i've been obsessed with weirdcore, dreamcore, and such for so long, and seeing this get exposure to a larger audience is just awesome. Edit: Thank you for all the likes and comments! Yes, I do understand the differences between dreamcore, weirdcore, and liminal spaces.
I got into dreamcore around 2015 but never explore too much until 2021 which I been into the community so much. Feels like I been to some of the places before but yet it's scary. Wanna be there but know it's not safe xd.
In my opinion, I think the scary thing about dreamcore is the fact that there is no one there. There’s a lot of images that show playgrounds, parks, and places where someone would have a birthday party. All places where you would usually see people, but in this case, there’s no one there. It looks deserted, or abandoned, which is why people find it unsettling. As Eddie said, it feels like you’ve been there before, because you have been at a place like a playground at least once in your life. It triggers your fear of being alone, but is also welcoming for the reason that you know you’ve been there before.
Definition of Dreamcore: According to i-D, dreamcore is defined as an aesthetic that revolves around weird imagery “and objects that often tap into nostalgia or things you may have been in childhood.” But instead of being “cute or comforting,” it creates a sense of surrealism and uneasiness
Right! It feels inviting no matter what the image appears as. I personally really like the flower people and like when the have eyes for heads yk? if that makes sense- I drew an image where it had a house with stairs in the back, clouds, bright blue sky, white fence, and I think of it was a loving welcoming mother. She said "Welcome home!" And she had an eye for a head, and a pink outfit along with white mixed with the pink. One of my favorite drawings. :p
I love how this images are the explanation of dreamcore, Like the flowers, once you see them, you’ll get obsessed. Once you get obsessed, there’s no coming back. You are now between 2 worlds but be careful because now you’ll start to mix both of them, not knowing what reality even is or if there’s actually a reality to live in.
Since I was young, I've always been completely creeped out/absolutely terrified of neighborhoods that repeat and are identical. Down to small details. No clue where it stems from, but I hate it so much. Even when I traveled, if I encounter a neighborhood similar to the above, I would need to leave. No clue if that's dreamcore ish..but figured I'd share lol
As someone who's addicted to weirdcore/dreamcore type things I'm so glad that this video has been made!! The dreamcore type music is also really good too! It just makes me really happy that one of my favorite TH-camrs is also getting addicted to one of my favorite aesthetics :]
I think the vibe of dreamcore has the same feeling of losing your childhood. I personally have bad memory problems and this has the same vibe of a memory tugging at the mind. I have looked into this, and i think the reason we find it creepy is best summarized by this phrase: "The only thing scarier than the unknown, is the distortion of the familiar." -unknown I love the potential that dreamcore has.
There is also one called truamacore, its not even supposed to be an aesthetic but its basically like dreamcore but the captions are like "dont hurt me anymore..." or something like "my head hurts.." and it shows cute rooms with disturbing vibes like a hello kitty wallpaper and everything is sanrio themed. For example: 11:33 has hello kitty so you could use that for a truamaCore image with text.
dreamcore has always freaked me out. it's like how eddie said it seems inviting but you can feel there's something wrong with the space. like you're not supposed to be there. it kind of feels the same way as liminal space horror.
It feels like you have been there during your childhood, but don’t know when you were there, or they are forgotten memories of something that you discovered a long time ago.
Currently obsessed with Dreamcore too. Along with Traumacore, Weirdcore, Clowncore, Kidcore etc. For about a year now ! It's nice to know my favorite youtuber also has an interest in this type of stuff. :))
Every image Eddie showed, I feel like I've been to all of the places, especially they playground like areas. I think I almost always have dream core like dream, Ending up in random rooms for no reason, going to happy areas with an odd feeling. But I always forget the dream after I wake up and seeing those images brought me recognition. This is very interesting. I think I had a nightmare about a similar room where I got possessed by something. Very intriguing!
I don’t know why, but dreamcore and liminal spaces bring some strange comfort to me. They are just beautiful in some way. I really don’t understand why.
