Okay before anyone comments on this again for the love of God please watch the next video I made regarding this subject. I criticized the game and myself for this video. Please at least skim it before commenting on this video about my toxic positivity. I know 😂 I'm just tired of responding the same thing dozens of times. Thank you kindly. Stay blessed.
I think SOME of the criticism is valid. I am furious with all the game breaking bugs i deal with on a daily basis. Bugs that they say they have fixed when they in fact have not. I just feel that they don't have their priorities straight.
I don't disagree that bugs are a huge issue. I just wish people could understand that the departments that work on these things have NOTHING to do with each other. The department fixing bugs has nothing to do with the outreach department, the art department, etc. Plus, for what its worth, I think they've done a pretty good job so far with the bug fixes. Day one had the most bugs ive ever seen, and most of them are completely eliminated. I understand where you're coming from though. Thanks for commenting.
So I have been playing hunt since just after beta and my view of the game is shifting towards the negative. I don't have problems with post Malone playing or promoting, that's good for the game, and the carnival event I'll wait and see how it goes before I say if it's good or bad. I am, however, if if the people who hates that ghost face was added, as he didn't fit the theme. I don't mind crossovers, but they would need to make sense if the theme, or else you're just opening it up to whatever crossover you want. A 90s slasher non supernatural character doesn't fit, just as Michael Mayers wouldn't either. But something more like Frankenstein, Dracula or a werewolf type would. The big reason why people say it feels like all they care about is money is because of all the skins, battle passes they are pushing while some day 1 bugs are still present and a lot of new ones are popping up. Some range from mildly inconvenient, like getting menu locked until you click on the party, to game breaking, like the mouse cursor one. I know they are different departments, but some bugs have to be patched quickly or else people will just drop it. As mentioned in a different post, the trade window being up to 800ms was a huge turn off for a lot of players when they said they were gonna restrict regions by ping, which they actually increased the threshold instead of decreasing it. Killing someone and dying a couple steps later feels like trash, and it's even worse for melee as there is no ping limit. You can actually look up a clip of someone dying 2s after shooting someone that had a bomb lance, then they die to his melee attack. The CODifying thing, imo, is a valid criticism because the UI is damn near ripped from war zone (albeit a wish knockoff version), along with things like the spear and revive bolts being added (which are both warzone items) and them saying they need to tone back special ammo, and then adding more to guns. I know they are taking some away, making then scarce, but some guns just need to be limited with the number of special types they can have. Also, adding problems to create fixes always feels bad from a gamer standpoint. Nerfing melee against bossed and weapons on the map, then adding the spear, which until recently, was the best melee because it has the farthest reach, was super spamable, a tool slot, and could be thrown quickly, while sprinting, to 1 shot to any part of the body was insane. The nerf to necro to make reviving harder, then adding revive bolts also felt like a slap in the face. There's other stuff too, but I'm hoping things do end up well. I still play and plan on playing for a while, but my intrest has definitely waned big time.
And do you know what is part of the reason, they seem to have weird priorities? Because some parts of this braindead Community cries only about stuff THEY want to be changed. Since the relaunch the thing you heard the most people cry about was the UI. Sure it isnt really something good, but i wouldve focused on gamebugs instead but no, every little crybaby had to cry about the UI, said it makes the game unplayable (when you spend only like 10% from the whole game time in it) and then they went like "hUh, WhY aRe ThEy OnLy FiXiNg ThE UI, dO tHeY dOnT sEe ThE bUgS OMG1!1!11!1!1 yeah man i really wonder why they dont fix the game bugs....
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial there is a really big problem even with the lore of the game, sadly it 's been removed acc... it was already sad to not be able to see the letters from fast events except from videos of other players, but now is an all time low. sadly
A few months ago, I made a post on the subreddit suggesting a dynamic PvP-focused gamemode on a smaller map. Dozens of people came by to say that it is stupid, it will never be a thing and that I should go play CoD. It was not two or three randos, there were at least a dozen commentators and basically all of them negative. Then Bounty Clash dropped and people loved it so much. So yeah, the devs shouldn't listen to 'the community' because 'the community' we can hear is not the actual players but a few toxic jerks in an echo-chamber
I said this long ago - ''the community'' is only 20k - 30k active players, that are mainly all driving the game in the wrong direction. Whereas there's 500k+ FPS players out there on all sorts of other FPS games that DON'T come to Hunt's feedback channels to let devs know what they'd like from the game. Clearly, if your game is doing THIS poorly playercount wise - you HAVE TO stop listening to your ''active playerbase'' and really take a good look at the game's core instead: you're not driving enough people to the game for a reason. That reason for Hunt being the overly large maps that feel empty with nothing to do on them. It's like a walking sim game with fps pve elements and sometimes pvp. optionally pvp. I will say tho, one compound felt a bit too small, they should make it like ''quarter sized'' gamemode next if anything. Take the big map, cut it in 4 quarter sized chunks and go.
The people with the strongest opinions, are often the loudest..🙄 But it got to be a balance, if devs only listened to greedy shareholders, the game loses its niche, and everybody would be running around in gingerbreadman skins trying to steal players from FrothNite ..and game 💀 I wonder also how many negative rewievs/comments about games dying are put out by bots from competing gamestudios. Roumors about games dying, is like the boogeyman of gaming industry these days. ..becoming more and more like the fashion industry😂
@@Daminionz Wow, this is definitely how MBAs/Corpo game execs look at it. Hunt, despite being nearly 6 years old, has managed to retain and actually grow(until very recently) a steady player-base in a highly crowded and competitive FPS marketplace. By making this game closer to its competitors and bungling it's 1896 update its actively losing its audience as evident by its steam player counts averaging lower than they were before the 1896 update.
@@Daminionz are you genuinely daft, you can just go play cawadewdy if you want that experience. Hunt has a playerbase because it has a distinct personality, trying to copy and compete with more popular games will only result in both failure and erasing that personality.
most of the people i know dont like clash or did not even try it once, i like it but still 80% of all people i know dont like it, so its not that everyone is a fan of it
The community was positive years ago. People don't like being lied to for years on end. The trade window being significantly reduced is a step in the right direction but that is something that never should have existed in the first place and removed years ago like the devs said they would. Major issues like region locking keeps getting dangled in front of of us like jangly keys to string us along and they have failed to follow through multiple times for years. The success of the game is not dependent on the players, only Crytek. They said they would get better servers, many times, for years, never happened.
I think its more of a problem that you think the devs said something like this, when they didnt. Back when they changed the trade system to make it "more fair" for high ping players, they communicated this that way, they stated they made the trade window more open, because people back then cried that they didnt got a kill, when they shot someone in their view. And after it they decided to let it that way. They only said now (for like some months) that they maybe wanna swap it back. The same with region lock, they always said the dont wanna do it, because they dont want people, who have friends far away to fell left out. They only recently said something about maybe changeing that. Maybe you need to listen better. Only fans cried that they want to have it changed, the devs only did for some months now, not years
Their word means nothing. The Roadmap had plenty of stuff that they came up with and labeled as something that the community asked. Regardless, there was a lot of good stuff there that we wanted. They all never happened. Crytek just altogether deleted the roadmap. Also, you could see since 2018, yes, since back then, that Crytek was already little by little changing the game to catter to a broader and more casual playerbase in order to attract new money. And here we are today...
