    This is a great video, Matt. Especially for someone who is at my stage of trying to break into interior photography. Can't thank you enough!!

    Thanks Matthew!! You’ve really clarified all the questions I believe a lot of people interested in learning Interior/Architectural photography have. I feel like a lot of people speed through things and hide the important aspects/essentials of truly understanding the full process. You were very informative. In the few years I have been seeking, this is the FIRST and exact video I’ve been looking for so thank you!

      I appreciate the care and time you’ve put in this. I know you’re super busy and these videos are time consuming to do. In the video you showed how to shoot for an interior designer, I know you said that talking about the entire edit got too long but I personally enjoy videos like this. I would love to continue seeing videos similar to this of different projects. Every new project we encounter a new challenge and that is what I believe will make your videos awesome. Showing how you manage them through!

    wow! Thank you so much for this AMAZING tutorial. The diagram that explains how the layout and lighting interacted with the camera was super helpful and seeing how to blended an ambient layer at the end really tied it all together. Also, the color layer to correct parts of the sitting area is such a cool tool I can't thank you enough for this insightful video. I really appreciate it!

    Hi Matt, what are the settings of White Balance for both ambient frames and flash frames?
    Seems like you based on AWB(Flash) - in Sony cameras, the symbol is AWB + Lighting icon, and you adjusted the ambient frames only, left the flash frames at its original WB?
    What if the dominant temperature is Tungsten? Will you stick a CTO gel to your Flash?
    Thanks a lot

    Hey Matthew. When you talk about the 7ft westcott umbrella, are you referring to the white one or the one with the black back side? Thanks

    • @MatthewAPhoto

      The one with the black side. I use it to bounce light in it instead of a shoot through

    How did you check the color temperature and tint? Light meter? Do you keep all you images at the same color and tint for a shoot? How? Anyone has an answer?

    • @MatthewAPhoto
      @MatthewAPhoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes I use a grey card or reference something in the shot that should be white or a neutral grey

  • @DesignSQ

    Does the "Light towards and light perpendicular" rule only apply to interiors? I generally think exteriors seem too dark when shooting towards the light source.

    • @MatthewAPhoto
      @MatthewAPhoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For the most part, yeah its a great rule of thumb for interiors. It works well for exteriors but a big difference there is you can also have light come from above. Basically...as long as you don't have the main light hitting the space or building at the same angle your camera is pointed - you should be good.

    • @houtaneghbali4816
      @houtaneghbali4816 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MatthewAPhoto whats the reason for this rule for exterior? For interior im guessing its for having the right shadows, correct?

    Great to see the process. I could do without the background music - I don’t think it’s necessary and it’s a bit annoying, I just wanted to turn it off.
