A few more tips. A turtle neck is great for keeping warm. Wear a therma care heat wrap on you lower back, it warms your core. Winter golf gloves with hand warmers worn across the back of your hand where it won’t impede your swing. Polar fleece socks. Flannel lined pants. With thees tips I have played every year until it gets down to close to 0° Celsius. It helps to find a course that is protected from the wind.
In the western US, we get what we call "winter roll". The dormant grass makes balls roll forever. Courses play like links and you have to account for the roll. ;)
Useful video, It gets cold in Western North Carolina and I'll be sure to use these tips. One I would add is that under my waterproof pants, I will wear a pair of running pants because they are tighter fitting and warmer.
Southern USA is a bit different. Our Bermuda greens go dormant and tend to be faster. Softer balls feel so much better off irons than harder balls especially with our humidity and colder air together. More club into greens, yes. Knit cap but I still use a ball cap or visor over it to cut sun glare especially with the sun lower in the sky all day.. Two gloves isn't a bad idea to keep hands warm.
If your ego is t too big a push caddy is essential in the winter. I don’t have three hands so the push caddy holds my umbrella to keep at least something dry. Here in the PNW playing in rain in the winter is a given, I’d throw in there waterproof shoes too. Nothing worst than wet feet playing in the rain.
How are these "hacks?" A "hack" is bringing a pair of rubber gardening gloves in case it gets really wet. Swinging with your grip wrapped in a towel when everything is soaked. Or telling your playing partners to stand behind you because that's the only place the club won't hit them if it flies out of your hands. Or keeping an extra gloves and towel inside plastic bags. Or carrying a giant trash bag to cover your clubs or yourself if you don't have rain gear. Or covering your scorecard with a something so it doesn't get wet. Or covering your hat with a plastic bag in light rain. Or carrying a stiff bristled brush in your car so you can clean your shoes ...
Alcohol keeps you "feeling" warm after a few. You've pretty much hit all the good ones. Some people may not agree, but you can play with preferred lies. Clean golf ball every strike.
Your info is good for the UK and the northern US but down here in Fl the info is wrong. Here most of the people play from mid-fall till mid or late spring. Earlier during that span ground is still boggy from all the rain we get during the summer. As time goes by the dryer it gets. it will get so dry in the spring that a lot of the ponds and lake edges are widened about a yard or two.
Good and informative video! I'll be borrowing a few of these tips as I try to extend my golf season into the cold months here in the northeast USA.
Bro...I'm taking my cart bag and push cart. The umbrella holder is essential, as is the big cart bag to pack extra layers, a thermos of hot coffee,
Big mug of tea with you, and biggest hack is manage your expectations, you breaking records in 3 degrees wind and rain, but you can still enjoy it!!

So what you just cruise around the Internet and leave A-hole comments. 🙄

Nice tips. I live in Colorado and it’s possible to play year round. A lot of cold rounds but still fun.

Good pair of waterproof golf shoes without any holes in the soles!
I use seamless thermals for under the trousers when it gets below 10c they work brilliantly.
I bring an awl with me. It’s like a screwdriver but with a point. I use it set tees into the frozen tundra.
No need for that. I belong to a private club. If the ground is that frozen, the course is closed. No sense in damaging the course.
Thanks for sharing. Great tips!

A warm toque is a must. Worn over baseball cap

Those hand warmers are a game changer lol
Great ping advert...
amazing how these one man channels make better content with more integrity and frequency than these outdated magazines and companies
Waterproof socks, nice and warm too
I’m from California. I can get frostbite from a drop of rain.
get a yellow ball when yellow and orange leaves fall from trees. noted.
My best winter hack is, I don’t play during the winter 😂
Same here lol!
Gotta itch the itch boys
And I thought I loved Ping. I was waiting on him to show his Ping undies
he did. thet was the collar he pulled up to show off.
Glad I'm not the only one that noticed. It was like that product placement scene from Wayne's World

and here I thought winter golf hacks were people you see on the course in the snow.
World's longest ping advertising video. Next time make it more subtle 🙃🧐🙄
NB I like ping gear and technology. But this long ad is awful
Clean faces after each shot !
Alcohol keeps you "feeling" warm after a few.

Some good tips but would any amateur golfer where ‘wearable’ hand warmers. Did Ping sponsor this video?
tip #1: keep the ball in the fairway, once you start searching for the ball in the rough your shoes will get wet and socks too and it sucks
This doesn't work in Minnesota
Can I get one of those Beanies!? Such a sick one
I live in Canada, I do not play in the winter
Ping Ping Ping Ping! That’s all this was about
I live in Chicago... Golf in winter is not an option
I play in winter but it does get pretty nasty! I'm in the south burbs.
@@mistahshorthitter I know there is a course in Kankakee area that stays open all year.
But I am in the Joliet area and don't know of any around here.
Joliet Park District courses stay open as long as there is no snow on the ground and temps are decent (35-40degrees).
Not exactly hacks, more like the blatantly obvious

This is basically no advice... Just ping products.
As a viewer in Colorado, I feel very confused about all these wet weather tips.