I can't be the only one that's happy that he was actually showing dreamcore photos. I've seen people make videos on dreamcore but end up getting mixed up and showing weird core or pastel core or even nightmare core
Whenever I’m drawing, I listen to Dreamcore music; it helps me with my creativity. I love dreaming and Dreamcore gives me the same feeling when I am asleep and in a vivid dream.
Liminal spaces are the "in-between" of time. Imagine a bedroom having 3 stages: 1. Construction 2. 3. Completed Liminal spaces is that 2nd stage, the middle of being close, but not yet finished.
I think dreamcore has this feeling of nostalgia because your dreams have the same background but you forget most of them then when you look at dreamcore imagery you feel nostalgia
3:13 I feel like I’ve been here before and I actually know exactly where I get the nostalgia from. It looks so much like a little place in a mall about 20 minutes away from my house. It was only open when I was about 7 and younger, and I used to go into it all the time. That is the most clear nostalgia I’ve had ever. I even showed my cousin and my mom and they also made the exact same connection and the exact same place
only about 2 minutes into this video, i figured out why we can't explain the feeling we get when we see dreamcore.... also, i am not referring to the deadliness, i am referring to the friendliness it's because it's so welcoming and friendly. we aren't used to that. it's such a foreign concept, it's unsettling now i'm realising that that doesn't make sense--
09:22 - that's the suburban neighborhood from Edward Scissorhands, by the way. It may look happy and inviting, but it's just full of shallow, superficial people, that's its whole point. Sorry to ruin the mystery, but I'm just confused how no one has recognized it. A great movie, btw.
A lot of pledges from dreamcore or weirdcore are places you’ve seen on your dreams, you might even not remember it but it gives a familiar feeling and sometimes mixed feelings about the place. It can also happen in real places too that’s basically the thing about dreamcore
I've been obsessed with weirdcore and dreamcore for a while now, I've even started making some stories based on the aesthetic, but honestly, I wish I was introduced to it with this video. You are such a vibe 👁️👄👁️
The art of it is so un settling yet beautiful and calming in its own way. It reminds you of places you’ve been and places you wish to go. It’s magical yet scary, so please. Visitors, be careful.
I’d honestly say that the feeling some experience when looking at these dream core images is that it’s either triggering warm memories/nice things that have been reminded or maybe you feel like it’s welcoming you but really it’s that feeling of discomfort and unsettlement because it seems familiar but you just can’t recognise it at the same time.. It’s so weird but it’s really intriguing and cool at the same time 😊
For sure my favorite aesthetic, I can’t be the only one who sees Mr. Kitty as a comfort tho. Like dude is just a prankster who loves all things cute like hello kitty or maybe even gloomy bear. Not to mention the backroom he’s in you can actually live in. Everything you need if you can handle his playful scares
Honestly when I see images like this it makes me feel like I’ll cry, something funny is that I’m only 13 so I never really existed in the 2000’s but I see liminal spaces and then just get so sad and nostalgic. Thought I’d just dump my thoughts here.
8:10 literally reminded me of Target's old food shops. If you look up target 2010s food court, it gives you the same vibe of every picture in the video.
honestly, weirdcore is my absolute favorite aesthetic of all time. including dreamcore it feels safe for me. I've just felt comfortable looking at these pictures and its just nice
Dreamcore- an aesthetic that gives people weird feelings like nostalgia as a child which is like you feel- okay a better definition is that you feel comfortable but uneasy at the same time. Like the backrooms is a dreamcore type. Dreamcore also includes another aesthetic called kidcore which is full of bright colors that remind you when you played in places as a kid.
I love Eddie having a great time to dreamcore and liminal space, and I love the simple idea of Liminal Space cause of the ambient feeling and that distant memory you get from it
With everything I've seen, researched, and currently understand all of "dreamcore" and "liminal spaces" are deeply disturbing. I take no issue to "living" in those spaces when I've been there in whatever physical or spiritual sense or state of being but just knowing how and where this stuff originates from completely prevents me from enjoying it in the ways so many people seemingly do.
