not sure how I feel about this talk + chill training style of video now that it's all done. I liked making it, so that's sweet. Was is enjoyable for you guys? Try more of the same? If yes, any topics you'd like to talk about?

I really enjoyed it, it felt poetic. And the intimacy feeling is a good way to interact with the audience I think, we are used to seeing the final result on Instagram, clips of big tricks and tend to forget the journey to get there. I discovered parkour a long time ago and really enjoyed it, I trained in a gymnastics gym but it was hard for me to push myself to learn new tricks and get out of my confort zone. Especially outside I felt quite overwhelmed by the task of finding something to do, and found it hard not to be comparing my movement with what I saw on internet. As a result I haven't progressed that much, partly because of injuries but I'm trying to get back into it, build strength and this type of video is a good reminder that the most important is to have fun, challenge yourself and small step by small step we can cover a long distance.
I will maybe see you at omfg where I will feel like a fraud compared to all the other amazing athletes but it will still be amazing !

I'm training parkour for a half of year. I think I'm intermediate and its incredible that I train parkour and make progres realy fast but I usualy use step vault, kong, pop, strieds, wall runs, climb ups and rolls. It's easy and i like this amazing feeling of being free when doing pre.

I used to be an intermediate/advanced buuuuuuuuuuuut after a looooooooong break I think I will be starting my journey from the beginners level again hahah :D Of course the body has it's own memory so it wouldn't take me that long to reach the level I was at. To be honest I am excited about starting all over because just like in life, in parkour as well, it's all about enjoying the journey and not solely focusing on the destination. Parkour is not just a sport it is an art and also a form of therapy. ♥
Thanks for the inspiration Jason. It is always a treat to watch your videos.

Agree so much! You just have to let go of the ego and the pressure attached to being at a certain level or being able to do move XYZ. Once that’s gone it’s so fun to even just do the small things. Funny enough those are the sessions I’ll actually end up doing something new in the end 😊

    • @TheJasonPaul
      @TheJasonPaul  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

The struggle is real 😁 I always try to remind myself that I’m already way beyond anything I thought I’d ever achieve. When I started the wallspin was the dopest trick ever and even that seemed impossible at the start. It’s easy to forget the magic those moves had once they become second nature.

@@TheJasonPaul Wow, thanks so much for this response Jason! It's super amazing to hear such a down to earth and humble perspective from someone who's achieved so much and has inspired my training for the past 6.5 years! After 6 years, I finally feel like I've hit the point in my movement where I'm doing the things which once seemed impossible to me many years ago, and that's a super satisfying feeling which helps to ground me when I'm feeling disappointed about not conquering a challenge or failing a difficult trick. It's really cool to see that you share that perspective. Thank you so much for all the wonderful movement, wisdom, and positivity you've brought to the community ❤️

I'm following your channel now for like 5years. I started parkour when i was 13/14 i remember i wanted to backflip so badly. And learned it pretty quickly. I trained parkour daily until i was i think like 17. Then i suddenly stopped. Now i'm 20 and ofc i still can do sum stuff but i just know how many things i lost thruout the years of not doing parkour cause i lost the drive. I still watch your videos or others on instagram and youtube and i do miss it. I think I'll start again from the ground up and hopefully find the love for the sport again that i had.

I was trapped at the advanced level for many years and felt bored because of stagnation. I trained alone on the same old spots and did the same things all the time. Finally I stopped training parkour for 3 years, because it was no longer fun for me. I come back about month ago and it feels so good after that break. I regained freshness and inside energy to try new things and just having fun of it. I would love to see some videos with this new approach, where you talk about working on some specific tricks like for example the front flip, cause even though I watched dozens of tutorials, I never achieved it and got discouraged after trying to learn it for some weeks without any progress.

I really enjoyed the video :)
I would say I'm a bit smeared betweeen intermediate and advanced and tickle some of master xD
I've been training on and off for about 10 years now but still really struggle with getting over fear and commiting to moves that are outside of my comfort zone as well as learning moves that are awkward for me (for example, I still can't roll of concrete without hurting myself), but at the same time I have a wide vocabulary of moves in the areas I enjoy training and have really started to form my own style that is different from anyone else I train with regularly and sometimes make my own moves that I've never seen anyone else do before. So depending on how you look at it I could either be intermediate or advanced.. I don't think I can actually make the argument I've obtained mastery though.
Anyway, great video again! I'm really happy you are making videos again :)

Thank you! So glad to be back on TH-cam 😁 you’d be surprised how many seriously good people have gaps in their skills. I know people who can do insane flip precisions, but can’t roll pain free. 2. bring music and have a little training Playlist. Here it is btw: open.spotify.com/playlist/5X6jrdvWAiWJfFw5lsvn3I?si=936733e85fff4bf7
      3. Join Parkour Online Forum's or some sort of group online
      4. take longer trips and go to training sessions with more people every other week
      Hope this helps

If you look into Matt McrCeary, especially some of his older movement, you can find some great inspiration. He has plenty of content probably in similar spots as yours.

True, Matt is a great example. You might enjoy watching some Leo Urban for inspiration as well. Moving in nature is great and fallen over trees are awesome for vault practice 😁 but you also have to be more free in your approach and adapt to the obstacle, instead of relying on set moves

This is an awesome video but the thumbnail is kind of sh*t! Du im Schneidersitz auf dem Baumstumpf am meditieren fühl ich mehr! Richtig zen wie das Video! ^^ Als joke könntest du sogar überm Stumpf levitieren!
