This broke my heart. The poor guy spent a lifetime to collect and maintain this collection and then it’s sold as soon as he passes away. It’s a shame he didn’t leave the collection to his buddy in his will there so it would go into good hands and not some greedy bastard who’s going to resell it all. What a shame.
That's what i was just thinking... man, children can be such aholes ... it's not like he was collecting crap or idk something that wasn't a nice reminder of their father... hell he was on a collectors association, seriously and the guy there on camera being so fake ass proud , but about what he's going to make, not about what it means. UGH
You can't expect 100k+ cars to be kept just for the sake of sentimental value. Here's a scenario; your great great grand parents left behind a huge random collection of items you have no interest in, would you really want to store all that stuff in your house just for that sake? Collecting is fun but we really shouldn't base our existence solely on materialistic items, our time on earth is temporary. Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Feeling like want to burial my collection into some place before u died...maybe left some treasure map for ppl to "treasure hunt" it...maybe it already over 100years😀
I collect hotwheels too, i dont do it for the investment i just collect what i love. but yes his collection is godly!! Proud of him and what he was able to attain during his yrs of collecting!! #diecastKING
I collect mint minus redlines and I don't really care about the investment so much. It's all about nostalgia and the love of cars. I am pretty grateful that almost all of my cars were bought at some pretty reasonable prices before it went crazy the last few years.
You guys are going to see my son on the news with his collection in about 40 years. We've got about 15,000 different pieces in our collection right now. I love collecting Hot Wheels with my son. And he won't let me open any 😂😂😂👍🏻❤
Probably was worth in the 6 digits for this collection when it was all together easily! Me sitting here thinking my 300ish unopened cars are alot and probably another 200-250 openend.... I aint got shit on some of these collectors haha
I know someone that has every car created besides the pink van and surfboard prototype. He is looking to possibly sell. Contact me if interested. Birthday cars Complete gold set written by collector in Hot Wheels magazine. Many of his cars featured in magazines over the years. He has cars with no bar code on the back of the cars. Back to the future hoverboard in silver bag. Otto signed stuff.
It’s not impressive! If u hung at Walmart, Ames, target, hills etc for the past 25 yrs u amassed all of this! Worthless saturated crap! It’s everywhere! Flea markets, ant shows! At the end of the day, u have tons of plastic bins in ur basement full of the same cars.....worthless! And u know u all do, hoping it’s going to go up in value....
Depends. I've been collecting for nearly 8 years now and some of the supers I've found. I sold for 70-80$, i only paid a dollar for them. It really depends on who's looking for them and if you know what you're looking for
This is so uninformed it hurts. Did you even pick up a Hot Wheels and look at the bottom? Made in Thailand or Malaysia!! The "American" brands like M2 Machines and Greenlight are the ones that are actually made in China!
NOW I hear about this! My hats off to the gentleman who collected this huge collection, I just hate I missed the sale.

That’s the downside of collecting anything, people will sell them for nothing as soon as your gone

That’s why I only collect the redlines. Like money in the bank.

It’s the journey not the destination….the man did something he enjoyed along he life journey and that’s what matters.
Screw made in communist china Hot Wheels! Vintage U.S.A. or England cars for me.