Really did not expect this😅 I'm glad that ur interested in this type of stuff, and i'd be really happy if u could make more interesting videos like this one. For some reason, every single horror game, horror story, even weird stuff, u make it look much funnier than it actually is. I think that's the actual reason why we all appreciate what u do!
Dreamcore Places remind you of a place youve been to but off.A hollow feeling created by the camera never being fully centered and even if it is the room feels a little too long not like the room doubled in length, just long enough to notice when you look at the image for a second or a place you have always seen at a lot of people in or had to go specific ways in. a place that there is always someother living being around you being completely empty or abandond yet its in perfect order like it was recently cleaned to inhuman perfection to the point where when you see someone or something even if its peaceful it still feels wrong like its too many people even if its one thing. a little to cold but also too warm with the mixure of the darkness and light. almost like you are not supposed to be there like the storage areas for a walmart. But the nostalgia draws you in, you recognise somthing and scroll back to find a place you know, but its off. Its just a little too dark, too long, too cosy, too clean, too lonely, too bright, too colorful and too bland all at the same time. Dreamcore is for lack of a better term the backrooms of reality, places that feel wrong to be in dispite nothing being wrong like you arent allowed there even tho you are. A place that feels like it shouldnt exist right before your eyes. A place that feels like home without feeling like home.
My definition of dream core: dreamcore is pictures/videos that give you a feeling that you have been there before, like a dream. Weirdcore however is very similar. It is like the name. It’s WEIRD. There are almost different kinds of weirdcore, some can be creepy or inviting ❤
This makes me very happy!😌❤ One of my favorite aesthetics is dream core. It exited me when I first seen Eddie post this video, I felt more comfortable, and at home when He said he likes this Aesthetic.
2:25 - I think it’s called atmospheric horror Also, I have a theory about dreamcore/liminal space that I think everyone thinks, but I’m not sure. I think the reason we recognize those images is because we’ve seen them in our dreams. Again, I think everyone else thinks this, but I’m too stupid to know

At 11:27 I’ve definitely been there before, I think somewhere within my photos I have a picture of that exact pool and statue. Definitely a weird but calming vibe to it
I am absolutely obsessed with dreamcore, weirdcore, nostalgiacore and traumacore so to see one of my absolute favorite creators if not my favorite do a video on these topics and say he likes them has made my day. Keep you eddie because we all need your videos.
Yea, it's pretty cool too. I like the horror it has. One of my favorite images is with several mushrooms, its dark in the background, there's like a checkered, scary, but yet kind of welcoming floor, and they have few eyes on each of them.
Definitely the weirdest video I’ve made.

I am absolutely obsessed with dreamcore, weirdcore, nostalgiacore and traumacore so to see one of my absolute favorite creators if not my favorite do a video on these topics and say he likes them has made my day. Keep you eddie because we all need your videos.
10:30 that's like an album color kind of vibe
Something similar is weirdcore. It does have more of a horror element to it. Hope you enjoy ♥️
Yea, it's pretty cool too. I like the horror it has. One of my favorite images is with several mushrooms, its dark in the background, there's like a checkered, scary, but yet kind of welcoming floor, and they have few eyes on each of them.
I love the feeling of weirdcore and dreamcore
I’ve been in the dreamcore and weirdcore aesthetic for some years now and I’m glad that Eddie likes it :)
something that is probably not a popular opinion, but at 6:54, it makes me think of the webtoon "everything is fine"
5:52 looks like a Hispanic sunday school classes u go before church service starts
10:38 no one notice how this looks oddly like the asylum?
i love weirdcore dreamcore and kidcore and ik A LOT about weirdcore dreamcore and kidcore so much and I LOVE THEM TO MUCH
