The GE90 holds the Guiness Book of World Records for thrust at 127,900 pounds of thrust.
That is about 2.5 times a737 engine's thrust. The diameter of the GE 90 is also equal to the diameter of a 737's cabin.

I visited London Luton Airport last week while seeing my girlfriend and somehow found myself standing a mile from the end of the runway, a B772 had just taken off and I was almost convinced there was a nearby explosion. The rumble and growl was so relentless when it passed me. Best noise ever. I am addicted now.

Flew in Boeing 777's with all 3 engines: GE90, Rolls Royce Trent 800, and the Pratt & Whitney 4090 series. I have to say that the PW engines make a very loud "mooing" noise while taxiing as well as a deeper one whenever they spool up for takeoff. The RR Trent 800 I would say kind of gives a smooth flight. But I would definitely take a GE90 out of any of these since they tend to be one of the quietest, but most powerful along with the Trent XWB engines, and offer a smooth and reliable flight.
As for the 777 variants, I'm am more of a fan of the Next Generation aircraft - the 777-200LR and 777-300ER since their in flight service is great and they provide longer distance and more reliability.

Balázs Szalay The GE90 have a larger engine, it's a little bit quieter, bass sound and it's the only option for B777-200/LR, B777-300/ER and B777F. The RR Trent is a little bit smaller and sound like a buzzsaw (hard to hear in this video, but you can search for it), more treble. It can be found in the B777-200 (and also in /ER) and in the B777-300.
Only in 2:39 (Singapore) and in 8:27 (Malaysia) we can see RR. All the others are GE.

Easy way to tell if GE90 - it is largest diameter turbofan engine ever produced. Noticeably larger than RR. Rr is still using titanium fan blades. Limits engine size (can't make fan any longer physically or will not withstand force). GE is using composite fan blades. The GE is the most powerful engine option for the 777 (and holds Guinness world record thrust). GE engine produces about 10k more lbs thrust on commercial 777 but not all carriers need that. It's more expensive engine. So depends on needs.

athos Paf The two last numbers stands for the "client code" to the planes made by boeing. In this case, it is -224 because it was ordered by continental airlines, before its merge with united airlines. Well, that's all I know.

Unfortunately, The Singapore Airlines B777-200er's engines were PW4068. Nice but not the level of GE90
