Thank u for the story Mr. Ron Carter, behind only C. Mingus I consider you the greatest bassist of all time. I played your albulm all blues until it turned into dust.

Ron Carter held a workshop at the Atlanta Jazz Festival and I had the honor of attending and of shaking his hand, and afterwards attending his concert and it was one of the most awesome days of my life. You are my true music hero and the reason I started playing bass. Your playing is so uniquely different and beautiful. Thank you for being you, from a fellow Detroiter and Cass Techite.

Great story, Mr. Bellafonte took time to give back to the music community and others so that we can live to hear and enjoy the fruits of his investments.

Great story, Mr. Carter. I love Elvin Jones' music and intensity. I would love to hear if you ever felt there was any competition between bassists? Your talks are always so supportive and encouraging of each person finding the sound and way that is right for him/her. But, I'm wondering if there was much feeling of competing with other players. Keep speaking with your bass and voice.

Can't speak for anyone else but I have always found I can learn from other musicians - bassists and otherwise. For me it's not a competition.

I know youve already explained one on your vertical perspective. I guess I mean from a point of view of modal transitions modulating from different perpectives. diminished, augmented, major, minor. however you approach the plain. would be a help. and if i have to pay for it please direct me to where i need to go. thank you maestro.
