Having grown up on the south shore, with the Malvern branch going right behind my house I never saw too much of the diesel service, but saw lots of M1s and M3s every day (I moved out of NY before the M7s came into service). Lived 30+ years in Cheyenne, WY though so engine and horns of the SD70s and GEVOs is pretty much etched into my brain, and the occasional whistle from UP3985 and Big Boy 4014 as the UP steam shop is in Cheyenne. you also get quite the smoke and fire shows coming out the west end of Cheyenne as they throw the locos into notch 8 for the climb up Sherman HIll and the locos "clear their throat" so to speak as they burn off the soot in the turbos.
Always thought it looked funny seeing the normal cars come first and the locomotive in the back. Thanks for your videos, I used to live on Long Island and had the Montauk line right behind my backyard, down here in Florida there aren't many trains, nothing like home.
Great night shots there. Enjoyed the video!
Beautiful sunset. Good railroad action. Thanks Tim💚👌

Cheyenne home of the great UP
1:05 518 and 405 have the best K5LAs on the railroad
Another excellent video! Sure wish we had TH-cam in the 80s/90s and you on it. Would have been a great experience.
Glad to see you back on Long Island.
Still live here
Glad to see the Montauk Branch action again!!!
Love the LIRR. I hope to run into you at Northport or Jamaica someday!
7:23 I love the C3 Cab Car Horns
Whatever suits you
Beautiful I love to hear spaghetti 🍝 and meatballs and eat them too
Out of all 3 of the emu on the Long Island railroad which one in your opinion has the best horn?
Don't they all run the same horn? I grew up with a LIRR line right behind my house and the EMUs always sounded the same.
@@mrvwbug4423 the m9 run a completely different horn out of all of them
What's your favorite lirr train of all time?
Cannon Ball with solid parlor cars on it. It’s hard to say. Loved the FM’s and Alco’s
@@3985uprr do you by any chance view any of the older lirr yt footage from 30-40+ years ago?

You have an immense amount of knowledge about railroads you have to be a retired railroad engineer?
Nope. Just an ordinary citizen.
