As u said that ac supply cannot be given to stepper motor, bu in last u r giving a formula for step angle in terms of number of phases as single phase, 3 phase etc. How it can be understood? Pls explain.

Stator supply dc hi hota h.
Yaha phase ka mtlb kitne pair of poles ko alternatively excite kiya ja rha h.
Suppose ki stator me 6 teeth h yani 3 pair of poles ko alternatively excite kiya jaega.
Mtlb No of stator Phase 3 hoga
