This to Dear Mama by Tupac Shakur has been the most requested on our channel since we uploaded Brenda's Got a Baby. I really wanted to bring this song for our for many reasons. One because Alexis is a new mom of a young son and I thought that she would really appreciate the message. The second reason is because my mom passed away less than a year ago and this had special meaning for us. My mom did not like rap. She was an old school country music fan but she loved this song. There are many parallels between Pac's mom and my mom's story. We discuss that in the .

Tupac is an almost perfect example of the duality of man. He was so conscientious and showed how much he cared about others more than himself. You could tell his heart was pure gold and if he loved you, he would do anything for you.... but if you crossed him, he would bring a wrath down on you with his lyrics that few others could do as effectively as he did. The biggest shame of it all is how much his early demise robbed the world of such an incredible talent.

My son played this for me when he was in high school. I was a single mother of 3 and had my own struggles when they was younger with drugs and we was poor but I loved them. This was hard to hear at first but I get it and I'm glad he played it for me. 😢

This is a true representation of the fact that mother's are still imperfect human beings ,like everyone else and no matter their weaknesses, their inability or ability, their struggles...mental, emotional or physical , one thing that is certain, there's no doubt in the infinite amount of love that a momma feels for her children. This touched my heart . My kids are young adults. It was hard for me ,having Asperger's and I struggled with rising up to societies standards. I remember going outside of my comfort zone to pull off miracles and though it was a lot for me , the next person may have found it to be not as big of a deal to accomplish. I lived on welfare, tapped into every resource imaginable, anything I could round up , to make sure they were happy and healthy, spent tons of times crying to myself wishing I could excel like most of the population. But one thing I did excel in was loving my children. Making best of decisions possible in every scenario. I'm proud of all the side talks, advices, deeper talks and experiences we shared. They all are very loving and kind , and have such great hearts and minds. They love ALL people and take time with those who need it because I showed them to be compassionate. I hear this song and I just get chills throughout my body and cry , and all I heard was the beginning. Forever a song that's a classic . It'll never die. ❤️ To you two , thank you for sharing this video,I'm positive Tupac is flying high and simply proud of your respect for him ,his momma and his work.

This song hits me deep. My life almost mirrors Pacs life minus becoming a wealthy rapper. But my pops abandoned us in his grandmothers garage and told my moms he was going out to look for work and never came back. When he passed away at the age of 53 my older brother and sister were crying and went to his funeral and burial. They came to my house to ask me to pay for the funeral and burial since I was the only one with money and they was broke. I said sorry but I don’t know him and they got upset and left. They had to cremate him and well I felt nothing because the only memory I had of him was when I was 3 years old him chasing my moms with a knife and I grabbed him by his lower leg screaming for him to leave my mom alone. Then him leaving us in that garage when I was still 3. My moms was everything to me, she passed 5 years ago and the pain of losing her is still there. If you haven’t told your moms she is special and that you love her to death make sure you do because they need to hear it.🙏🏾

I played this for my mother at age 14 she passed away in 2019 for a while I couldn’t even hear the song with out shedding a few tears I remember she cried when she heard it I didn’t know anything about mourning but I mourned for a while because while she was passing I had to be strong for everyone else but yeah it’s pretty deep for me great video ❤

Let it be known(for those who don't know) that Tupac finally met his real father after this song was made who visited him at the hospital when Tupac was shot. Looks just like him. When interviewed, he said that he didn't know he had a son because he had broken up with Pac's mom due to her drug addiction and she had moved out west. I’m 47 raised in the South Bay Area and here in the Bay Area we have had so many talented rap artists that were taken away to soon and that all left there mark on so many people,Tupac was a gift and born a diamond in the rough all his struggles in life helped give him so much resilience,he touched hearts and tattooed his fans in the soul not the flesh,Tupac had so many songs that would move us,that made us think deeper to try harder to reach an apex I know for me Tupac influenced me to be a better version of myself to my children to my family and to learn more about so many subjects in life,Tupac was not just a rapper he was such a man that words can’t impress on some little comment section, I’ve always believed he was a patron saint for those In hopelessness and of poverty. Many will deny this but his fans know what I mean he’s been a medicine for me since 1990 I was 14 then, digital underground had some great songs and the production by shock-g was incredible to say the least but they gave Tupac his first major appearance and that’s what grabbed me and we’ll I was welded for life to 2pac as it was written on his early albums..Tupac had so many great plans for so many people and wanted to really do the real work that isn’t being done to help the poor especially children! He was so special. His lyrics were so deep and came straight from the heart. Doesnt matter if you like rap or not, 2pac was so articulate, so much emotion in his songs. Taken too early, did so much in such a short time and you can't help but think what else he would've been able to do? So good to see more people experience his music, alot of great messages in his songs.
