I like how you tell people what to think rather than expressing your opinion. You believe we should give the coach a longer leash. That's fine, there are things that he's good at. But It seems to me he empowers individuals at the expense of the team. That's on him. Not trying to bully your listeners into thinking what you think, that's on you.
@Tlilancalqui i think you misunderstand me. I clearly said that listeners should do their homework at not listen to me or anyone else. Sure I express what I think. I'm defending a coach who facing adversity for the first time that really matters. No one should be fired at the first sign of adversity. I disagree that he empowers individuals It's my belief that he sent Armia & Dvorak out on the 5 on 3 to send me message to the others. I'm not a bully. Everyone can think what they want...I just want it to be their thoughts, not the media's

Coach re:Demidov the standard of play in the KHL is likened to an old man's league or the AHL without hitting does standard of competition factor into your timeline for his entry into the NHL?
@royshroud9536 Not necessarily. The fact he's stuck in the KHL this season can be beneficial despite the lack of contact. Speed, hockey IQ & especially D-zone coverage can be worked on. If Demidov can be effective in his own zone in the KHL, which uses a bigger ice surface, just imagine how effective he'll be on North American ice.
@ Coach on big ice speed of play is decidedly slower ! The kid may need “seasoning “ before his entry into the Bell Center! Recall how many years it took Lafleur to ascend to the heights.
@royshroud9536 I disagree. It only looks slower because of the amount of space there is. The speed can be very similar depending on the quality of the opponent.
How long until Hughes addresses the issues in goal ? For my 10c missing out on Askarov was a huge mistake! Montembeault is trading on his chez-nous get out of jail free card too long now !
@royshroud9536 Askarov was another head case. Not what this team needs. Not to mention the asking price was a bit nuts given than the Preds were dealing from weakness. I've said it a million times about Monty. His technique is flawed. I also this is puck tracking leaves much to be desired. Primeau needs some more NHL time on ice to give him a proper assessment. I'm going to explain what the prototypical goalie should look like, and what is available instead nowadays...next show.
@@mtlhockeytalk Montembeault has a plethora of technique flaws and with his increased game exposure NHL shooters are lighting him up ! It's all about the breakout, Roy. But the other side of the defensive coverage is what I always talk about on our own offense. When the other team plays outside the dots in your zone, let them. Limit their ability to get to the middle of the ice and D zone coverage becomes much easier.
Coach, great show and great assessment of the team’s overall play. Not MSL, on the players. Longer leash for the young kids learning. No excuse for the veterans. Sub par effort, taking shortcuts and making far too many mistakes.
You don't put your head down when they make a bad play crewing gum with your head steering at your feet you let the player know i saw that tell don't let them forget that let no when they made a good play you let them know you got there backs then you're going to get the best out of your players
@Dan-fp6gx The worst thing a coach can do with a young team is blow his top on the bench publicly. If he wants to do it behind closed doors, and on an individual basis, that's fine. But ripping into a player publicly is the best way for a coach to lose favour with his team and the fan base.
They have to give him time to get this settled. Like Eric Engels wrote, sometimes the players execute the plan, sometimes they don't. That's not the coaches fault. It's a lack of focus from some of the players.
The players will learn NOTHING Laval because it is even sloppier and less organized.Modern hockey is built around acquiring the talent NOT around coaching or concrete systems it is just a sloppy played sport. There are several layers as to why the team struggles obviously we don't have the talent but we definitely could improve with what we already have.THAT is the coach's job because 3 years in the players obviously DO NOT have the IQ to play smart hockey. When I say MANY layers I mean it and I will explain a couple things. 1The players are chasing the puck and because we do not cover anyone in a collapsed zone coverage we NEVER get the puck.SO our players get tired and NO Arber can NOT skate it up he is slow of foot ONLY Matheson and Hutson can but they are often gassed becuase we were cycled for a minute or more. 2 PP you take what you are given you don't just drop it al the way back EVERY single time like a robot.Hockey is a THINKING game. 3 over passing not nearly enough shots Hutson is guilty Matheson is guilty ALL the forwards except Gally and Caufield are guilty.
