They've been fixing up stuff that people criticized in the demo. Ships are sturdier now and the camera was improved.
As a die-hard Homeworld fan who has listened to the HW1 intro many times, there is a slight discrepancy in the above video. Starting at 0:54, the narrator states that "...for 100 years, worked together to construct a grand mothership...". This is inaccurate. The HW1 intro states that 100 years ago is when the hyperspace core and the Guidestone was discovered, but then states the construction of the mothership would take 60 years. It seems that the narrator in HW1 is telling the history of the Hiigarans, finishing with the ending narration at the end of the game. So effectively, 40 years had passed since the mothership was built, the journey to Hiigara took place, and the narrator telling the story.
Dear HW3 team, The future of the Hiigarans is in your hands. We hope you will not allow HW to die. We have high hopes for your success. End of message.
I'm so thankful this company and the developer want to get this right. If its broke on day one. No one remembers it and the game dies. That shows their dedication to quality. This will be the game they talk about and play again in 20 years when I'm 60 ha. Just like I played the originals in my teens and early 20s

It was such a great story, but not central to the main plot. Personally I'd have centred Kiith Somtaaw as the new protagonist clan in 3, though.

Yeah me too the models and everything. So happy they are trying to get this right on day. We are so used to get it out there make some money we will fix the bugs after release. Games get low ratings and die. Why they don't figure that out is so weird.

I remember when the Homeworld Remastered games came out. Things looks better than before, but the intro animation for Homeworld was simplified a lot and did not look as good, which was sad. The original Homeworld animation was better made, though of course, lower resolution.
Are you talking about black and white animation between missions? I think they were stylish and cool.

Homeworld series has incredible sci-fi opera story. The writing is up there with the best.

like ever....i don't get it. even the bentusi got involved in spinking that virus. would've taken over the galaxy in ways nobody ever knew. but nah...lol. wish theyd tie in the stories a little more in depth. but so far i love it overall.

It's been a bunch of years since I bough the original HW game, with the lore guide 'hidden' in the installation CD.
How weird was to see the guy in 00:17 and say out loud 'dude is from Kiith Naabal', as if I've just read it yesterday.

Also, Karen took a new Mothership into her journey, but what happened to Sajuuk, i wonder if we will find out.
@@Bogdan221192 Given that Sajuuk is a Progenitor artifact with immense historical value, it's unlikely the Hiigarans would risk damaging it like they did with the Dreadnaught.
@@kraosdadafusfus8034 i mean, it makes sense to not send Karen into the unknown with it, but i hope it is in some research facility/shipyard, being studied under microscope, but at the same time ready to engage in sudden conflict. Also i would like to hear more about Galaxy state at whole, expand the universe a little bit.
I remember how 1 & 2 grabbed hold of my. Last year I got the remastered versions of all the previous. Still great stuff imo

Kinda. If I remember correctly, according to the lore, the Higaarans committed genocide on such a scale that it was horrific enough to warrant the extinction of their race (because they were considered too dangerous), but non-involved parties intervened and persuaded the Taidani Empire to just exile them onto DoK (which was basically a death sentence anyway). They never expected the Higaarans to make such a huge comeback though.
But in lieu of the "age of S'Jet" and the prosperity which that helped bring about, everyone kinda ended up forgetting all of the atrocities from before xD
So I guess they're pretty chill now.
Should rename it to "History of S'jet" because that bloodline is all this video focuses on.
1:38 i dont like how they make the the building dissapear and use the generic smoke affect on this part doesnt feel so impactful like the original cutscene

Demo was really disappointing and I was so hyped for my childhood game. I hope the final product will be much better, even if we have to wait even more.
It should be called HOME WORLD 4 ，I remember the trilogy called HOME WORLD : Disaster. No matter what , The storytelling of the first three installments is very good. Anyway, I hope this one doesn't disappoint me. The game should have a breakthrough in storytelling compared to the first three installments, which will amaze all players. Otherwise, the brand of this series will be ruined in the future.

I have to say, as a huge fan of Homeworld since 1999 I am not liking this new cartoonish cinematic style. These cinematics don't look nearly as good as the originals IMO.
They spent all of their budget on making the actual game or decided to cut a few corners, I suppose. The cinematics take a back seat in this one, but that's a price I think almost everyone is willing to play in exchange for such a gorgeous game. I agree though, even DoK, which was developed by BBI, had better cinematic cutscenes. Who knows, could also just be a different artist. We have to remember that BBI was forced to lay off a lot of good people during the latter part of the development due to difficult times and economic pressure which indicates that they certainly can't afford to spend more than what they need on mere cutscenes.
They should've gone with the rotoscoped look of the remastered/DOK cutscenes. They're fantastic.
Terrible. no gameplay and a flash-style animation trailer....pretty low, especially for Gearbox.