@@darkcartman2826 No, they've talked about changing the trade window multiple times. They also said they would shorten the trade window when they implemented it if it was deemed as excessive. There was huge community backlash right away and the devs did nothing. The problem is you have a poor memory.
"Its 2024, to make money in a live service game you need to do crossovers. why be mad at the developers for things they cant change? push for change on a higher level." To push for change on a higher level youre going to need to influence those shareholder's wallets, too. That is the goal of critisizing the crossovers; to discourage people from buying the skins and make it less profitable and therefore less common in hunt. People review bombed the game because it works. People are flooding the subreddit because it works. I genuinely believe Hunt is currently at a point where the game will die if they keep trying to make it cowboy fortnite. Its being propped up almost solely by the dedicated playerbase because theyre the only ones who are willing to play the game in its current state (hardly functioning)
When you go and purposly remove lore from your game it does make it seam like you hate your own universe Edit: i know not alot of people cared about it but those of us that did engage with it had super cool [leonardo dicaprio whistle pointing meme here] moments every time something lore related happened in trailers. Having the old stories and books accessible in the game at all literally has 0 downside compared to them being deleted(maybe filesize by how large can a couple mp3’s an text realistically be?) and thrown into the void because an arbitrary event ended. If you came to hunt now instead of being able to check out the lore ingame(or id even take their website likr Riot does it for League) you‘d have to search the internet for hours for the old ingame event lore pages, audio recordings etc and you have no guarantee you found it all. Did the lore have ups and downs too? Absolutely, like every story, and retcons are fine too but this isnt a retcon it is just akin to pressing delete and acting like nothing ever mattered.
To be fair, the lore books as a concept sucked. It was filler back when the game was still in early access. Kill some monsters/bosses and you get a couple scraps of lore. My hope here with removing it is that Crytek is going to improve the way they convey lore to us. Yes it’s good that the stories are voice acted and all but my issues with it are: 1. The writing isn’t awful per se but it does feel like I’m reading a riddle most of the time. 2. We only get stories with Events. It’s ridiculous that the stories only come out with the events. It would be nice during the “off season” between events that we get a quest line to follow that has a story attached to it. It’s also ridiculous that when the event ends you can no longer go back and read the story. 3. No context. It is very difficult to know what the fuck is even going on because the game does next to nothing to give you any background information up front. If you did a poll, I would bet that more than half of the people who play Hunt do not know that the Sculptor is the entity responsible for the outbreak in the Bayou. Lore is a mess but I wouldn’t say that Crytek doesn’t care about it.
@@Grinner11 My comment was more about the events though i also dislike the book of arms and monsters just being in the aether now. It was good worldbuilding imo rather than storylines to follow.
Recon has been used in every major video game to date including Warhammer, Warcraft, League of Legends etc. They still continue to add lore and remove old lore that doesn't fit the narrative any longer. If they hated the lore, why would they continue spend time on it?
I just watched your video and repect your opinion but i disagree with you on almost all points. I've played this game since closed alpha. I'm at 4k hours. I've bought every DLC until ghost face dropped. Until the last few months i have always supported this game. I've promoted the game on reddit and gaming fora. But since 1896 dropped something changed. The recent 2.0 update was touted as a major overhaul that would take Hunt into a new era, enhancing its performance and addressing long-standing issues. However, when 2.0 launched, it quickly became clear that the update was not ready. Players encountered a deluge of bugs, some of which were carried over from the previous version, while others were brand new. Many players were unable to even launch the game. I had to wait 3 weeks before a bug i encountered was patched. I wasn't even able to enter the game without it freezing up and was unable to participate in the event. I completed every event up until that point so i was flabbergasted the game was in such a bad shape. They promised the world and did not deliver. If all the bugs weren't enough along came ghost face. Hunt: Showdown’s appeal is its meticulously crafted lore and tone. A 1990s-era slasher character simply doesn’t fit within this world, feeling jarringly out of place and cheapening the game’s distinctive ambiance. It's the first DLC i didn't buy. After this i started to check out older developer video's. It was good to see Magnus again. I checked most of the developer's names and guess what. None of them are stil working on Hunt or even for Crytek. The new dev's are doing their best but most of them seem fresh out of high school. Most of the people that played Hunt with me for years have quit the game. I still play it but my enjoyment is dwindling. I don't think the game is on a good path right now. A lot of old timers are quitting and new players will not fill the void they left. There’s no doubt that Hunt: Showdown has room to grow and evolve, but it must do so in a way that respects its roots. The community’s message is clear: players want a game that remains true to its tone, its setting, and its original vision.
"Hunt: Showdown’s appeal is its meticulously crafted lore and tone" you speak for an incredibly small portion of the playerbase. Most of us are here for the unique gameplay hunt provides and thats it. Another hunter with a white mask doesn't change that, its basically another version of the reaper
@@ArchaicTTV nah a lot of people actually do care about that haha it was definitely not a hit and a lot of people I saw thought the same. Hunt IS known for its style and its unique character design, etc so throwing in a half assed pop culture reference to me was just weird and didn't fit. I think its obviously not as important as lets say the server issues, bugs, overall gameplay experience but its still important.
@@ArchaicTTV the art direction and lore is what makes this game unique, every single aspect of the gameplay is even influenced by this, you cant just throw that away because you feel like it, its a lot of reason why hunt is loved to this day and if you dont realise that yourself it doesnt mean other people dont realise it as well
@@ArchaicTTV As you can see from other Hunters who have responded, the portion of the playerbase who care about lore and tone might be quite a bit higher.
You're not interpreting the steam charts correctly. It shows that the recent Halloween event did not bring back any players and in-fact continued the downward trend post -1896. Based on the steam charts there hasn't been a single event in the past that has not gained players. That has got to be very alarming for Crytek. Especially considering the game's themes almost directly line up with the time of year. Three consecutive months of player-dropping off. The reddit-post is also wrongly interpreting the data, we saw these same concurrent player numbers for a "single month" last in September 2023. Overall, the steam charts do not point towards Hunt being healthy, especially after they burned a lot of development time on basically relaunching the game. I'd like to see the console numbers, maybe the game is doing well over there. I doubt it though.
People enjoyed the pledge unlock system... its gone now. People experience cursor issues, not being able to join the game and server disconnects, recently the server desyncs almost every 2nd match leading to rubberbanding and missed hits and the UI that makes you vomit each time. Love hunt! Hate to see it like this stage. A stage where me or my friends have to alt+f4 just to fix a cursor issue or to rejoin the server :/ Also let me just add that without the unlockable stuff on the map the game is fuck all rewarding... killing 4 hounters and extracting with the bounty resulted in 433 hunt dollars and 12k reputation. Ye.. thanks but, thats not rewarding at all. At least with the unlockable stuff i was like "okay you know what im gonna take the cash registers so i can get better gear" but now? nope... use the stock shits that you cant even rotate properly with this UI
"These anti-Hunt things have to happen, just accept it". Well, there it is, maybe the best way to summarise hunt's direction. Money first, game second, that's why people are pissed. I'm not going to accept that and I dont have to, I just left the game until something less cynical and blatant happens to how the game is ran. I'v loved the game since I started at beta, it's given me well worth of the price I paid, but It's just not the same anymore, and I dont like the new thing it's turned into. .
the people responsible for fixing the bugs arent the same as the ones making the skins that go up for sale. They are two entirely seperate things. If the current bugs didnt exist, the game is better than ever and it shows.
