I did a 30-video series about games in libraries in line with a summer course I was teaching at Syracuse University: th-cam.com/play/PLhyRBdPvcWK59kRYL5LMV_s2Sz00oL-ph.html
@@ScottNicholson Can I use the figure you introduced in Session 9? I found the original one online but TH-cam won't let me post a link to it. It's on ResearchGate's website. I will of course list you as the source for the figure.
I remember watching this video 13 years ago and making a list of games I was going to buy. What great memories and how amazing it is how much board games have changed in a decade and a half.
@@RetroMaticGamer Lol back again for year 16 ..... There's something about this video that keeps drawing me back. I think it's the nostalgic factor when games (and life) were simpler. I miss those times, And i miss Scotts reviews
Scott I'm sorry you decided to stop doing your videos. This video in particular illustrates just how well you can describe a game's mechanics in a brief period. I have all these games and lot, lot more. I have been collecting games since I was 12 years old, now I'm 38. So I have a few :) You did an amazing job of taking non-gamers into our world and giving them just enough information to allow them to explore this deep hobby. Love ya, miss ya, and hope you decide to come back someday.
Had to check this out, 17 years ago Scott opened my eyes to the woerld of Board Games. Wish he had continued the channel as he would have been bigger than the Dice Tower and many other channles that came after.
Not sure if the link will work but Scott did do an updated version of this video 2 years ago: facebook.com/professor.scott.nicholson/videos/1646027089033486/UzpfSTY2NTU5NTQ2ODpWSzozMzQ5MDI5MzA1MDQzODQ/
Hahaa 😂, this showed up on my recommendations. Right smack on TH-cam landing page. Well, welcome back Scott. Board Games with Scott is trending on TH-cam 😉
10 years later .... "Annnnnnnd we're back ..." (This video is a big reason i got into boardgames 10 years ago ... Was mentioning Scott in a boardgame comment on facebook so i figured i'd drop by again .... )
Wow. This was really helpful, thanks! I've played a number of those games, introduced to me by a gamer friend of mine and I felt that your descriptions were spot on. This showed me quite a few new games that I'll hope to be able to play sometime soon.
Hey Scott! Nice video! I'm very sorry you don't do videos anymore. This is a very nice video for people who are getting out of 'monopoly-type-of-games' and I would love to see you doing videos touching the basic games to have like Carcassone, Memoir44, Defenders of the realm and so on. Anyways, nice job!
Great hobby I share as well, although I lack your collection. I played a few of them you review, but during my youth I focused on the wargame sort of board game. I actually played "Space Hulk" and "Heroquest" when I was just 8 or so before jumping to Warhammer later on. Wonder if you know them. The main issue was finding buddies to play along with. Many feel really "too stupid" to understand and play heavier games, that bothered me my entire life.
One of the first videos on youtube. A true classic.
Scott Nicholson, helping me write my thesis on board games in libraries in 2021, with a video he made almost 20 years ago...

@@ScottNicholson Thanks! I'll see which parts of the series apply to my situation. I live in Finland.
