disciples that make disciples, then you need to eliminate time wasters. Things like TV, and other entertainment venues like social media kill opportunity. The more time you waste, the less time you have. Be intentional in the way you spend/invest your time daily. I learned a lot about multicultural needs from your talk...thank you!
Appreciate your comments. Consider that in order to be approachable, develop a relationship with someone, and earn the right to share your faith and the Gospel; it is critical that you connect with individuals. Therefore, you need to be able to develope the art of small talk that usually the ability to talk about what's current and knowing what is latest news, weather, trends - gain understanding of what interest that person, hobbies, activities. Objective is to share Gospel and, hopefully, gain disciple for Christ = some goals required to achieve.
"We might be training the next generation of martyrs" - VERY humbling to those of us in ministry.