@@ArchaicTTV Well, yeah, obviously, that's why I on purpose didin't mention the devs. But that changes nothing on how the game is ran by Crytek. When you have a product that is broken in so many places, content is late and released broken, when you have lately made desicions purely by what other games do that sells copies, have caused a huge amount of animosity towards you by your community and you spam out more and more stuff that is obviously not ment to improve gameplay experience but just to make money, it's a bad way to treat you customers and a very bad look in general, no matter how you look it. If this is the only way Hunt will survive, fine, but it has lost so much in the process, that many people will not take it anymore. I liked Dennis vision of what the game should be, I was hooked on it for years and thousands of hours, and it's a damn shame that it didn't make enough cash, because it feels like that vision does not exist in the game anymore.
@@ArchaicTTV They prioritized hiring staff for creating skins over adding more developers to address the game's issues. These aren't entirely separate matters. Even if the current bugs were resolved, the game still offers less content than it did before the massive 'fix-it-all' update.
What a weird take that the people that have complains should write a petition to the investors, thats never gonna change anything. Crytek is just overall pretty silent on the biggest issues, its hush hush, dont talk about it. Talking about year long balancing issues, insanely cheap and bad servers, the whole Hit Validation and Trade Window situation. Its a shame. People have the right to complain if they buy a game that isnt even playable from time to time. I know some of it is utter nonsense, but to pass it all of as people who have emotions and want to ruin something for others is just the dumbest take Ive heard all week. At that point youre basically closing your eyes to all the issues because youre too passionate about your favourite game.
He's also rich and has a lot of spare time because of that. I think 500 hours of of Hunt as a whole is better insight than 400 hours of just the last year of Hunt.
It’s funny how some german dads are so crazy about this game that they feel personally offended when the game is criticized. The way you talk about people manipulating data and perspective just to downplay the game is truly a delusional take. Crytek ever since the re-launch in August has been constantly downgrading the game by adding countless issues and bugs while removing countless content from the game. Every complaint is rightfully deserved. The whole tier 2 and tier 3 hunter roster was removed just like that. 3 original maps were removed just like that in August and ever since then we only got ONE map back and it’s nearly December. The game is going downhill and from the outside it looks like they are only adding new, expensive skins to the game while they are unable to fix countless bugs for months. The new UI launch was also very needless and terrible downgrade filled with bugs and unnecessary annoying menus and features. Get a reality check and try to list and count every issue with the game so you can see how hard the negatives have been outweighing the positives in the past months. THIS is why the community is complaining.
German dads is funny af You're right tho, the moment you complain about the game you are SWARMED by people who begin all their sentences with "I have 19477471 hours in the game and you are WRONG. SKILL ISSUE, you just SUCK, go play COD." That constant boot licking can be quite exhausting. Of course there is enough mindless hate too but real criticism is the only way you can improve a game. Especially a live service game whose success is dependent on listening to community feedback.
Bro not to be rude but you are in lala land in a honeymoon phase. I have over 10k hrs in Hunt Showdown and I strongly disagree with the point your making. The fact you blame the players for ruining the game and not the devs is just poor judgement and disrespectful. The devs are so out of touch with their player base it’s intentional at this point and people like you that only praise the devs gives them the illusion that they are actually doing a good job. The only reason this game isnt already dead is simply because there isn't any other competition to go to, and with no other alternatives, players are stuck with Hunt Showdown and all of its glory.
To continue your point, this newer generation of players is out of touch with the older player base as well. We aren't gatekeeping anything, we aren't screaming loyalty, we aren't stuck in the past, we aren't boomers not willing to accept change; We see what is to come with this change of direction, and it's for the worse.
@@clownworld4655 Hunt is an outlier itself, hence the enjoyment from us outliers (6k+ hours). BY catering to a more commercial community of players, yes you will bring in more money, but general properties of a mainstream nature and target demographic fade away as quickly as the money and attention does and the game dies. Us outliers will still be here. If Crytek wants to attract an audience with short term solutions while not addressing the long-term problems; that is an inevitability. And it is their choice, a choice I wish they would reconsider
Old hunt is dead, it couldn’t get or keep enough people. New hunt is what they are trying to do to get more people, it is what it is. I don’t recognize hunt anymore sadly. Post malone, Heat seeking saw launcher and Xbox game pass is part of new hunt. GL crytek
There's way to much bias toward the devs in this video. Really not digging the "Everything's fine, y'all just complain too much" vibes when there are genuine issues with the game. I don't care about the skins, and I'm excited for the new carnival event, but acting like everything is OK is very disingenuous and it is frustrating when the devs communicate about new things they are adding to the game but fail to communicate or even acknowlege some of the game breaking bugs for months on end. Sorry, didn't like the video, and as someone who LOVES Hunt I really didn't appreciate the toxic "you're wrong, everything is fine" vibes.
The community is being honest, they aren't happy with the state of the game. And because it isn't getting better, they are starting to get vocal about it. It isn't a mystery dude.
It's simple. The game is broken in a way that makes it unfun. Every criticism stems from the death of good will they had from the community. Why complain about ghostface? Because they introduced it when the game doesn't work. Why complain about Post Malone? Because why are they doing an event collab when the game doesn't work? Dev time was spent on that event instead of making the game work. Why complain about bug fixes? Because they're months overdue and they break just as much as they fix. 2.1.1 went out with bug fixes, but for some reason now my team disbands after every match, and my teammate has to restart the game to continue when that wasn't the case before. Why complain about this or that bug after a new engine went out, and a new map? It doesn't matter what they put out when the game doesn't work. Why complain when they're fixing the exact things you ask for? Who cares when it's taking one month to put out the fix to trades after announcing they were doing it? And besides, trades have been objectively incorrect for years. Are we supposed to be thankful now? No, it's overdue. When they fix that, it won't be 'thank you', it'll be 'finally, the bare minimum' Stop coddling Crytek and objectively assess a game that's five years old that still has basic mechanics that don't work. These are alpha and beta issues, not full release. I don't care to put effort into a long message on youtube that will be ignored... it all just comes down to the game does not work
I just got the game not even a month ago. My brother in law tried to get me into it years ago but it look to horror esh.(not a fan) but recently a dear friend said hey try it. The pacing is different, the gun play is good and the sound and world is incredible….and I have fallen in love. Yes it has dumb bugs(I would get the red mouse every game) and the UI is a tedious thing to navigate…and yet I can't wait to play more. To learn the POIs. Figure out what guns I like. How To identify the different sounds and play-off of teammates loadouts and enemy hunters loadouts. This game is quickly becoming one of my all time favorites.
"Hunt is fine" lol Yes, of course after the event the players are less but the fact we had a big new engine update and somehow they did not hold any of the players with it is kinda telling and the fact it's the lowest now. It should be way higher if the game was doing good.
@@foxeh123 Things can get better tho. I don't wanna kill my favorite game because of my distaste for recent decisions. Nothing so terrible that I won't keep playing. Servers can be fixed. Lore can be written better. Things can become better balanced. Ik with alot of games and how they are its hard to keep hope. But if there's a game to have faith in. It's hunt showdown
You’re literally the person he’s talking about lmao. “The game is dying! Lemme just stomp on it while it’s down and beat it!” Wait? Why isn’t it getting better? I just don’t it! It’s truly a mystery!
