I had absolutely no idea they could be grown from leaf cuttings. That's great new information to me. I love the aroma of that plant. Quite therapeutic. Thank you for sharing. From the garden city of India to you, have a fantastic-weekend! Cheers.
I never leave the main stem, I replant it as well. They never seem to survive and just take nutrients from the new growth. I live in Chicago and have been growing and Re-cultivating new plants for friends for almost 10 years. These plants are so fun! Thanks for the video!
@@EasyPeasyGardening I have been able to propagate Cuban oregano from putting a stem cutting (not leaves alone) in water. Once the cutting grows roots, you plant it, and voila!
You can take any cutting and put it in water and indirect sun, it will root within a week or so. This plant is not a big fan of drastic changes, so don’t move it from where it is growing with out consideration of sun, temp, and water.
Hi I am seeing many videos of people calling mexican mint and cuban oregano the same plant yet this one the leaves are significantly smaller , I'm confused
@@EasyPeasyGardening No I mean if I dont propagate in water instead I just do my cutting and plant in soil before it started to root, will it grow roots soon?

Just plant the broken stem in a separate planter and keep it inside in a well lit area.
@@EasyPeasyGardening sure will try thanks
How to dry these n use them in d kitchen? Or r they just decorative oregano...
I have never done it myself. I have dried the regular oregano leaves but not this one because I don't use it
Thank you for the video! The stems on my cuban oregano has that same brownish color. Is that normal?
May be it's woody, a long as it has healthy leaves, don't worry about it
@@EasyPeasyGardening Thank you for the reassurance! I was a little worried that it may be root rot but now I feel better 🙏
I have some on my nursery in Mims, FL if anyone needs some, pick up only.
Can I use the same way for mexican mint. Just cut and put in soil
I don't know about Mexican mint but yes, most mints can be propagated in water
Check my mint propagation video

Liked the video - subscribed your channel - sharing in garden group - thanks plant parent
mine is about 5.5 ft now, from a tiny cutting
Awesome. How long did it take?
@@EasyPeasyGardening around 2-3 years, it would have been faster but in between I moved during winter and it almost killed it, but it bounced back :)
Hi mam can I grow this indoor?
May be near the window but it will become leggy
