I found a fix for pale and white photos on the Xiaomi. go to settings and find the setting "Metering Preference" change this from "Face" to "Average" this stops the camera from going nuts on the exposure and making them pale whenever it sees a face.
Problem with that is that it would be: Which do you put next to eachother, Make it 3 and you ar elimiting the amount you can see, make it 2 and then you have to switch between so many hahaha.

The Xiaomi shots felt more natural overall. However, it's hard to make a full comparison since we don’t have a shot from the R8 for every scene. I was eager to see how the R8 would perform because I hoped it could help determine which phone comes closest to a DSLM experience. Unfortunately, there were only 2 or 3 shots from the R8 to evaluate. From what I saw, it seemed like the Xiaomi was the closest. Am I wrong?
@@ThroughJermainesLens Thank you for the response! In your opinion, did the Xiaomi come closest to matching the performance of a DSLM camera, or were all the phones significantly lacking? I currently own the OnePlus 12, Oppo X6 Pro, and Xiaomi 11 Ultra, and honestly, none of them come close to my DSLM cameras. That’s why I’m curious if this new, highly praised generation of phones has made a substantial leap forward.
@@bastian.michel Xiaomi get's most of the time the closest to DSLR feel in normal photography shot. in portrait it get's the bokeh well, but sometimes misses the bokeh. But in terms of skin it struggles to get that right. It's inconsitent with that
@@ThroughJermainesLens I rewatched the video and compared the shots to the R8, and while it's definitely a matter of personal preference, I'd choose the Xiaomi. Its images just look the most natural to me. I don’t post my pictures on social media-they’re stored in my personal cloud for when I’m older. I want to see my family as they truly were. The Oppo and Vivo shots, by contrast, looked overly artificial. Xiaomi captures shadows accurately, representing dark areas as dark. In the park bench shot, where you were shooting against the light, a real camera would usually produce a flatter image with less contrast. But the Oppo and Vivo made it seem as if the sun was behind you, altering the scene completely. As someone who loves photography, I find that kind of post-processing too far removed from reality. Maybe Im just getting old 😆😆
I will actually agree. Xiaomi applies a hidden beauty filter which is why xiaomis looks worse. They really need to disable it tbh to improve quality. But it does have the potential to be an incredible camera. Just xiaomi should expose that beauty mode setting. Its not even exposed in hyperceiler either. But theres a tucked away beauty setting
i wished it's a bit longer 😅 ,, very nice video bro. do more of this., my thoughts: 1. why didn't you used Master Portrait on xiaomi its better overall , the dslr vibes is there. 2. @10:00 this is an amazing shot ! was it edited 3. the V40 pro @9:24 vintage look is amazing too ,, actually its very veryyy good ! 4. the best till far for portraits is the Oppo !
Hahaha yeah wasn't sure how i truly wanted to present the video honestly, a too much of a break down can be bad and very long hahhaa. Xiaomi does indeed give dslr feel, but where you need to edit it, so it isn't "ready for post" where with the 13 pro those samples I showed weren't edited, that was straight from the phone. Shot at 10 minutes wasn't edited, i only edited Sony and Xiaomi in this one:) and yeah vintage is very nice! Sure the vivo cannot keep up with the big brother in details, but it does well I think!
I have the x100u. I prefer the xiaomi color science for portraits in here, reminds me of pics from a fujifilm camera. I know I could have similar results with the included filters, but out of the box, it's definitely the xiaomi
Honestly Sony is so bad with portrait modes most of the time. Any brightness in the background and it just blows out entirely. Same old story. Time to try the Vivo X200 Pro I think.
frankly Thank you Thank you for your great work Thank you to the model (superb forest / autumn atmosphere) In all the devices, the Vivo X100 is for me really the best, because ok the photos are sometimes a little hard, but it is so easy to retake them with these levels of detail I specify that I do not pose it, but that if the X200 does the same, I will clearly look for it to have one by by Samsung and Apple
What's wild is that she kept texting me saying that she was going to be in a video soon and I was confused but now I totally see.😂😂 If you look really closely you can see she's texting me on the bench shots.
well it's their choice xD hahaha ^^ Shame but it is what it is. Main reason is that I know I am getting a lot of questions about the x200 series so it sucks I cannot give any answer on that
To be honest the Sony looks the worst, probably followed by Xiaomi 14 ultra. Some of the cheaper phones are even doing better than these two. I like the Oppo Find x7 ultra the best, probably followed by the Vivo x100 ultra and Oneplus 12. For 3x especially the Oppo just has a far superior sensor
Sony 100%! with more some shots doing ok, Xiaomi colours are bad! After editing it can look good, but I question how many want to add portrait shots taken on a PHONE, on a camera I fully get it.

