What a night. Had the absolute pleasure of venturing into Melton Mowbray, yes that of pork pie fame, and going to listen to a certain Francis Rossi play and chat to us. It still amazes me that its over fifty years since I first bopped away to Pictures of Matchstick Men and here in 2023 still going at it like no-one else. We laughed at the tales. We clapped and sang along to the music. Semi-Acoustic Quo works for me. This man is 73 and still entertaining and playing new as well as old. Yes, he swears a great deal. Who cares. It felt like we were in his front room chatting and messing around like old friends. The format works and like everything he does it is very well crafted and rehearsed to perfection. That said, plenty of ad-libs and off-script comments driven by an adoring audience. What a great entertainer he is. What a quality musician. And so very ably supported last night by Andy Brook who was amazing on stage and played the part of sidesman so very well. If you get the chance to go and see then grab it with both hands. The perfect gift for every old Quo fan. A night with Francis! What more could you ever want...maybe an encore!!
I would 100% recommend this show to anyone, not just Quo fans. I went to the Meet and Greet and Mr. Rossi was kind enough to sign a charity guitar for me. What a lovely, lovely man he is, very friendly, very funny and the show was fantastic. EMF. X
Played this way with so much history behind each song. Sounds much nicer than the live acoustic albums with accordions etc. Reminds me of how we played these songs when we took our acoustic guitars away on our surfing camping weekends ❤
Saw him yesterday, what a genuinely nice person, If you Read this francis thank you for sharing your memories with us and we have in turn made some wonderful memories the who gig was fantastic your a great storyteller and meeting you was such a great experience and the evening is one that will stay with me for a long time to come, great music is timeless thank you very much best wishes to all
It's really nice for Francis to go back and play some of the Quo's more obscure material. April, spring, summer and Wednesdays is just the epitome of cool guitar riffs. It's simple chords played with effortless groove. It's just... sublime!!
My wife bought tickets for last night's show at Theatr Hafren, Newtown, but wouldn't tell me where we were going! It was a nice surprise, and a very enjoyable show. Francis is a natural raconteur, and with Andy in support, the songs sounded excellent, and of course the audience participated fully. As a learner guitarist in the late '70s, I played along to all the early Quo records, which helped my learning immensely. In fact the first solo I played in a covers band was "Paper Plane", and I did eventually learn the one from "Fine Fine Fine"! There must be many other guitar players who owe a debt of gratitude to the mighty Quo, so thanks Francis.
Went to see Francis Rossi last night at The Forum Theatre, Romiley. What a brilliant show!! It was an honour to spend the evening in the company of this music icon and true legend. Great music, chat and laughter - what more could you want? He was accompanied by Andy Brook, another great guitarist. Do yourself a favour and catch them on this tour while you can.
We were there when this was being filmed. I can see my dad in one clip. Was such an incredible night. Loved every minute of it!! Fingers crossed a dvd is released. Definitely need to go to another show!
Really enjoyed tunes and chat, the music was great and the chat was entertaining and funny. Going again in October. I think From a jack to a king would be a great addition to the set, the version on the CD with the songbook is gorgeous. Francis you can sing anything! x
Francis: Saw you on the chat tour in 2019 at Palace Theatre Newark. Great show. Meant to drop that bit of paper in the hat to ask if you remembered the guy who fixed your guitar in Peterborough in 92? That was me. Much water and many bridges (not burning) !!
How interesting! As I watched this video, I thought "people won't want to hear songs such as _From A Jack To A King",_ but then when the short clip played, it was pure Quo, and not just some bloke playing a cover version. I hope the tour goes well. I don't see any venues very close to me, unfortunately.
i think this works better than the unplugged .. seems more natural ...like the early days in a way . i do wish somone would sit down with francis like say rick beato or tim pearce and talk about those iconic solos .. how they were constructed his tone etc .you know rather than how much coke he sniffed n all that . there is so little analysis of quo compared to say the beatles .. lonely man is as good as anything the beatles ever did . you always read about every artist .oh so n so was under rated ..but rossi was truly under rated . yeah he couldnt do what albert lee , steve vai ,or van halen did but neither could they have done what francis did some of his solos are like symphonies .. melodic genius .

Thank you Francis for the music! Wish you all the best!❤
Francis Rossi in my heart forever with his music.
Good on you Francis. People love you, man.
The whole thing is way cool, more personal you get more insight into the person behind the playing, love it.
Love the acoustersonic
Enjoy the time and your success Francis. The enthusiasm of the audience proves you right with what you are doing. You are just great.
Seen them in the theatre Royal St Helens brilliant night 🎸👍

How long roughly was the show?
@@imogenperry6915 About two and a half hours, I think. 8pm start, two sessions, with one break, and no encore.

Really looking forward to seeing you in Bury St Edmunds, in good ol' sunny Suffolk in a couple of weeks.
I would love to hear him play "Running Bear"....🇧🇻🇧🇻

Hi Francis I subscribe you I can't wait to see you at towngate theatre basildon in September 2023 i see you there
Dvd indeed 4 hours+ ❤
I still wonder how much of Quos back calalogue could Francis perform without rehearsing?
Probably everything. Not drinking alcohol is his secret
Wonderful stuff, Frame is doing something really good here.
Hope he rediscovers some old ones for future Quo gigs too.
That assumes that there will be future Quo gigs. Quo are touring in Summer 2024 and after that... nothing.
Was a fantastic night in Tamworth
Nice , I think John Dankworth would have smiled
Wimborne Tivoli 1st night of the tour great night, just didn't last long enough.
I hope Francis Rossi play At Hull city Hall.
Watched the show last night. Great evening. Anyone know what guitars they are using?
Fender Acoustasonic telecasters
Running bear, yes please see you in Whitley bay & yarm.
See hasley
When is it Swedens time for ROSSI??
Det undrar jag också.
I wonder that to.
