I had no idea about anything that Quo did, although I suspected they were a very together band. I've continued writing weird solo guitar songs, but I think a little bit of the Quo vibe rubbed off on me. Lovely people

Rick contradicts other versions of the reason John left, Rick always said he was playing card's with Alan when Ian Jones, the then tour manager told them John had gone home. They then went onto make their worst album

It was Alan who said he was playing backgammon with Rick and their tour manager said John had gone.

I have always speculated that one of the reasons John was unhappy was the quality of the songs being mooted for 1982 - they weren’t good. Baffling that 1982 reached No 1.

Rick loved his rhyming slang .. pork chop = cop … The Jeremy is “Jeremy Beadle = the needle . Meaning John would ‘cop the needle’ over certain things or ‘pork the Jeremy’ .. I had to ask him that & he told me

it's not "talkin to Jeremy" he said " pork the Jeremy" it's rhyming slang for ' cop the needle' as in pork chop =cop Jeremy beadle = needle. Hope that helps