I love Hunt, favorite game ever and I am very excited for its future. It is a bummer though that they decided to launch 2.0 by giving us one map and one wild target while removing three maps, removing one wild target, and removing all but two clear sky daytime weather variants. Not to mention an explosion of new bugs and performance issues. They advertised a bunch of features that just weren’t ready for 2.0 launch and still aren’t ready. This isn’t even a “hindsight is 20/20” situation, it is obvious that the 2.0 launch would have gone a thousand times better had they delayed it by 6 months. I love the game, I just wish they wouldn’t have shot themselves in the foot by fumbling the 2.0 launch so bad. Oh well, I’m still playing and I’m sure after a few updates in 2025 the game will be in a much better place.
Agreed, if they had pushed it back by 6 months it may have been better but based on their workflows that may have been impossible. They would have had to launch events in the meantime.
I have map fatigue and taking a break. I am waiting for the new map to be released. I have been playing since 1896 update consistently and enjoy it. I am frustrated with the many small problems hunt has. I am disappointed how long it takes for these small problems to be resolved.
I bought Hunt in early access but was terrible at it so never played more than a few hours at a time. BUT last week I decided that I'm going to get into hunt and have dropped 40 hours in the last 5 days. I absolutely love the game. I was lucky to meet and befriend a few players who have been happy to show me the ropes and help me ease into the game. I even got my first solo 5 hunter kill and extract the other day. I love the atmosphere, the map designs, the hunt designs, everything is just top tier. Reading hate only, I couldn't get it. I figured because I'm new, I don't see the stuff the haters see just yet. BUT seeing your video, I'm glad that the hate isn overall unwarranted.
You'll learn quickly that the hunt community is filled with some of the most passionate folks around. For better or for worse. Some just lean too far into either extreme due to how much love they have for hunt. I can't blame them at the end of the day. I try to be somewhere in the middle, but I definitely lean more on the positive side. Glad to have you around in the hunt community. Don't be afraid to hop in our community discord sometime if you wanna find more people to play with. We love new players. Thanks for commenting! 🤠
i think hunt is actually in an amazing spot they are adding one of their favorite artists they added Ghostface i think this alone shows passion behind the game
You made a video for nothing. The reason we complained about the game was because our requests were not met and the opposite was done. They just couldn't see that the improvements made to the shotguns and the new things added to the game were killing the spirit of the game. We complain because we love the game. I'm not going to complain about the game anymore. I'm tired of asking them to hear our voices. It's over.
As someone who used to play Apex a lot. This game is not even close to losing its identity like Apex did and if I understand correctly Hunt is older which makes that even more impressive. The gameplay has never been better aside from the server issues and trading, bounty clash was a breath of fresh air which I hope they do make that a permanent mode, and getting celebrity involvement with someone like Post Malone was awesome! I think this game has nothing but a bright future ahead of it
I'd like to push back on your idea of "the gameplay has never been better". Even among the people who agree that it is bad right now, they will disagree about when it was best. There simply is no objective "best" gamestate. I, for example, think that the new map is the best map of them all, and thought the 1896 launch event was the best event as far as gameplay tie in (even with silent solos). However the current state of burning is so horrible, and the average shots per minute so high, that I can't agree that the gameplay is currently the best it has even been. But I'm just one person. To be clear I am not trying to say you shouldn't like the game where it is for gameplay right now - just highlighting that it's very very subjective. The post malone stuff is indeed super cool. I love that we have a celebrity figure who is so into this game that can be included.
@ Totally hear you! Yeah a lot of it is pretty subjective especially for people like myself who took a couple year break and came back a couple months ago. And yeah the burning is horrible I was trying to remember if it was always that bad I’m hoping tweaks are made to that soon and the removal of special ammo is going to be interesting too which will chase things up even more and for some people it will be a good change and for others it will ruin their experience it is going to be really hard to please everyone in the community. There is always room to improve things!👍
I may not like Post Malone's music but as a person I see him as a good dude. I saw a short of him saying this was the funnest game I have played yet. STRAIGHT FACTS! I LOVE IT AND MY SUB'S LOVE THE STREAMS OF IT!!!
well, I totaly agree with you on this topic but I have one big issue with the devs right now, game after 1896 launch is just glitching in many ways, I'm reporting bugs very often, some bugs are making game unplayable for me even tho Hunt is my favorite game and I have 2k hours and I have been with the game since the beggining of early acces in febryary 2018. Glitches im talking about that are happening for long time - pitch black shadows that are coming out of nowhere in the middle of the game and the only fix is to extract or restart the game, or glitch that has been since back of reworket stillwater bayou so its been over 2 months - the longer I played the game more often I had freezes that were taking around 3 or 4 seconds, it wasnt that bad cause it made game unplayable after around 5th match, restart worked. BUT NOW after last maintenance I have freezes in 2nd match and these freezes are in around every 30 seconds, that makes the game unplayable for me, I cant count how many times I died because of that, so I stoped playing hunt till devs fix that AFTER OVER 2 MONTHS. I've been reporting these glitches as well with other bugs of course. To the point I dont understand why devs are making fixes once on month in some updates rather than making hotfixes. I understand that some bugs may take some time, but other such for example bolt thrower bug that does not work when swithcing ammo type on crossbow, I've been reporting this for over a month, I think since harvest of ghost started and its still not working (As far as I'm aware this is pretty easy to fix). I just don't get it why it has to take so long to make the game work properly even with small fixes. Thats why I'm not happy with crytek right now, especialy becasue I CANT PLAY THE GAME WITHOUT RESTARTING IT AFTER EVERY SINGLE MATCH because of a bug that people were and are reporting it since MONTHS.
I love hunt with a lot of my heart. But with the game breaking glitches and horrible netcode that they promised to fix still being around. The content is great and the gameplay loop is one of a kind. Maybe i just needed a break since i played for a long time. Hunt will be there when i come back the baiou will always be there
Well. I don't know if it says much. I've been here since launch and I've seen things that we thought were gonna be the end of hunt time and time again. "Custom ammo" "Stalker beetle" "New map bad" "New boss bad" "New guns game breaking" "Spam" And now with 2.0... Things are getting spooky with the direction of hunt showdown and that its becoming like everything else that i hate like call of duty and the like. But.. then i play a game. Then hit level 50. Then i kill a boss. Then i get a headshot. And it reminds me that this is still hunt. Its changed a hell of a lot. But It'll be okay. This community has been through worse before. Nothing we haven't seen. Haters gonna hate. I'm still gonna be taking heads like everyone else.
I think the quote “Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.” Fits the way the community has been perfectly. Gamers truly are some of the most entitled people you can come across today and it really shines with the hunt community lately.
Crytek making only bad changes it's only fair that the playerbase is complaining since this game is only getting worse sense 1896 their old active high skill players are leaving rip Hunt 🫡
Thank you so much for saying what has to be said! I wish every Hunt creator would do this on a weekly basis to overtone the haters that are way too loud.
People whine that the game is dying, but in the next breath complain about the steps that crytek is taking to seek a bigger audience and mass appeal. Child-like.