Oh let me check that out!!!
oh it's already on that for me.
@@ThroughJermainesLens does it stick? I have to change it everyday because it keeps defaulting to "face" for me.
Vivo 🔥🔥🔥
Would have liked to see the pictures aligned in the video to easily compare the bookeh effect. Otherwise very good review.
Problem with that is that it would be: Which do you put next to eachother, Make it 3 and you ar elimiting the amount you can see, make it 2 and then you have to switch between so many hahaha.
Xioami did a great job making the files look natural dslr-ish. But failed a bit in the colors.
yeah that is the part it struggles with, and it becomes a question on rather you want to edit it or not. And it isn't always the best in edge detection.
@@ThroughJermainesLens❤ amazing video , which of the portrait mods was used on the xiaomi leica or master 😊 keep up the good work .Cheers from Czechia.

Why do I feel that your 14 Ultra phone has something wrong with its camera?
Great shots from your side....
Thank you ;)
The Xiaomi shots felt more natural overall. Am I wrong?
Xiaomi is the closest to the depth feel, skin was too dark on here compared to reality, and then in some cases the skin feels a bit lifeless.
It's inconsitent with that
@@ThroughJermainesLens
I rewatched the video and compared the shots to the R8, and while it's definitely a matter of personal preference, I'd choose the Xiaomi.
Maybe Im just getting old 😆😆
On these Oppo and Vivo you couldnt play with shadows, because there are simply no shadows left. I repeat: Matter of preference.
You should update the latest firmware to 14Ultra, the camera software has been fixed in it
@@aldiozz i have, but the global version is well behind the Chinese version
the Xaiomi 14t Pro pls
Top review als altijd. Ik heb mijn 100 ultra besteld maar als ik review zie dan ben ik nu aan het twijfelen of vivo 200 pro betere keuze was misschien
Altijd moeilijk om te zeggen hahaha. En dankje!
i wished it's a bit longer 😅 ,, very nice video bro. do more of this., my thoughts:
1. why didn't you used Master Portrait on xiaomi its better overall , the dslr vibes is there.
2. @10:00 this is an amazing shot ! was it edited
3. the V40 pro @9:24 vintage look is amazing too ,, actually its very veryyy good !
4. the best till far for portraits is the Oppo !
For me Xiaomi 14 ultra is the best
I have the x100u. I prefer the xiaomi color science for portraits in here, reminds me of pics from a fujifilm camera. I know I could have similar results with the included filters, but out of the box, it's definitely the xiaomi
I can get that, but the skin just looks really off. What I like about xiaomi show natural the depth feels. But the skin realllllyyy needs work!
Please review the redmi 14 pro plus £200 for those specs!?
wait I just looked, that's a newer device... why is it named that way xD can also not find it anywhere atm

Thank you to the model (superb forest / autumn atmosphere)
In all the devices, the Vivo X100 is for me really the best, because ok the photos are sometimes a little hard, but it is so easy to retake them with these levels of detail
I specify that I do not pose it, but that if the X200 does the same, I will clearly look for it to have one

@@willzdemy no ;) I only edited I think 2 shots of sony (showcase that^^) and 1 of xiaomi
@@ThroughJermainesLens to be honest I don't like the shot. I prefer all shots taken with the Vivo X100 Ultra
But Sony is the worst, it's like a pro mode on any smartphone with some special features
Sony 100%! with more some shots doing ok, Xiaomi colours are bad! After editing it can look good, but I question how many want to add portrait shots taken on a PHONE, on a camera I fully get it.
the oppo ultra, vivo ultra and xiaomi ultra all use the same sensor, dude
@@itszaidihamid but they have very different software and optics
@@ThroughJermainesLens Yeah, it's just too inconsistent. Can produce a great shot but it messes up quite often too. That's why I like the Oppo for portraits. It's fairly consistent
