@@RichardRichardman the issue with tas-ing hk is that a lot of the enemy behaviors are framerate-dependent, and since you can't get the game to run at exactly the same fps all the time the playback is always going to be different enough to desync
Getting hit by every attack would actually be a hard challenge, as you would have to make sure you have not only enough health, but also make sure you get by every enemy's individual attack, I.e traitor mantis slash and leap slash
In hollow knight, you have the normal players, going to the end of the game without doing the harder stuff. Then, you've got the good players, who completed every challenge in the game, even the hardest ones like obtaining weathered mask and such things. Then, you've got the excellent players. The ones able to beat pantheon of hallownest with all the bindings at once, or beat abs radiance in radiance mode five times in a row. Then, you've got the speedrunners. Damn.

I also get slowly better at this game, noticed it strongly in my second playthrough of the white palace. Was many times easier as the first time. i have abouit 11 hours in the game so far. been trying to do Trial of the Fool for an hour now. i got frustrated. decided to look this up. and now i realize just how many skills/abilities i dont have. i have no idea what this guy is doing 80% of the time. i've just been jumping around and slashing and meanwhile this guy has wings, some other massive magic attacks, a spin slash, and a sword that one hits half the stuff.

Uh how are you doing so much damage? How are you one hitting those death loodles at 4:00? You aren't doing nail arts there...killing them too fast. Even with pure nail and unbreakable strength they still take two normal nail hits.