During the early inception of Hunt, it was a game where resupplying was a great challenge. Therefore you had to choose your battles carefully. Few ways to pick up ammo, no ways to regain tools and consumable, stealth the greatest cornerstone heading into a match. It was a niche that doesn't appeal to a broader audience, so reaching a broader audience means sacrificing the niche that drew in the playerbase that built the current community. Add a "Survival" mode where all those core essentials are restored, and I truly believe Hunt will be able to appease both the broader audience as well as the niche players!
I don't have all the answers on making the games population grow, but I'm certain leaning on the CoD, Apex Legends, Fortnite style of licensing IP is not the winning approach. Crytex spending money to cross over aren't going to result in a meaningful net gain. Drake also is big on gaming, doesn't mean we should be having celebrities in the game. I want to see yall keep this same energy when they try to add some oddball choices like K Kardashian, K. West, Saucy Santana and some other dumb celebrities that have no historical context with a western themed game😅 I would give more time between events, make events shorter (45 days max), every year focus one major update on bug/glitches fix.
People say the games “not niche and hardcore anymore” but it wasn’t supposed to be 😭 they added wall hacks for getting the bounty, custom ammo, drones. Not only that they alr had silly skins in the game? Where do we draw the line here? Is it just where you picked up the game compared to others? One guy could say dark sight wall hacks could be op since he was playing before em. But we both know a majority of the playerbase doesn’t think twice
I think hunt is in a pretty fun place right now. The fire fights have been really fun and I havnet been in a empty server since 1896 dropped.........But the game crashes and the UI bugs are pretty frustrating.......But at least we dont loose your hunter like the old days.
Really wanna get into hunt should I buy the starter or gold package to not be completely ground zero? Or does it not matter just a big learning curve regardless?
Hey there! Happy to see you're interested in Hunt. I honestly recommend whatever is in your budget. If cosmetics are no concern to you, just buy the base game and dive in head on. If you need some people to help you get integrated into the game, feel free to join my community discord, we try to be very welcoming to new players. Don't concern yourself with other packages unless you care about cosmetics. Save yourself the money 🤠 Stay blessed! discord.gg/84a8Ks4kY6
The doom and gloom may be an exaggeration HOWEVER just ignoring people's concerns with the game like nothing is wrong with it is just damn ignorant. Even people like Psychoghost have become more and more critical of the choices the developers have made recently. Is the game bad? No. is it dieing? unlikely, though there has been a downward trend which SHOULD be adressed. Shouting "the end is neigh" is as damaging to the game as you shrugging every issue people have with the game off like it's nothing. 1) when 2.0 launched trades have become A LOT more common for me. annecdotal? sure, if it weren't for the fact that other people are having these issues aswell; 2) the UI hasn't been in a good place since 2.0. A majority of the playerbase would agree with this sentiment; 3) Developers promised to relaunch old maps in 1 month intervals (which hasn't happened) leading to map fatigue which is arguably one of the lesser problems I admit; 4) General server stability has been whack lately and I'll add to this point all the bugs that have been in the game for years now or some that have even been reintroduced; There's a lot more criticisms and drama that has happened thus far and Crytek deserves most if not all the criticism it's getting. Even the ghostface stuff was understandeable. he doesn't belong in Hunt! and it's funny because when Post had his interview youtube comments were saying "here comes the reddit outrage!" which just didn't happen. Seems like people don't mind collabs IF they make sense. Post is an active hunt player so it would only be smart of crytek to capitalise on that and the interview made clear to the few outraged people that in the end he is "one of us". The community loves Hunt and so do I but the gunplay changes lately had me really scratching my head. Bullet drop, Bullet pen changes, scarce ammo (instead of removing them from weapons),... I loved Hunt for what it was. The gunplay was perfect to me so it didn't need these changes. wallbangs are awesome AND skillful (unless you're spraying chain pistols with FMJ but HEY these changes don't adress that) and some of the most hyped moments. Bullet drop? not needed BUT it hindered me less than I thought it would however it does make situations a lot more confusing. did my killshot miss because of bulletdrop or due to server stability/lagg/other? we'll never know because there's no way to find that out. just added another "modifier".
I actually think map fatigue is one of the largest problems and just a general lack of content. People who played prior to 1896 are missing out on a ton of content still.
@@MechNominal I mean, I imagine the longer it goes on the bigger the issue becomes but in all honesty Hunt maps have quite a bit of replayability so at the moment I don't see it as a BIG issue. personal opinion ofcourse.
1)trades aren't more common since 2.0 - thats in your head. Ironically the devs are listening and 2.2 will be reducing the trade window from 800ms to 75ms 2)The UI, when bugs dont effect you, is easier and faster to use than the old one by a mile. quit whining and learn to use the new hotkeys they gave us that substantially speed things up 3) they never promised one month intervals. They said 30 days for stillwater and they did exactly that. No time table was ever given for the other 2, this is misinformation. 4) USeast runs great, not sure about the other regions. I've been dropped from a game 4 times in several hundred hours post-engine update
@@clownworld4655 Did you misread what I said or misunderstand what I said? It can change, but ideally not for the worse. I didn't think it was that hard to understand.
I just came back for the 1890 upgrade. I just stayed. It played better to me. The trades were a bit better. I played before 40hrs no kills. I didn't like it. When I came back I died alot and started getting kills and extracts. The game is changing but it's attracting news like myself. It's great now.
The biggest problem for me is the performance, the rest isn't all that big of a deal but when the game doesn't function properly it's just frustrating to even look at.
It's my favorite game, and has been since 2019, but the game has took a different turn that I'm not happy with, but it's still my favorite game and I still play almost daily
You're right man and in other words gamers do not like change. For me, the thing that bothers me the most is not getting hot fixes throughout an event. Edit- I also think the people complaining are a loud group not a large one
I get you. Hunt is fine, now.. But just look what battlepasses do to games. Devs are almost obligated to always have a battle pass available when they start introducing one. It gives a steady income stream. But they will always add new content to each battlepass or season and content is great, if it's the right content. But I just feel like that they are adding too much and the battlepasses will make sure a lot of things will keep coming in the future, meaning, the game will get overloaded, for sure, almost definitely. Like call of duty or fortnite and so many other games. Those are games that change a lot constantly and the people that now play hunt, well some/most do not want that to happen. We love the game for the feel of it now, when they start adding more spam or break complete game loops because some people thought it was a problem, it becomes unfun. Hunt showdown is just such a unique game and it felt like they already stripped a lot away with the 2.0 update, like the UI looks like every other battle royale game now and they removed things like the monster book and hid away the beautiful death info cards, etc. Now they add things like a revive bolt, it completely changes the way you play the game. Maybe people are overreacting atm a bit, but it definitely feels like its heading that way and will forever stay in the battlepass death loop.
you know what, you're right. I have been upset about the ghostface skin and post malone skin. But youre right. I shouldn't be worried and you put it into a wonderful perspective that I can't argue against. I just don't want the game to lose itself to crossovers and such but the devs arent stupid. Thank you for changing my view on this tonight :)
I started playing around 2020, racked up well over 3k hours, and I have to say that I've seen few communities be as toxic as Hunt's reddit community. I hope new players stay well away from there.
@@kairoshs I couldn't agree more. They manipulate, lie, and fearmonger for updoots on reddit en masse. The posts talking about good things barely ever get through to the front page. I'm never surprised by how awful it can be.
