I don’t know how it works there, but the water company I have charges per 1000 gallons. And 1000 is the minimum. If you use 500 gallons per month you’re still paying for 1000.
Mine has a monthly minimum of $20. I was not trying to save water at all and between me and a roommate we rarely got one more than $20 (excluding the month my tub faucet thing completely failed and we got a $50 bill lol)

I mean, when we have leftover spaghetti sauce I usually freeze it and add it to the next batch. Usually I make a double batch of it, freeze half right away but there's only 3 of us so even after 2 nights of spaghetti we may have a cup or 2 of sauce leftover. I'll freeze it and add it to the next leftover batch or use it for pizza sauce or anything else I need spaghetti sauce for. That said, I'm talking about freezing what is leftover either in the pot I cooked it in or the Tupperware in the fridge the next day after everyone has eaten what they wanted, not scraping it out of individual plates that people have eaten out of. That's gross. Because my oldest child moved away and the one still at home is a teenager who has a job several evenings a week and doesn't always eat at home (plus I grew up as the oldest in a family of 7 and did a lot of the cooking as I got older), I end up with a bunch of leftovers that I sometimes freeze. Things like spaghetti sauce or chili or meatballs or casseroles can take awhile to prep everything and assemble so it's just as easy to do more, freeze some so that way when I'm tired next week or my back is killing me 2 weeks from now, I can thaw it and reheat it instead of spending a few hours preparing it then cleaning up again. But food from people's plates? Wtf.

I am a butcher and can verify that no self-respecting meat department will sell expired stuff and the ground beef is literally garbage after one day in the case. We can't regrind or reuse stuff like that.

Dishwasher heating element is almost the same as the one in an oven - but it works on lower amperage so uses more power in the long run. I guess if you wash dishes and do lasagna at the same time it might save something but the cost of tin foil offsets that. Genius!

I love a lot of youtube channels but you're probably the only creator that I've seen essentially their entire catalog and get bummed that there isn't more content. You have a gift for this and you're very relatable, humble, yet impeccable with your comedic timing and skits. I am a butcher and can verify that no self-respecting meat department will sell expired stuff and the ground beef is literally garbage after one day in the case. We can't regrind or reuse stuff like that.

@@Chuck_EL Honestly, buying beef fat from a butcher is not a bad idea if you're looking to make beef tallow. A jar of that stuff will cost you ten dollars. I've wanted to try deep frying in beef tallow to see how fries taste since that's what McDonald's and every other fast food restaurant used a long time ago. But the price keeps me from doing that.

Dishwasher heating element is almost the same as the one in an oven - but it works on lower amperage so uses more power in the long run. I guess if you wash dishes and do lasagna at the same time it might save something but the cost of tin foil offsets that. Genius!
I think the only thing I would be concerned about in dishwasher land is that somehow left over detergent covering the thing: not sure if I would pull that with guests :/
Yeah, it's like there's a reason normal people bake things in ovens. The process works well. Same thing with constantly handling the lightbulb to move it around the house. Sure you think you're being clever but doing things the weird way is likely costing money.

Chris, I'm a big fan and subscriber to the same type of content creators you mention you enjoy as well (Cody Ko, Danny Gonzalez, etc) and it blows my mind that you're only at 40k subs. I love a lot of youtube channels but you're probably the only creator that I've seen essentially their entire catalog and get bummed that there isn't more content. You have a gift for this and you're very relatable, humble, yet impeccable with your comedic timing and skits.
I promise you one of these days one of your vids will get noticed on the algorithm (my sister is a youtuber with 1 mil subs and as you know a lot of it has to do with luck and timing which happened to her), and then your channel will blow up the way it's meant to and I want to be one of the ones who called it first.
