As someone on the "tankie" political spectrum with roots on Arab heritage I've always appreciate all your interviews. It's been very illuminating to see different point of views with a good amount of critical thinking. My problem , sometimes, in the faith based podcast world there's not a lot of real depth and critical thinking. When you're in America you must interview brother Butch Ware, he is the embodiment of liberation theology at work in the Americas. And no, we have not forgotten Gaza 🔻🗝🍉
While I may not be your sister from Yemen, I definitely am hugely appreciative of brother Jalal. This was one of those rare moments where the person who's usually the host who mainly just asks questions is given an opportunity to speak, and then is in every way on the same level as his greatest guests. I don't want to overpraise brothers but this channel is constantly humbling, and it makes one feel how little they've done, and how they must do more.

Not to take anything away from Gaza, we have paid very little attention to the plight of the Rohingya and the Uyghurs. I believe that they are all linked and the same approach can be used to address all these issues. We need to pay more attention to the complicity of the Muslim majority countries and how to effect change there
I would definitely read a book about the ottoman empire. I feel like so many Muslims, including myself look back at that period of Muslim excellence (or at least that's how we imagine it) but have no idea of what the Empire was actually like. Please, write that book, inshahallah.

Dr Yakoob, please do write that book on Ottoman history. Anecdotally though I believe this issue may be systemic, I have found that most Muslims around the 25-35 mark have absolutely no realistic conceptual understanding of what an Islamic civilisation looks like. Either it is the overzealous approach where there are hand-amputation stations on every street corner or conversely they have given up on the idea due to pessimism. A work that informs the common reader of the methodologies and the approaches found within an Islamic civilisation like the Ottoman Caliphate would go a long way towards bringing the idea back into the minds of the common Muslims who have long ago accepted, internalised and dare not question the status-quo.

As someone on the "tankie" political spectrum with roots on Arab heritage I've always appreciate all your interviews. It's been very illuminating to see different point of views with a good amount of critical thinking. My problem , sometimes, in the faith based podcast world there's not a lot of real depth and critical thinking. When you're in America you must interview brother Butch Ware, he is the embodiment of liberation theology at work in the Americas. And no, we have not forgotten Gaza 🔻🗝🍉
While I may not be your sister from Yemen, I definitely am hugely appreciative of brother Jalal. This was one of those rare moments where the person who's usually the host who mainly just asks questions is given an opportunity to speak, and then is in every way on the same level as his greatest guests. I don't want to overpraise brothers but this channel is constantly humbling, and it makes one feel how little they've done, and how they must do more.

Not to take anything away from Gaza, we have paid very little attention to the plight of the Rohingya and the Uyghurs. I believe that they are all linked and the same approach can be used to address all these issues. We need to pay more attention to the complicity of the Muslim majority countries and how to effect change there
I would definitely read a book about the ottoman empire. I feel like so many Muslims, including myself look back at that period of Muslim excellence (or at least that's how we imagine it) but have no idea of what the Empire was actually like. Please, write that book, inshahallah.

Dr Yakoob, please do write that book on Ottoman history. Anecdotally though I believe this issue may be systemic, I have found that most Muslims around the 25-35 mark have absolutely no realistic conceptual understanding of what an Islamic civilisation looks like. Either it is the overzealous approach where there are hand-amputation stations on every street corner or conversely they have given up on the idea due to pessimism. A work that informs the common reader of the methodologies and the approaches found within an Islamic civilisation like the Ottoman Caliphate would go a long way towards bringing the idea back into the minds of the common Muslims who have long ago accepted, internalised and dare not question the status-quo.