There are some issues that need to be addressed, however, the devs have been working on them and putting patches to solve them, I like the way the game is going , I don't believe it is dying like some are saying and believe that some of the things happening are just growing pains.
Bugs will forever be frustrating but it’s alll code it’ll never be perfect. What they do to fix it is what makes them a committed team of developers. Hunts a good game genuinely and reddit needs to shut the hell up. Back the game up and play it at the heights of those events and start trying new things. Keep up the good content Hunters Lodge I for one am not leaving the game to rot. See you in the bayou
Just thank you for making this video i thought i was going crazy. So many people are fear mongering over this game for no fucking reason and youre right they sre the ones killing the game not the devs
tbh me and 8 of my friends stop playing after the update the camping and the bugs got to frustrating maybe I check it out again a year or so, I do not say the games has to be how I like it, but on the other hand I feel like it gets more and more frustrating not only for the "veteran players". ghostface was way to copy paste from the movies and makes no sence. Plastic wasn't a thing until 1907 btw.
Thanks for the video. Personally I think the main benefit and problem of Hunt Showdown is that it's community is very fixed. People get into it and play the game for a ridiculous amount of time or the game never clicked and they never play again. So the playerbase consists of more or less the same people who are very passionate about the game. And some people start to be in a toxic relationship with the game. This is why I take breaks from time to time.
I've been playing Hunt as much as I can for the past year and I'm still not 400h into the game... Having a full time job, a familly or just a life beyond gaming will do that x) people saying post malone 'isn't a veteran' need to touch some grass sometime
I literally started playing 4 weeks ago and have 100+ hrs (after full time job) and I have brought 3 friends into the game. I look at the community, and there are so many whiny dumbasses. Some people will never be happy and want everyone else to be miserable too.
Hunt is such a niche game and with the sharp uptake of triple AAA games being so mainstream and the fortnitification by big studios is causing to become even more of a niche and outlying game which then is causing the community to feel special for being a niche group and they're acting so, the same exact thing happened to tarkov albeit in a much slower and less dramatic way
New player with about 50 hours in. Really enjoying it. Cannot understand the negativity from the community. Joined the subreddit for like 5 minutes before leaving because it was so miserable. The game is great, not perfect, but far more people should try this game.
Completely agree, i started playing hunt last October and it was great, nowadays though it feels completely different. I'm not a very big fan of how inconsistent everything is now, it feels like the game cant figure out if it wants to be fast paced, or slow and methodical, the fact that they buffed shotguns and made the game generally more fast paced isn't something i like, but i can understand why the change was made. Excluding other stuff, hunt is still very fun, its just not in a great state right now due to all of the controversy that people keep brining up. Great video, much love from Lafayete, Louisiana!
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial Yup, new engine had loads of new content and that came with loads of new bugs that were eventually fixed, just temporary hiccups in what is still a very good game
I love the slow methodical play style but I mostly solo, I'm also low mmr and get out in with higher stars all the time, I don't t care if lobbies are full. I want to be in my mmr range I don't need run and gun pvp. The game and sound is so good to just enjoy.
I have been searching for a video like this for a long time, man it feels good to find someone with a different opinion than all of the crybabies on reddit and steam
It's so bad right now being able to remain being 6* for no effort gameplay and so many changes that support easy playstile the game isn't fun anymore sense 1896
Been playing for a while now, off and on since 2021and here's my 2¢ I didn't like Ghost Face, but I'm actually ok with what I have seen so far from the Post Malone event. I actually want to see more and it feels thematically on point. If this event goes well, then Crytec with have hit the sweet spot to make money and keep the world and atmosphere they built up alive. The 1896 launch was a bug fest for me, at first, but it has gotten much better. The UI right now is interesting, I can kind of see what they were trying to do. Once I noticed that there were hot keys for a lot of actions I find some actions in the menus much faster, Crytec just needs to keep refining the UI and make it more consistent in how it behaves and less buggy. Crytec is doing good with more communication, but I do wish they were more proactive with balancing and hot fixing things like the pact traits. My only other criticism of Crytec is they seem to over correct on balance changes. Turbo burn speed, comes to mind. Though, despite many changes, bullet drop, adding Beatles, burn traits, etc. the core of Hunt is very much still there. Weird west Gothic horror with gunplay that rewards accuracy and skill. All that said, I agree with your points on trying to tear things down. I try to criticize, but give some kind of a solution when I do. I just with more people realized it does no good to just be negative, come up with an alternative solution if you don't like something. Thanks for being a positive voice of reason.
And thank YOU for this wonderful comment. You added perspective, criticized while still appreciating the good, and showed both sides of the coin. I wish more members of the community acted like you. I agree with many of your points. Thanks again!
The whole appeal of Hunt is that it did not use a lot of the common practices of other live service games. It stayed true to itself, didn't have or need crossovers, and aside from the Cain skin wasn't pay to win. They just added Ghost Face and announced basically what will be emotes. You are lying to yourself and everyone else if you try to say that post malone loves the same game that 2018 players loved. 2023 and 2018 hunt are not even close to the same game. I'm not saying someone can't like the game, but Im tired of people waving Posty around like a flag saying "Look he likes the game, so its good".
I do not think Hunt is a good game because Post Malone likes it. I think Hunt is a good game because I've watched it evolve over time into a truly incredible product. The gaming landscape does not allow a game like 2018 Hunt to still exist. If Hunt remained as it was in 2018, there would be 1000 players online MAX globally. The game needed to evolve with the times and in many ways, I believe Crytek has done well by the Hunt universe with this evolution. Between the new engine, the new map, new bosses, and finally a new game mode, I think that the game has come a long way. If they have to make a crossover skin here or there due to shareholder demands, at least they did so in as genuine of a way as they could. They could have just plopped a black robes ghostface into the world and called it a day. But they hunt-ified it and I think they did a bang-up job. Although I disagree with you, I thank you for stating your peace and commenting. -Horse
Yeah, you're right. I've been actively playing hunt since 2022 even though bought the game in 2020. I fucking hate these people who always say negative things and miss out on good changes. Yeah, the game is not perfect and I was furious about the new UI. But the devs are ACTUALLY listening to the audience, they interact with us and this is fucking awesome. The game never looked so good as it does now on the new map. The changes to the game and new events almost EVERY OTHER MONTH is fucking awesome. People just LOVE to yap about things just for the sake of yapping. As I get older the less hate and controversy I want in life, so I just try to read and watch less of the negative (just for sake of being negative) stuff, yet I will accept the valid criticism like with the UI. Great video, liked. Keep it up and real, Hunter)
Man all i dislike in this game right now its the bios/lore they removed , the Ui and the bugs/performance issues , i know people are frustrated but at least they've been adressing some of this problems and if they can fix them would be amazing , i think its too soon to tell if the game is dying , for everyone who quits other people take their place and even those who arent playing right now might come back one time or another , everything is cyclical.
i myself chose to not buy the ghostface dlc even if i loved the weapon skins it came with. but i dont want to support crossovers like that in the future, we now know that the next event will be "based" on or around post malone. who is a very big fan of hunt and in my opinion. fits the asthetic pretty well not that hes not so much in his rapper boy era or whatever you wanna call it. he is passionate about the game and that is what the game needs. and i dont think the devs will ever add what people think, like. "nikki menaj dlc" "snoop dog dlc" no. the devs are actually very careful with what they add it feels. and that is something in todays gaming market that we should all support
Yup! Tired of people hating change. Yeah there is shit I don like but the devs have always tried to curb it and do their best. I still fw hunt and I'm only excited about post's involvement and hopefully bringing more players to enjoy the game with!
