I've had this bag for a year and I have it as an everyday use. This bag has never failed me and the stitching is still together not even a string sticking out of the bag.. It fits like a glove and like I say " This bag has never failed me ".
I originally wanted one of those, but went instead with one from SOTech called a Go Bag Extended. Different exterior pouch configuration, and adds zippered sleeve pockets on the sides, big enough (if you pop stitching dividing one side) for one of them to hold either a big bowie knife (which I have in there right now a Cold Steel Laredo) or a tomahawk, any other similar sized item. You don't have the hydration compartment or the interior velcro, though, or the mesh pockets inside. Still, I love it, and it goes well with my plans.
Also worth noting, it's called "extended" because it's sized a bit longer to fit the broken down rifle action of an M4 Carbine. I also believe they have a slightly longer one, too. I just like mine as-is, because longer is better, and I can fit more kit.
I resently bought the kato mini messenger bag as an edc bag and i am very impressed so i get what you are saying. Use it in good health brother! Allt te best, Rob
Just love all your videos Darren f.p thanks so much mate, I'll take a camping video with the three Wiseman ( mindwise roach an f.p)over any other program any day of the week mate, CHEERS an many thanks from the northwest U.S.A
Mine is better knife, mine is an m9 bayonet made by "Ultimate survival gear". I chopped down a tree with it, well....... Actually I got blisters after that. The m9 was a beast of a knife, and fun to throw at the trees, plus it's wire cutter and bottle opener, and it's hand guard in a CQC fight. But your also missing something in your bag, it's your underwear, soap, shampoo, towel, and extra clothes. You also forgot something, the "Mighty legendary condom no flavor".
love your choice of pocket knife lol, does the hard case back stop the water bladder digging into your back ?, also do those new fuel tablets stink like the hexi ones & do they last as long, as always have fun, be happy, toodle pip, barry
thank you for your info I was worried about the round cap if it was over 6inches round then I was thinking it wouldnt fit thats why I was wounding what size yours was
nice video, I would like to see how does it perform when using it in situations like running, riding a bike or so just to get an idea of how close or different is to a common backpack that would be nice
Some good gear in that bag. Would be great with a field test/review of the thing. Is there a "Funkyprepper" discount or other advantages at the web shop? Regards, Lars
I have a cheap Chinese knock off of this bag. No where near as good quality, but it was under £20 so I don't worry about it living in my car. I have that goal zero solar set myself. Brilliant kit, especially since it charges aa & aaa batteries. Get yourself some eneloop xx's for it. Works even better.
Nothing against you nor the bag it looks tac sexy, but i agree with wildrose39 i would use that more for a work bag just a small bag to carry my few things i need for work. If its a go bag your looking for you need two slings. like my Motherload from Camelbak, or even a duffel. Its not that I'm not tough its sensible i was US Army (tanker) yet i had to to the same as a grunt here in Germany.
thanks lars i would of love to of done that, but it had to be sent back in same condition lol tight aye! i've been thinking about asking for that over the last month or so - keep forgetting to ask hahaha. will try harder to remember - we chat for hours and i just forget. cheers bro
I was very impressed with the Hazzard 4 pack I had but it was DAM expensive! I had the HAZARD 4 SWITCHBACK FULL SIZED and sold it due to the internal pockets not working for me. I've gone back to 5.11 and run the Rush 72, the All Hazards Prime and a 5.11 RUSH MOAB. I find the pocket layouts on these far better. The All Hazards Prime is a really nice pack.
ya man most of these bags are expensive af im finding....i just want an EDC bag that can carry enough survival/just in case stuff AND is big enough for like a full size notebook (taking classes soon) i found the red rock rover sling bag for $25 ish on amazon, it breaks down if you use it too rough (like adding heavy shotgun shell carriers to the molle system) but its a great quality bag i hear
that is some pricey kit mate... I went with the ESEE Junglas instead of the TOPS the junglas was only around 200 USD with kydex and backer... I use a two sling 30litre 1kdenier cordura wax lined pack that was roughly the same price as the haz4 single sling pack.. but I don't put a lot of weight into your shoulder fatigue as you can easily change shoulders and pivot weight CG from forward to aft. ... nice kit... lots of dough- though.
because... $172 for the blade alone, $30 for the kydex, $45 for to nylon and cordura molle backer, but $52 for the one with the accessory pouch... so $247 on the low end without the ferrocium piggyback and other add-ons... besides, I haven't seen one for as low as $172 around here.
What a bummer:) He should see it as an investment leeting you beat it up some in the woods. I will sure look into the web site. That bag would be nice to have and will suit me just fine. Cheers mate!
Great review Darren. Man, that's like work lol. Great bag but looks a bit too small for my big ass lol. Not something I could carry a change of clothes in. Cheers.
All that Tacticool gear and no blanket, sleeping bag, sheltering like a tarp or poncho. What exactly its this bag for? definitely not for hiking, note the lack of idioms pointed out, not a daypack for patrols, to much useless gear and no ammo. Survival? Nope note again no ability to shelter. A leathernan knife would provide you with less wight and more tools then that excessively big useless knife. And what is it with so many ranger bands?
funkyprepper No no no, you don't get it. I'm truly curious on what the intention of the bag is for? I camp(real camping, like 25 miles in to the Bob Marshall wilderness style camping) and consider myself a bit of a survivalist, so seeing what's the contents of your bag makes me wonder.
***** hes packed it with odds and sods to show what you can pack not what he intentionally takes on a hike if you actually looked at funkyprepper vids you would see he knows what hes packing and how he wants to pack as funky said do your own review :)
wasn't out to be rude and i answered because to give my own my opinion i know you didn't ask me neither did i need to say anything but thought i'd help guide you or give you an idea because you clearly didn't have the knowledge that its just a patrol bag id say roughly 48-72 hr bug out bag depending on how you pack the bag isn't personally my choice but many people maybe interested and he probably wasnt using the bag for anything maybe just filled it with "random" gear to show the possibilities and what shows this is that hes still got the tags attached
I'm gonna ask you, a fellow Englishman, because I don't want to risk enraging a yankee prepper with sensical questions. In the event of say, our government breaking away from the EU and eventually enforcing martial law over whoever is still locked inside the borders, how logical do you think it would be to be running around the countryside covered with DPM and MOLLE straps? If the higher-ups do decide to bend us over, do you think that low-key civilian gear would be better? Love your vids, regardless.
+MoonshineSazerac As a Yank semi-sensible "prepper" (dont really like that term) I'll ask you a question back. How logical do you think it is to REALLY believe that your (or my) government is going to do anything that would convince the population, or any significant portion, that their best survival course of action is to run off to the hills with a back pack and "live off the land"?
+T. Greening Maybe it's just me, but with what the Conservative government in the UK are currently doing, and with Donald Trump as the Republican Presidential front runner (I think he's also ahead in the polls overall?), I feel like running for the hills EVERY DAY. What with TTIP, Monsanto, et al, I have a strong desire to escape from a corporate controlled world and live a very simple life indeed.
+Dave Capaldi I understand the feeling, really, but feeling like and actually doing are two different things. A portion of the population so small as to be numerically insignificant would actually do so, because for the vast majority it is easier and much less scary to just continue on, no matter what fools our leaders may be.
I used to like watching your videos but I don't like where you are going with them. Too much toys, fancy expensive tacticool gear and sponsors. Don't get me wrong but go and look at the videos that you did years ago with proper backpacks, not shoulder man bags. The best thing about this video was that Brasso

