Thanks for this conversation. It’s so great to hear the ‘good and the bad’ about turn keys, and property investing in general, from successful real estate investors. This is especially true when you discuss some of the troubles you’ve had, and it helps me realize that sometimes there are bumps in the road that happen to all of us. All in all, I think I’ll keep buying turn key real estate.

ah! I love this! Thanks for sharing it. Have you bought turnkeys already? How have they been for you?

I have been investing in turn key properties for a few years now. Some of them have been amazing and never seem to cause any problems- I wish they could all be like that. I have one particular property that seems to require maintenance all the time and it’s generally a pain in the butt! A couple of your videos really resonated with me because I had some large expenses (HVAC, dead tree removal, window replacement) last year that really ate up some reserves and I was kind of bummed out. Just hearing Scott’s stories about some of his issues makes me realize that I’m not alone in my experiences, and that this stuff just happens sometimes. The video you did about some investors who gave up on rentals because of big expenses was particularly good, and it really helped me to stop freaking out and stay the course. Before I watched that, I felt like I was doing something wrong and was asking myself a lot of questions. Hearing other investor’s stories really puts it all in perspective, so thank you for that.

Whew! This is so amazing you share this. It really is true- we can be so fast to think we're doing something wrong or have failed. I wish I could shout from the rooftops how it's 100% part of the process. Know how I know? Because....to be cliche....if it were that easy everyone would do it. Anyone can invest a rental property. But things will go wrong- there's no way around it. But it's the REAL investors who stick with them and maneuver things so that they continue to work. So, you're doing it. You're doing great! With that one property, have you considered selling it? Some properties can be a little lemony sometimes. Potential for it aside, if it's bringing you nothing but frustration, that's enough to warrant considering replacing it in my book.
