Can't get rid of the f***ing POLICE!

  • Pakistan 40% dangerous?!, wtf man! I don’t understand what’s going on with Escort protocol. I’m out of Balochistan and still with Police escort and trying hard to get rid of them but they are well connected and won’t let go. It kind of ruins the whole experience for me but the cherry on top is the unexpected BOMB SQUAD searching my hotel…this is insane! Come on Pakistan, for real? And who is paying for that?

@mikethebikemt07tracer feel sorry for him too but this is obviously NOT a message to avoid Pakistan at all costs. This is simply the issue when travelling on road. Check out the travel vlogs from so many other TH-camrs, they do not have the same experience simply because their walking amongst the people, visiting shops, being unable to pay for food because the Pakistani people will not let a guest pay!
Don't mixup his experience, this is a bike vlog (on a bike on the roads where its known amongst anyone who goes there, police stop you regularly)
This does not happen on all the other hundreds of vlogs eg food vlogs because the people are very friendly and overly generous

Iran/Turkey/Armenia/Greece/UAE are the definition of countries that are NOT to be looked at as 'transit'. Those are special places with a special history and/or nice infrastructure (UAE). Those are places to actually spend time in as a tourist. Disclaimer: Turks are a bit hot headed in my experience.

From my understanding (but I've just watched TH-camrs visit), is that the government does not control the whole country. Big areas are controlled by clans, who might find some way to make money off you (or swap you against a friend of them in prison). The government decided that it's cheaper to keep the tourists safe by giving them a guard, than get the whole country under their control.

They're keepinng you safe from remote areas. Thats why they are with you 24/7. some areas are remote for foreigners so its a duty for Pakistani police to make yourself safe from any danger and stuff. yes I know its so frustrating to have some one with you all the time but if some thing happened to you then its the whole image of Pakistan which is going to be ruined in world. We try our best to make Pakistan safe for you. you definitely have met with amazing and friendly people of Pakistan. Pakistanis are the most heart warming people in the world. You cant find this type of hospitality in any place especially not in west. As a Pakistani living in Germany I can surely know how Pakistani treat foreigners and how western treat foreigners. Enjoy your journey in Pakistan. and just remember Police is there for your own safety.

The Pakistani state is just insecure and scared of its own people. Its insane! I am from Pakistan and even while entering the place where I live in police stopped me for a random check -_-. I fought back and and yelled at them alot which was stupid as they could has easily planted something inside my bag or pocket and just blamed it on me. Thankfully they thought I was under 18 and just a boy so they let me go. The state is just hostile.

Brother sad to hear that you was feeling trouble travel to Pakistan, it's a long story that why they ascort foreigner all the way and accommodation, that all was for your own safety, ya travel, freedom, everything but precautionary measure make things easier like if your bike charger without safety plug is more risky ya right, when a person secure a other on a Cliff hiking with safety gears, I don't think that is bad thing even if he don't. People have different perspective, hope you don't mind, and good luck.

Not much good can be said about the loading condition of the trucks in Pakistan ;) But in terms of the richness of ornamentation on some of them, no one can match those in Pakistan, and I think in India too. It's incredibly ornate and intricate.
As far as the police escort is concerned... Rufus seems really pissed off by now, much more than Marc... and who can blame them. You'd think the authorities were just trying to get you across the country as quickly as possible, wrapped in absorbent cotton
