  • Disclaimer: I love batoning and survival.
This is a design that inspired many. Bruno Bruna 'Graciut' was the first in 1983 to come up with a geometric knife. Many will simply disregard it as a useless piece of metal, I think of it as art.
This is one of the knives that will be present at the SHARP ART exhibition.

I used to read a bunch of art knife books when i was a kid in the 90s, and i remember seeing this design. I always appreciated what they were and that they existed, but the style just never appealed go me.
CPM154 wasn't anything too special back then; certainly not "the best you could get." I got my first microtech socom in 2005, and it was in s90v. By then, the heat treatment for S30V had been dialed in pretty well and it was becoming the standard.

I think we could argue on steels. Thinking about it, probably we would argue on design as well….it would be cool with some nice beers…

I hate to admit it, but you were right. In an interview with the maker that I will post tomorrow, the steel was not the best available at the time for this work. I assumed the choice was related to the difficulties in grinding other steels available. If you notice, that blade has an amazing job done to it. Twice because there are 2 blades. But it was only part of the reason. The main one was costs.