THIS! I agree with you 100%..., Hunt has it's flaws..., Cryteck with re-launch of Hunt 1896 didn't stumble they fell on their face FLAT! But this community, subreddit of Hunt is definition of "shooting yourself in your foot, then screaming how it hurts" these idio*s did every thing in their power to sabotage re-launch to prevent new player coming in..., B&M over every single thing..., constant negativity over a product most of them invested 2-3-4k hours in... If you dislike something so much and invest so much time into it..., go get checked out?!? They are opponents of change, opponents of growth they want to revert back into nostalgia trips of early days of Hunt but that is gone..., it isn't real and even if they did that most of them would quit, b&m into the void how bad it is....
Totally agree. Im told that supposedly this game is just like fortnite. Yet when im playing i cant think of even 1 way this game resembles fortnight at all. People just wanna complain. Even if its not logical
I just recently got back into this game because of the Halloween event, then they added ghost face As a huge fan of Halloween I was ecstatic, the ghostface crossover in hunt IS A GHOSTFACE CROSSOVER NOT A SCREAM CROSSOVER Can I see people jump to the conclusion right away that it is crossover with scream when that is not the case I thought the whole post Malone situation was cool because right away. I just thought oh well now this game is gonna probably blow up, but there’s no pleasing anyone ever The hunt showdown community is basically like the dead by daylight community at this point.
Resistant to change, yet demanding change all the same. It's a catch-22. At least we have people like you here to be a voice of reason! Thank you for commenting 🤠
Also further more post Malone does seem like one of us I never have talked bad about the guy he even complained about the game in the interview talking about people spamming beetles and disconnecting he’s irritated as well.
It blows my mind there are people that watch the player count and base how good a game is on that fact. If I like a game, I play it. Who gives a shit if there’s 1000 people playing or 500.
First a ghostface crossover, and now they added a rapper crossover, the next crossover it's probably going to be nicki minaj, the game has lost any identity it had, you don't have to add crossovers skins into your game, there's many that doesn't and they are successful, you can look at warframe, path of exile, even games like league of legends (i hate it, but gotta recognize that probably one of the biggest games out there doesn't adds crossovers with rappers or with movies ips), the fact that they have to add crossovers and break their well stablished universe to survive, it's bs, i'm sure that it's not even a decission from dennis at this point, it's corporative greed at it's peak, they want to target casual players for a faster revenuee than their actual loyal playerbase, the community feels betrayed at this point, half of it at least
the passion you have for the game and your unwillingless to criticise it is unironically what will kill this game and what has killed many games before and after it
Well made video, for a Crytek shill. If so many are angry with the direction Hunt has been going, maybe it's you that is living in the echo chamber? There was nothing deceptive about the post on Reddit. The only people that patiently wait to drop news at an opportune moment to deceive the player base, is Crytek. Reddit posters are not that smart, patient, or crafty. They see something, they post it, usually with less than 3 seconds of planning. You seem really bitter that the majority of the player base is waking up to the mess that Fifield has created. When he joined, there were already lots of projects and plans in the pipeline, so it has taken a while for his ideas and influences to make it to the game. We started noticing his influence more and more last year. That is coincidentally when a lot of the hate towards Crytek started to grow. It became a constant string of half-baked ideas, that reeked of inadequate testing and a controlling management style, like one guy making all the decisions with no-one able to voice any disagreement. I have not heard any rumors of devs being fired, but now you mention it, that does make sense. I can totally picture the older dev team disagreeing with Fifield's ideas and getting on his bad side, then being fired, or leaving because they felt he was ruining their game. Did you just make this up or is their truth to this rumor?
Dude, it's not just your game. It's happening over in my main game as well. I don't play Hunt, video was jus in my recommendations, but I play Finals an we are dealing with the same shit on the same scale. I don't know what the hell is up with people. It's crazy. People just don't want others to be happy for some reason.
There's a difference between constructive criticism--which comes from a place of appreciation--and lazy name-calling and rage.
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial there is a really big problem even with the lore of the game, sadly it 's been removed acc... it was already sad to not be able to see the letters from fast events except from videos of other players, but now is an all time low. sadly
Hunt IS NOT FINE. Pretending it is doesn't help anyone.
The people with the strongest opinions, are often the loudest..🙄
But it got to be a balance, if devs only listened to greedy shareholders, the game loses its niche, and everybody would be running around in gingerbreadman skins trying to steal players from FrothNite ..and game 💀
I wonder also how many negative rewievs/comments about games dying are put out by bots from competing gamestudios.

"Its 2024, to make money in a live service game you need to do crossovers. why be mad at the developers for things they cant change? push for change on a higher level."
To push for change on a higher level youre going to need to influence those shareholder's wallets, too.
Its being propped up almost solely by the dedicated playerbase because theyre the only ones who are willing to play the game in its current state (hardly functioning)
isn't Crytek a privately owned company ? no shareholders.
@@shezoth the time you took to write this comment could've been spent googling and seeing that crytek is a stock company
Can you make a substantial argument how this game is anything like fortnite except for a skin? Or are you just saying shit
When you go and purposly remove lore from your game it does make it seam like you hate your own universe
Edit: i know not alot of people cared about it but those of us that did engage with it had super cool [leonardo dicaprio whistle pointing meme here] moments every time something lore related happened in trailers.
Yes it’s good that the stories are voice acted and all but my issues with it are:
I love the game and never in 6k hours have I cared a bit about the law

Careful, he won't favorite your comment unless you shrug and say "I can't change it, so I might as well tolerate being treated like crap".
Wasnt that time in September when ladders gave you wallhacks? Not hating on your comment just theorizing
A stage where me or my friends have to alt+f4 just to fix a cursor issue or to rejoin the server :/
Also let me just add that without the unlockable stuff on the map the game is fuck all rewarding... killing 4 hounters and extracting with the bounty resulted in 433 hunt dollars and 12k reputation. Ye.. thanks but, thats not rewarding at all.

THIS is why the community is complaining.
..german dads?🤣 Hilarious
Not onboard with all our pessimism tho
German dads is funny af
You're right tho, the moment you complain about the game you are SWARMED by people who begin all their sentences with
"I have 19477471 hours in the game and you are WRONG. SKILL ISSUE, you just SUCK, go play COD."
That constant boot licking can be quite exhausting.

@@DorianBlackberg not a bad plan at all! 😁
When they fix that, it won't be 'thank you', it'll be 'finally, the bare minimum'

There is always room to improve things!👍

well, I totaly agree with you on this topic but I have one big issue with the devs right now, game after 1896 launch is just glitching in many ways, I'm reporting bugs very often, some bugs are making game unplayable for me even tho Hunt is my favorite game and I have 2k hours and I have been with the game since the beggining of early acces in febryary 2018.
I wish they would put lore back in I like to see story to the hunters
I love hunt with a lot of my heart. But with the game breaking glitches and horrible netcode that they promised to fix still being around. The content is great and the gameplay loop is one of a kind. That's a very applicable quote to this situation. Well said!
Well said!
