I bought Ken Templin course years ago. Works well. your approach/style of teaching is got some gems in it. So many ways to skin a cat. (Pun intended) Great stuff Brother.
Thanks Pete
Foreign wide, the largest help to the breathing portion of my singing was being in swimming period I actually took it up so that I could learn how to control my breath more effectively, and ended up setting a state record in the process, and I now have unbelievable breath control, which is absolutely fantastic.
Another added benefit is, if you haven't looked into it, that the mammalian diver reflects that is activated when your face hits cold water immediately activates your parasympathetic nervous system, calming you and dialating all of your blood vessels for more effective Circulation
learning that I had to release the tension that I've held & lived with for about 10 years to hide a beer gut, in order to sing properly, has given me the drive I need to lose the beer gut!
Great video Sterling! Thanks!
😊
Thank you again, Sterling!

Great video mate! 👌

wow, I didn't know I could hold that much air. I've been chest breathing most of my whole life apparently because that definitely feels new lol.
😊
I want to learn to sing better so bad but I just can’t seem to learn
You can do it. With daily practice you will eventually get it as long as you learn with an open mind and with intentionality. If you can at any point get a teacher, it's very recommended because the immediate feedback they can give will help you improve much faster and give you more direction. But I've mostly been learning by myself by watching TH-cam tutorials and reading books after a handful of leassons early on. I used to think I was just someone who could never truly learn to sing, and even though I'm still not *great*, I've gotten so much better than where I started by learning the basics of support, learning how to feel and develop different registers (chest voice, mixed voice, head voice), singing scales and various exercises, doing lip trills, etc.
Hello Sterling, curious to know how the monthly subscription of patreon (singer) is different from your youtube tutorials like this one here.
Lots of times I take my lesson videos further and extend them for Patreon but not always. I’ve been adding extra content as well as other exclusive things. Patreon is also a completely ad free experience and the financial support helps me to survive and keep making more content 😊.
Hello!
When i try to expand my ribcage horizontally, i feel a “fresh” and cold sensation, mostly in my mouth.
Is this common?
Is there any sensation that somebody who uses diaphragmatic breathing should have? Not including back and belly, if there is any other sensation.
This is confusing to understand through text
How important is it for the rib cage to expand horizontally? Feels like i can either expand the ribs at the back or breathe into the belly. Hard to do both at the same time
If you work on it you can expand both and actually operate them separately. It takes some practice. I couldn’t do it at first but after practicing every night lying down, I started getting it. Took about a week and a half.
@@SterlingRJackson Awesome will give it a go. Thanks
