- One day summit push to Wilder Freiger, one of the famous "7 Summits" of Tirol. We parked our car at the parkplace "Nürnberger Hütte" and continued in the direction of Nurnberg hut. The hut being known as a famous destination for mountaineers and families lies on the altitude of 2278 meters. The path later brought us to a plateau called Seescharte(2762m). It is a very scenic place from where we could already see the summit of Wilder Freiger. The following path leads through a ridge that separates the south glacier of Wilder Freiger. The views are getting better and better with altitude. We reach the summit not so long after and enjoy the beautiful view of the highest peaks of Tirol. It was an exceptional day !
Eine Hochtur auf den Wilder Freiger über die Nürnberger Hütte(2278m) und Seescharte(Normalweg)(2762m). Die war auch eine Tagestur mit etwa 2000 hm und 20km. Sonnst ist diese Route nicht technisch schwierig, aber für eine Tagestur muss man im guten Form sein. Die Ausblicke sind phänomenal, mann sieht die höchsten Berge Südtirols. Es war ein wunderschöner Tag auf einem der 7 Gipfel(7 Summits) Stubaitals.

Hi, do I understand correctly that this is not a glacier tour? I am asking because I would do it solo and would avoid glacier. From what I see there are fixed cables, but do you need ferrata equipment? Thanks for the video.

Exactly, on this route you avoid the glaciers completely, not needing any kind of ropes. In my opinion even the ice axe and crampons are not as necessary, because the snowy part is very secure and unexposed and not steep at all. No ferrata equipment needed, If you have some experience. The section with the fixed cables is also not very long and also not as exposed. It is possible to solo this tour without problem. If you do it in a day be sure to start early as there is a very high possibility for afternoon storms in the summer. Other than that it is a really beautiful tour with amazing landscape and views.

@@jaythinking Another way to avoid the glacier would be via the "Freigerscharte" and "Roter Grat". In this case you follow the ridge, which is the Austrian/Italian border, to the summit of "Wilder Freiger".

Yes that is correct ! We started quite early and had a really good pace. We were back down around 5 or 6 in the afternoon. For a day tour it is advised to be in good condition, especially because the altitude could affect you aswell.

Paar Fragen. Der ganze Weg über Rotgrat Freigerscharte Signalspitze zum Becherhaus ist komplett Gletscherfrei? Und von Freigerscharte bis Signalspitze und zum Becherhaus ist der Grat sehr ausgesetzt? Und wisst ihr ob der Weg über die Gamsspitze zum Becherhaus auch Gletscherfrei ist?

@@Marrkse ich war vor einer Woche auf dem Habicht Elfer und Burgstall und stand vor dem freiger am grünausee aber da ich leider kein Platz mehr im becherhaus bekam machten wir freiger nicht.. Es gibt aber viele Wege zu ihm

@@paulsevenitz616 Sind in Neustift los an der Nürnberger Hütte vorbei und über die Freiger Seen zur Roten Grat Scharte. Dann eben übern Grat zum Freiger. Zurück dann an Gamsspitzl und Urfallspitze vorbei via Seescharte und dann wie nach oben wieder zurück.
Bedingungen waren sehr gut wirklich viel Gletscher hat man ja nicht dabei und bei den Stücken wo man drüber muss haben wir Spaltentechnisch nichts gesehen. Sind dann im Endeffekt auch den kompletten Weg in Trailrunning Schuhen gegangen.
