  • In this episode i'm gonna tell you everything you need to know about visa and border crossing of Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, India and Nepal.
Here you can find additional informations and all the google maps locations of the most important places where you have to go:
    TURKEY
For European citizens (or at least for Italians…) an ID card is enough to enter, but if you are carrying with you a passport i suggest to use it because, otherwise, you’ll get a tiny little piece of paper with the entrance stamp, which you are most likely going to lose before you leave Turkey.
No need for Carnet de Passage.
You do need vehicle insurance. Some European companies already cover Turkey.
    GEORGIA
You can buy the compulsory insurance for your vehicle directly at the border, in a container on the left. It’s easy, cheap and straightforward.
No need for Carnet de Passage.
    ARMENIA
Unlike Georgia, do NOT buy any insurance at the border or you will get fooled by a factor of 10x. Use the official website: aswa.am/
No need for Carnet de Passage, but you’ll get a Temporary Import Permit, in the form of a simple page paper, which you’ll have to carry with you till you get out.
    IRAQ (KURDISTAN)
Visa on arrival, directly at the border. No need for online application. Pretty long overal process.
Cost: around 75$. Must pay cash. You can change money at the little market nearby the immigration office, at a fairly bad rate but better than nothing.
    No vehicle insurance needed.
No need for a Carnet de Passage, but they will check the bike in every part (frame number, engine number, color etc) and fill in some documents that you’ll have to return when you get out.
    IRAN
Official website for Visa application: evisa.mfa.ir/en/
Agency to contact in case official application doesn’t work (around 30$ agency fee): en.key2persia.com/home
Cost of visa: 50$ on line + 75$ once you go to collect it at the consulate.
Location of the consulate in Erzurum: goo.gl/maps/MAKzafCEaL92jqZq9
Contact Hamid, aka “the king of the Taftan border”, which will provide you with free accommodation nearby Zahedan and will take care of all the paperwork during the border crossing. He also runs a whatsapp group where you can ask any question during and before you stay in Iran and pakistan.
Coordinates of his place where to sleep: goo.gl/maps/5EKZTpZuhpMRkzGT7
    Hamid’s phone number: +98 939 371 8973
You do need a Carnet de Passage.
    No vehicle insurance needed.
    PAKISTAN
Official website for Visa application: visa.nadra.gov.pk/
Contact for letter of invitation: Hussain +92 321 7990501
Hussain can also provide you with free accommodation + free meals at his home in Sheikhupura, 30km west of Lahore.
    Coordinates of Hussein home goo.gl/maps/p92ZG1R5Ecb551zh6
You do need a Carnet de Passage.
    No vehicle insurance needed.
Important: before crossing the border from Iran, or starting the crossing of Balochistan to reach Iran (Taftan), carry with you enough water, some food and a lot of patience. Be sure to check for any public holiday or any other possible reason why you might get stuck in Quetta waiting for the N.O.C..
As a general rule avoid Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
    INDIA
Official website for Visa application: indianvisaonline.gov.in/
You must apply for a traditional sticker Visa. E-Visa are only valid for travellers coming by flight, not by land.
Official list of documents needed for the application: india.org.pk/pages.php?id=115
    Coordinates of Visatronix office: goo.gl/maps/UCRf8vPGp71SzpNc6
In case you need to make copies, there is a little desk outside the Visatronix office, just 30m further on the right.
Coordinates of the OPD Children building (where the desk for certificates is located) into the PIMS Hospital in Islamabad for Polio vaccine certificate. No need for actually taking a shot of vaccine, just carry with you your passport: goo.gl/maps/vjN3QJD3Bmk1qB1U6
Cost: around 100 $. Must pay cash. Dollars accepted.
    No vehicle insurance needed.
You do need a Carnet de Passage.
    NEPAL
Visa on arrival, directly at the border. No need for online application.
Official website for informations about visa: www.immigration.gov.np/page/t...
    No vehicle insurance needed.
You do need a Carnet de Passage.
Cost: 30$ for 15 days, 50$ for 30 days, 125$ for 90 days. Must pay cash.

Very accurate description of how burocracy can stand on the way of adventure travel, bravo. And this, unfortunately, applies also here in Italy from the moment in which you start looking into the procedure to get a "carnet de passage" from the Italian ACI. Its a good idea to create awarness in these subjects. Thanks and safe journey back home.

    • @ZeroHighWays
      @ZeroHighWays  ปีที่แล้ว

    How to get Carnet?

    • @ZeroHighWays
      @ZeroHighWays  ปีที่แล้ว

In each country the procedure is a bit different, so I didn't get into details which would have been useful only for Italians.
As a general rule you have to contact your Automobile club, ask for the value of your motorbike and with that number you start asking to banks and insurance companies for the deposit.
Once you have done with the deposit you come back to the automobile club, you give all the documents required, you pay and you wait for the paperwork been done. In Italy it might take up to 1 month (15 days in my case), no idea if in other countries it's faster or the same
