You may be wondering, what does it mean to have an agile voice and do you really want one? Well to answer the latter first, yes you absolutely want one and then as for what an agile voice is, it's being able to sing clearly defined notes with ease so what's not to love about that?! An agile singing voice can show off with fast complicated riffs, but equally can show off with smooth interesting intervals. Agility in our voices is not wholly aligned with speed of singing. In fact I would argue that a voice that can cleanly sing through notes at a regular speed is far more agile than one that blurs them at speed. And don't worry, this warm up doesn't forget agility with words either!
In this video we start as always by grounding ourselves and finding our breath, breathing in, holding and exhaling our breath. Our SOVT (semi occluded vocal tract) exercise is some fabulously childish tongue trill arpeggios. After that we do five note scales to alternating MAH MEE vowels accessing some lovely nasal resonance and laying agile foundations. Then we get working on some words singing numbers as we build to a five note scale before we do a fabulous tongue twister down a major scale increasing speed. Our final exercise is Sabrina Carpenter inspired and octave leaps with a chromatic descent to alternating OOH EEE vowels (appologies for my piano in this one...) Ooh feel the agility!
New videos come every week so let me know in the comments what you'd like to hear about (Technique? Song breakdowns? Singer analysis?) We're a democracy at MusicForMy... so you get to chose!

Yes I will! I did one a while ago for finding richness in the lower ranges, but will do a fresh one soon - here it is th-cam.com/video/Rw6-SRL15b8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=O8Hv5AMGBPrhBNn3 ❤️