Yeah, pretty good. I use the "Hazard 4 Drawbridge" as my main every day bag. It was a little expensive but I don't regret it!
Got mine this week on Ebay for $75. What a deal. Love it. Still organizing.
Excellent overview of the bag and a solid loadout. Well done! Scott
at 4:25 would the "little zip" be used when the gun is in the bag with the barrel sticking out the top?
I resently bought the kato mini messenger bag as an edc bag and i am very impressed so i get what you are saying. Use it in good health brother! Allt te best, Rob
ive spoke to police in the woods with survival knives, machetes and over neck knives etc - no problem at all check the law
Just love all your videos Darren f.p thanks so much mate, I'll take a camping video with the three Wiseman ( mindwise roach an f.p)over any other program any day of the week mate, CHEERS an many thanks from the northwest U.S.A
id like to know how those distress flares work 5:22 , do they shoot up into the sky or are they smoke or sound signal flares ?
they are good, shoot up about 50' and burn bright red. last about 10 secs
thanks

A collapsible mug would have been a good idea for that kit
Recently got mine - lovely piece of kit!.
love your choice of pocket knife lol, does the hard case back stop the water bladder digging into your back ?, also do those new fuel tablets stink like the hexi ones & do they last as long,

Where can I order the knife and solar power kit please?
It looks good for what it is, but I'm not keen on those one shoulder bags myself.
nice video, I would like to see how does it perform when using it in situations like running, riding a bike or so just to get an idea of how close or different is to a common backpack that would be nice
Just made the rocket my bug out....fantastic bag. May get another one.

that is some pricey kit mate... I went with the ESEE Junglas instead of the TOPS the junglas was only around 200 USD with kydex and backer... How is £105 more pricy than $200??
because... $172 for the blade alone, $30 for the kydex, $45 for to nylon and cordura molle backer, but $52 for the one with the accessory pouch... so $247 on the low end without the ferrocium piggyback and other add-ons... besides, I haven't seen one for as low as $172 around here.
but $172 for the steel eagle would be a steal around here even with the stock/OEM sheath
