Damn, this was fascinating! It's one of my favourite things to do in this mod - to slowly explore the big ruins (sometimes, they contain enemies that the owners of the colonies had while playing at the moment so it's dangerous).
If I'm not mistaken, you can enable big things spawning in your starting area in the settings. You'll get annihilated by the first raid, tho, as it all immediately adds to your colony's wealth.
most caravan quest are very easy. But ruins are some of the most difficult and can be the most lethal, nearly lost a group to a caravan run a while ago it had a LOT of mechanoids in it. we had cataphract armor/ marine/ flak with very late game weapons and we still nearly all died. had to send a rescue team to ensure they made it back and had sufficient numbers to fend off ambushes.
True Once i sent a caravan to a ruin found nearby. It was new, so i decided to loot. I sent a caravan (4 muffalos and a platoon of 14 strong; alot of ammo, semi and automatic rifles, well equiped and strong shooting skills), i didn't know that raids will occur so often and were the turrets are (the power was still on). 4 injuried (1 maimed) and 2 kills (1 by a turret well hided and 1 by pirates) But the ruin was full of components and metals, grab everything i can pack and run fast as fuck. I didn't want to suffer another huge raid
IIRC, there's a couple sliders that change how much wealth ruins will keep from the original bases and how much of the structures are deteriorated. I slid those up to max, as I like to see people's bases preserved.

Mmm this was awhile ago, but IIRC, I mostly cranked the sliders so that the ruins had more wealth and more remnants. Also changed the max wealth to the largest.
A fun thing to do with Real Ruins is guessing which rooms were used for committing war crimes and atrocities.
All of them.
More difficult to say wich were not used for crimes
Even better, make up stories about why they were abandoned and interesting events there
The blood helps.
it sometimes makes you wonder what the fuck were they building

Glad you liked it :)
And same. Exploring ruins is always the highlight of my games.
Just in case anyone wonders, the music comes from the P-Music mod
10/10 would recommend, best music when your enslaving humans whilst harvesting their hemoglobin as vampires.
An interesting idea for a starter scenario. Could be that you start in a giant ruin and try to rebuild it

@@kaschey6145 only if you claim it. Never claim anything other than doors.

You can also disable fog, in the command setting. Makes it easier then having to break things
But it removes the intrigue of what's hiding behind the doors ;)
i found 23 varometric power cell in the same ruin
I tried the mod but it's not giving me whole base ruins like this, but instead small clusters of 3x5 ruins, what are your settings?

That is a large base. I see you can open / deconstruct doors etc with one click. Is that a setting in this mod? Or another mod?
I was in Dev mode and hitting deconstruct.
What's the song?

Why you need to build base if you can just capture and repair some ruins lol
nice music and texture pack, subbed
which mod is that?
real ruins
Hey what are the settings u use for this mod