Crytek making only bad changes it's only fair that the playerbase is complaining since this game is only getting worse sense 1896 their old active high skill players are leaving rip Hunt 🫡
I haven't played in a while personally there are some changes I'd like to see before i get back into it, these events be burning me out too
Thank you so much for saying what has to be said!
I wish every Hunt creator would do this on a weekly basis to overtone the haters that are way too loud.
People whine that the game is dying, but in the next breath complain about the steps that crytek is taking to seek a bigger audience and mass appeal. Child-like.
Biting the hands that feed. 🤷🏿♂️
Clearly the steps crytek are taking aren't working
West, Saucy Santana and some other dumb celebrities that have no historical context with a western themed game😅
I would give more time between events, make events shorter (45 days max), every year focus one major update on bug/glitches fix.
It's because those steps don't include fixing the game
People say the games “not niche and hardcore anymore” but it wasn’t supposed to be 😭 they added wall hacks for getting the bounty, custom ammo, drones. Not only that they alr had silly skins in the game? Where do we draw the line here? Is it just where you picked up the game compared to others? One guy could say dark sight wall hacks could be op since he was playing before em. But we both know a majority of the playerbase doesn’t think twice
Everyone got their own opinions that's for sure. Some are just a liiiittle too passionate 😅 Thanks for commenting!
I think hunt is in a pretty fun place right now. The fire fights have been really fun and I havnet been in a empty server since 1896 dropped.........But the game crashes and the UI bugs are pretty frustrating.......But at least we dont loose your hunter like the old days.
Bc many of the members of hunt are former vigor players which did this exact type thing
Great video and from now on I follow you 👍🏻
Really wanna get into hunt should I buy the starter or gold package to not be completely ground zero? Or does it not matter just a big learning curve regardless?
Hey there! Happy to see you're interested in Hunt. I honestly recommend whatever is in your budget. If cosmetics are no concern to you, just buy the base game and dive in head on. If you need some people to help you get integrated into the game, feel free to join my community discord, we try to be very welcoming to new players. Don't concern yourself with other packages unless you care about cosmetics. Save yourself the money 🤠

Bless you for this video dude. Agree on everything.
1) when 2.0 launched trades have become A LOT more common for me. annecdotal? sure, if it weren't for the fact that other people are having these issues aswell;
2) the UI hasn't been in a good place since 2.0. A majority of the playerbase would agree with this sentiment;
3) Developers promised to relaunch old maps in 1 month intervals (which hasn't happened) leading to map fatigue which is arguably one of the lesser problems I admit;
4) General server stability has been whack lately and I'll add to this point all the bugs that have been in the game for years now or some that have even been reintroduced;
There's a lot more criticisms and drama that has happened thus far and Crytek deserves most if not all the criticism it's getting.
Ironically the devs are listening and 2.2 will be reducing the trade window from 800ms to 75ms
2)The UI, when bugs dont effect you, is easier and faster to use than the old one by a mile. quit whining and learn to use the new hotkeys they gave us that substantially speed things up
3) they never promised one month intervals. They said 30 days for stillwater and they did exactly that. No time table was ever given for the other 2, this is misinformation.
4) USeast runs great, not sure about the other regions. I've been dropped from a game 4 times in several hundred hours post-engine update
If Hunt stayed the same since launch it would've been "dead" within a few years.
Nobody said it had to remain the same. It just had to not do this.

I just came back for the 1890 upgrade. I just stayed. It played better to me. The trades were a bit better. I played before 40hrs no kills. I didn't like it. When I came back I died alot and started getting kills and extracts. The game is changing but it's attracting news like myself. It's great now.
@@kojinko I appreciate your point of view here. Thank you for commenting!
The biggest problem for me is the performance, the rest isn't all that big of a deal but when the game doesn't function properly it's just frustrating to even look at.

Thank you hunter. I do what I can. You're also appreciated for that matter. 🤠
well said 👍
It's my favorite game, and has been since 2019, but the game has took a different turn that I'm not happy with, but it's still my favorite game and I still play almost daily
You're right man and in other words gamers do not like change. For me, the thing that bothers me the most is not getting hot fixes throughout an event. Edit- I also think the people complaining are a loud group not a large one
Still no rain time of day... i wonder why
current trajectory is call of duty 1896
Im getting packet loss and latency of 11k in europe.. so im leaving. You may enjoy if it works for you but im gone and done
There are some issues that need to be addressed, however, the devs have been working on them and putting patches to solve them, I like the way the game is going , I don't believe it is dying like some are saying and believe that some of the things happening are just growing pains.
hyped for the snoop dog skin with joint inspect animation
Bro the hotdog with mustard Springfield is gonna go crazy
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial the bug fixes can wait if they keep releasing goated skins like these
Bugs will forever be frustrating but it’s alll code it’ll never be perfect.
Things will alwaaaaays get better. Crytek is fully aware that if the game isn't fixed they lose money. It's not rocket science. 🤠
...the whole of reddit is cesspool
Believe it or not
Staying away from Reddit and Twitter for games you like is actually a really good idea
Amen 🙏
Just thank you for making this video i thought i was going crazy. So many people are fear mongering over this game for no fucking reason and youre right they sre the ones killing the game not the devs
I agree with your message!
I dont see why post malone's input at 400hrs is any more valuable than any other player with 400hrs.
tbh me and 8 of my friends stop playing after the update the camping and the bugs got to frustrating maybe I check it out again a year or so, I do not say the games has to be how I like it, but on the other hand I feel like it gets more and more frustrating not only for the "veteran players". ghostface was way to copy paste from the movies and makes no sence.
I consider these growing pains. The game is still being updated constantly after all. We're essentially in Hunt 2.0
@@HuntersLodgeOfficial Yup, new engine had loads of new content and that came with loads of new bugs that were eventually fixed, just temporary hiccups in what is still a very good game

I have been searching for a video like this for a long time, man it feels good to find someone with a different opinion than all of the crybabies on reddit and steam
Literally the Ghostface and all the bug fixes and the UI promises. HUNT IS GREAT RN. Bounty Clash is amazing and it’s staying.
It's so bad right now being able to remain being 6* for no effort gameplay and so many changes that support easy playstile the game isn't fun anymore sense 1896
Been playing for a while now, off and on since 2021and here's my 2¢
I didn't like Ghost Face, but I'm actually ok with what I have seen so far from the Post Malone event.
Although I disagree with you, I thank you for stating your peace and commenting.

im fine with collabs BUT i just dont want them in the battle pass. i like them to stay as Dlcs
@@Pootis03 that's an interesting point. I didn't actually think of that being an issue. I'll have to mull over this.
I'm right there with you brother! 🤠
Mind you, Post "only" has 400 hours in Hunt 1896. That doesn't include the hours on the old game.
I just recently got back into this game because of the Halloween event, then they added ghost face
As a huge fan of Halloween I was ecstatic, the ghostface crossover in hunt IS A GHOSTFACE CROSSOVER
NOT A SCREAM CROSSOVER
Can I see people jump to the conclusion right away that it is crossover with scream when that is not the case
I thought the whole post Malone situation was cool because right away. I just thought oh well now this game is gonna probably blow up, but there’s no pleasing anyone ever
The hunt showdown community is basically like the dead by daylight community at this point.
Ah yes, the pendulum swings.
