    I use the camranger before and returned it. It was so slow, currently using my Sony app has been working great never had a problem. Also using Godox amazing products. The only problem I have with the Godox is I wish the manual would override the trigger on the camera, because most of the time, if I want to change the power of one of my lights, I need to do it from the trigger that can slightly move the camera and would be bad since I’m stacking all of my pictures!

    Great video. I’m an architect looking to get into architecture photography (internals and externals). What is the bare minimum in terms of lenses that I need to get started? I will mostly be shooting real estate at first to develop my skills. However, I still want to be able to shoot the more standard widths as those images are much more artistic.
    For instance, could I get the 24mm ts canon and do without the 14-24mm wide angle or visa versa? I assume that I’d need the 24-70 whatever the case?

    What would you say is the spread of your light usage? I’m looking to add a bigger light to my kit and can’t decide on a 400 or a 600… good tip on the 300’s modeling light-I didn’t know it could change temp. Nice!

    Sweet dude. I'm also a Sony shooter, using the a7 III for photos every now and then and the a7 IV for video. Can't complain! 2 AD600 pro, 2 AD300 pro, 1 AD200 pro and 1 AD100 pro, for photos of course. Godox VL 150 for video and SLB 60 for a back light, a variety of soft boxes and china lamps SET! READY! GO!

    What camera bag do you recommend to fits the camera, lens, drone, gimbal? I’m in construction / real estate so need something sturdy.

    Hi Matthew, are you using the Camranger 2 to transmit files to your laptop for storage there or simply to give you live view and remote control with storage on the camera SD cards? I shoot on a Sony a7R4 and I'm wondering what the transmit time for a raw file to my laptop would be. Big files when there's an impatient client watching over my shoulder. Thanks.

    From looking at forums I can tell that all Camrangers 2 fall apart eventually :( I think they used poor quality plastic for this one. Both of my antennas and the battery door lasted only few months of heavy usage. I don't have a backup currently so I just keep using it all taped up lol

    Yeah the camranger is a love how useful it is, hate how shitty it’s built. My battery door is latched with gaff tape.

    I noticed you went from the pretty anemic TT600 (weaker than the TT860/V1 which are ~75w) to the AD300 as an inbetween. I have the AD200, is that still adequate for a main flash unit assuming the space doesnt have huge open spaces?

    Hey Matt, thanks for posting this. As someone whos been renting a Profoto B10 and B1 flash for a while I've become used to using it. Although the Profoto always came with such glowing reviews, I'm happy to see that you love Godox. Not only is it significantly cheaper but they also seem comparable to the Profoto. Would you say the AD400 is enough to get you through an interior design shoot? I might consider giving it a go instead of investing in the profoto. Another quick question while I'm here, what do you tether to exactly? Lightroom, C1, or is there another program that you tether to when using the cam ranger. Thanks so much

    • @chrisrestrepo1526
      @chrisrestrepo1526 ปีที่แล้ว

      The CamRanger2 uses its own app on the iPad/phone or laptop. You don’t have to use another app for the tethering.

    • @MatthewAPhoto
      @MatthewAPhoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't tether to any kind of program while shooting. Chris is correct...you just use the Camranger app on your iPad, phone, or laptop. And yeah...the AD400 puts out a ton of light. BUT if you're shooting every single frame at f11 ISO 100 - you're going to struggle to get light out of ANY kind of flash.

    • @kubal7247
      @kubal7247 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've been using all kinds of godox flashes for years and they are super reliable. I'd say 400 is enough for 95% of situations if you are ok with ISO 200-320 and F9ish :) When it's not I use the 600. Godox is just amazing value and makes profoto look silly with their prices. I would recommend buying these lights from Strobepro in Canada. It's the same lights with same pricing but with their branding and actual customer service/repairs if you ever need that. The regular godox customer service is almost non existent.

    Good stuff. A couple of questions: Does that metabones adapter work decently well? I've got a sony a7siii and was thinking of buying one to put my old nikon lenses on. It seems like they have mixed reviews online. Also, does the Octagon softbox work with the ad400 or does it require the power of the AD600 to be effective?

    • @MatthewAPhoto
      @MatthewAPhoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never had an issue with the metabones adapter. Been using it for a couple years and its been great. The octobox works great with the ad400 as well. It puts out a lot of light but another big factor to consider is your camera settings...if you're shooting at f11 with ISO 100, you're going to struggle to get a decent amount of light out of ANY flash.

      CamRanger is literally a (dual band) wireless router and will provide far better range than your cameras built in wifi. Beyond that, the iPad app is very functional compared to the other camera apps I’ve used-though have not tried Sonys.

    Out of curiosity why a 24-70 instead of a 24-105mm f4?

    • @MatthewAPhoto
      @MatthewAPhoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hardly ever run into a situation where I would need to shoot a building or space beyond 70mm. Worst case, I just crop in a bit. On the A7r4 I have thousands of pixels to spare.
