    We had a great game of O Group this weekend (6mm winter Russian Front) and had a blast. Thanks for the great rules and the helpful videos. Our intent is to fight a big battlegroup action in a few months when we are all together. We done!

    I discovered this rules a couple of weeks ago, at first I was a bit skeptical about the design. I must say that I was completely wrong. They are great, these videos are awesome if you want to speed the learning curve of the game. I can't wait to pmay my firts game, hopefully this weekend. Cheers from the Canary Islands. Great work David and TFL staff

    I've enjoyed the whole series of AARs here (and the rules expose contained within)! Going to miss watching these videos, if that's what's planned, but will look forward to getting the rules here in the Midwest USA pretty soon. Thanks much to Rich, Dave, and Chris for delivering some great entertainment, and an enticing intro to 'O' Group!

    Dear Rich and Dave! Thank you for these wonderful videos! I feel I'm learning the rules on the go before even reading them, which is fantastic! I can't wait to get the rules in my hands (or head) and looking at my available forces to see if I need to build anything else to start playing the game ASAP. And what I definitely missing is patrol markers. I would love to make some scenic bases with recon troops, but I'm wondering what should be the size of the marker? Should it be 40mm diameter as those poker chips you guys use or I can go with anything round, like 30mm or 50mm plastic base?

      Any size you like, but I wouldn't go much larger than say 50mm for 15mm or smaller figures.

    Preordered and can't wait! Sending out international orders first is much appreciated Rich, it's surprising how many UK based companies don't give a fig for their OS customers.

    Another great video, and as Derek said, it keeps looking better and better. Loving the mechanics, the ambush in particular seemed a simple solution to thr complex problem of modelling ambushes.

    Maybe a rather silly question however I'm solo and so far so good , but the sets of tokens do I need a full set for each force ( attacker and defender ) or just one set of tokens covering both side ?

    • @toofatlardies
      @toofatlardies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One set will cover both forces in most normal situations.

    • @robinbracey2676

      @@toofatlardies Thank you for your time in replying and making that clear, I would not have minded purchasing another set but at least I can get on with learning the system now rather than trying to fathom out why the difference in numbers as some token amounts made perfect sense while other's such as the six ' Command orders ' made me raise the question as I thought they were HQ orders so would require six each side , but of course the dice located on the HQ base are for that aren't they so again thank you .

    Out of interest, are the rules granular enough to account for flank or rear shots to tanks? Or is only a single armour value assigned?

    • @ruckandmaul5018
      @ruckandmaul5018 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both Front Armour factor and Flank/Rear Armour factor.

  • @Hedgehobbit

    That artillery strike seemed improbably effective against tanks.

    • @ruckandmaul5018
      @ruckandmaul5018 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you consider that the artillery was probably 152mm howitzers and then add to that three out of the four attacks rolled very high and well over the average; yet no tank sections were knocked out. Lots of suppressed tanks and some Damaged, yet all the shock can be rallied off in future turns.

    What armies can you play in Ogroup?

    • @ruckandmaul5018

      German, British, US, Russian, French, Dutch, Belgian, Italian and soon Hungarian, Romanian and Finnish as well.

    @36 minutes the right hand panzers move out of the beaten zone to avoid taking more shock.
    However, one of them is suppressed. Obviously you can still withdraw in this instance?
    PS looks a great set of rules

    • @ruckandmaul5018
      @ruckandmaul5018 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, suppressed units can automatically retreat out of an artillery beaten zone. Attempting to withdraw suppressed units under other circumstances is more difficult.

    Spotted two errors I think. The Pz3 should have had a -1 to hit as it is low velocity and the BT7's react fired without paying an order? Great rules though.

    I'm really looking forward to these rules. I'm keen to find a method of converting my 20mm, 1:1 troops into playable units. It shouldn't be difficult.

    • @sirrathersplendid4825
      @sirrathersplendid4825 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Likewise. Don’t think it will be a problem, especially if your troops are mounted individually. Just plop three of them onto a sabot base and you have the basic building block of all armies. I imagine the individual basing will even be an advantage as you can remove them to depict casualties/ suppression level instead of using separate markers.

    • @Ian_KH
      @Ian_KH 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sirrathersplendid4825 That's what I'm thinking. I pretty much have a basic company (with various options) for most of the major European theaters, and I figure a company should convert to a battalion pretty comfortably.
