@@latestagegaming #NewViewer BT💙💚♥️💙😎I have a concern here and would appreciate a reply! In that case, can you play Dreams very well on the Back Bone when making stuff in Dreams???? The 3D modeling and making of games in Dreams on the Back Bone??? You see, Dreams is a software title where you can play, share, and create stuff! Specifically your own video games. And I’d like to know if, the Back Bone is good for playing Dreams on it??? Made for PS4 and you can use motion controls for Dreams and there’s a Painting tool as well for making stuff.
I actually just bought one because everyday for at least an hour i have to put these compression things on my legs, which is in the living room, and i cant take my xbox or laptop out there while i do that, so this is a very nice thing to have when i have to do those. Also there are a couple of mobile games i play that have the controls feeling weird and hope that helps with them.
Not being able to use it with a case killed the idea of the backbone for me. I use a clip and DualSense. Only latency comes from the streaming itself, I can’t see there being much more than 10ms difference between the backbone and Bluetooth, I’ve never noticed any latency, be it on console or iPhone remote play.
For people like me who actually wanted to use it for games that are native to the phone rather than as a remote play device, your previous video on the cons of the controller really should have actually detailed what's in the subscription service rather than simply saying there is one. The fact that simulated taps for non-controller support games seems to be a subscription only feature is a huge dealbreaker
I just bought one two days ago and it’s great. Absolutely love it. Only problem i have is I wish you could play your games you have on the epic games store. Most of my pc games are on epic games not steam. But the games I do have on steam work perfectly
Nice! The only workaround for Epic games I see is the Play on Any Screen feature. You could use it to connect your Backbone to another device and play, either directly in the case of a PC or maybe streaming via Moonlight in the case of an iPad. Info on how to do that is here: help.playbackbone.com/hc/en-ca/articles/4413358384151-How-do-I-use-the-Play-On-Any-Screen-feature-
It’s definitely nice! Just wish it didn’t come with a subscription. I think most people will use it for a year while the subscription is free, then drop it when they’re asked to fork over extra cash.
Wonder if the headphone jack (and internal DAC) would work if you plugged a 7th Gen iPod Nano into this. Of course there are no games on the Nano, but would be curious if the headphone jack worked. The Nano's Lightning support is very limited, but some things do work!
I’m on iPhone so I’m not 100% sure, but my Android commenters always talk about emulation working with the Backbone. I don’t see why these apps would require an constant internet connection.
I don’t think the Backbone One with USB-C works with iPhones-it’s made for Android. But you can buy the black Backbone One with the Lightning connector, which is made for iPhones. You’ll definitely be able to use PS Remote Play with it.
So it has its own subscription service to give me access to even more games. This is actually really good and really justifies the price for me because I originally got this thinking of this is just a controller that I can use to play games on Xbox game pass on my iPhone, but it has its own subscription based gaming service. Then this is going to give me even More access to even more games this is awesome yes I’m getting the black Xbox one. And my dyslexic brain actually thought it was actually called the black bone, which to be perfectly honest sounds even cooler
I’ve had a Backbone about two months, and it has been a good controller other than that it does not like to connect because it seems like the USB from the controller to the phone is not that good I have been on weeks trying to get a replacement from them buyer beware
@@latestagegaming My android ps backbone came in. the official remote play app works but not on the standard black backbone controller. It appears as if you need the ps version for remote play
Thanks so much! I don’t think you can use the pass through power port in this way, but one workaround I’ve seen is to use AirPlay to mirror your iPhone to an Apple TV, and connecting the Apple TV to a capture card. Then you can use the Backbone to play while capturing video. That said, I don’t have a capture card yet so I can’t test this. Maybe give it a shot if you have an Apple TV?
@@latestagegaming Thanks for your answer. Yes it works with the airplay using wifi network but i prefer to connect directly the card to the phone to have a video signal more stable. If i find the answer i will share it with you. Thanks a lot for your reply.
No worries at all! Yeah, the Apple TV thing is definitely a non-ideal workaround. Would be best if the Backbone could output video to a capture card. Definitely let me know if you figure something out!
Idk wether to get the black version or white PS version, are they both the same? Other than buttons. I’m gonna be using both PS remote play and Xbox game streaming
They are basically the same, yes. Aside from the face buttons and color, the only other difference is that you get one month of Game Pass with the black Backbone One, and you don’t get that with the PS Backbone. If you’re going to use it mostly for PS Remote Play, I’d say get the PS Backbone. If you’re mainly going to use it for Game Pass, get the black Backbone One. Just my two cents.
Depends on the operating system of your phone. iPhone users can use the Backbone One (ie. the original black Backbone) with the official PS Remote Play app. But Android users need to have the Playstation Backbone (ie. the new white Backbone with USB-C) to use the official Remote Play app.

You could do this by streaming the game from your console to your phone via Xbox Remote Play, but the quality of the stream would depend on a lot of factors, like the quality of all the internet connections involved. If you’re able, I’d say try this first with a first party controller via Bluetooth before investing in the Backbone.
