Regarding your comments about swing weight, was your racquet actually around the TW number of 318 when strung? I'm asking because some reviewers have commented that their racquet actually specced out just below 310 when strung.
Very insightful review! What a coincidence, my string of choice is actually also luxilon savage black but at 45 lbs full bed. I haven’t hit with it yet and glad that you like that string in the new EZ98!
Really nice review, you probably only need 1 to 1.5g of lead tape at 12 with the lower swing weight for plough through, I would not add any more to keep the weight down so that way you can swing faster, if you thought it played with Poly Tour Pro then you need to try it with Ply Tour Rev with 45lbs on mains and 43 on crosses.
Nice review. I just got Ezone 98 L 2022, added some lead tape on the sides (3 and 9) and some inside the cap to keep it slightly headlight.. (total weight now 314 g )I feel like I can't plough through like my old Pro Staf 97L and ended up tensing up my arm and not able to swing freely. I bought Ezone due to tennis elbow injury.. I will try adding some weight on 12, hoping it won't change the balance too much. I like the Ezone for volleys but not the feel on ground strokes so far. I have LXN ALU Power 123 at 48 lbs. Only played it once, still need time to adjust. thanks
Being an Eastern forehand grip user, do you shy away from 16 X 19 patterns? I wish I could keep balls in the court but find regrettably that I cant use them. Vcore 95 is as "open" as I can go, which cuts out over 1/2 the market for me

For sure I tend to be very comfortable with tighter string patterns, however, recently I have started to enter some competitions again and actually I am finding a controlled 16x19 pattern is working better for me. I seem to generate enough spin for balls not to launch and a slightly more open pattern seems to give me more insurance over the net for aggressive play . Head radical pro, blade 16x19 and extreme tour would be my tournament picks. I have had to work on my forehand since returning to tennis, getting more wrist lag and closing my stance has had a big positive impact on my forehand. Cheers
Have you tested the latest VCore Pro 97 310g (not the one you have tested). Its great stick but you have to add 4 g total at the 2 & 10. Lux Element 1.25 at 51/49. Tried lots of strings it plays well with element. Please review. Also Angell K7 Red? Have you tested it? Luv to get your opinion.
What customization do you recommend for this racquet? I tried with a gram and a half in the head, but I feel that you can still dare more because it remains playable and fast! i'm using yonex fire, have you tried poly rev?
Which top 3 strings you recommend and tensions? Im torn between confidential and grapplesnake, I do 24 or 25 kgs mains and 1 gram less on cross, 1.15 mm confidential.
I had a question about grip size. Did you feel that the Yonex grip ran significantly larger than other brands such as Wilson or Head or was it comparable? I am trying to decide whether to stick with my 3/8 or go down to 1/4 if I buy this frame.
Hello. I am almost ten years Yonex user and answering Your question: Yes, Yonex grips are larger than Wilson and Head. I used to use L3 grip with Wilson and Head and I had to go down to L2 grip with Yonex definitely to maintain the same feeling. Hope that helped. Regards🙂
What I have heard EZ98 is better ,at least from many different rackets testers on YT. They are all saying it’s the best Yonex racket yet ,along side EZ100.
