    This is one of my favorite memories of childhood, going through Brigantine Castle (every summer) with my dad...no other haunted attraction I've been to has ever come close. I took my kids to Brigantine in later years to go to the beach, but also partly to take them somewhere that meant so much to me. And there is no other version of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor for me...

      @@cassidyparson3625 this is where reading comprehension comes in to play. She said SHE went to the castle. She then took her children to BRIGANTINE, because it meant so much to her as a child, she wanted to share the location with her own kids.
      Reading is fun once ya get the hang of it little buddy!

    I knew Castle actors Jay McGlaughlin and George Alder back in 79-80. Jay was crazy fun, great guy like a big brother. Sadly he died real young but Jay was always fun and always about having a good time. George was a witty and funny character, he rented a room from Jay's mom back then. I was young like 12-13 yrs old , perfect age. i had so much fun running around the pier every summer night. It was exciting, fun like everybody and their brothers and sisters were there every night, it was always packed.The whole layout of the pier was excellent and done professional. Walt's Castle Pizza (Friar Tucks) was the best, you could get a slice and a coke for $1.25. I'll never forget Satan's Banquet when you first walked in with Satan hovering above the table. And when the first time Dracula jumped out of the picture frame and said "Good Evening"! So many fun memories. It was a great time to grow up in Brigantine

    Great memories of a time since passed! I could remember actually staying in Brigantine New Jersey with my friend and his family in what must’ve been the early 80s and we went to Brigantine castle every night. I loved being a kid in the summer between third and fourth grade and being so excited to go there and it still remains one of my favorite vacations ever because of the castle/amusement park to this day…….

      @AriellaSurfgirl ปีที่แล้ว

      @@whtwolf333 I heard somewhere on another video idk how much truth is in it, that some of the props from brigantine were brought to Dracula’s castle? If you worked both can you verify this? You worked there before I did just a couple of years. But I figured you’d probably of recognized them. I remember when I was little Dracula’s castle used to have a wax museum on the other side in the 70s was no longer there when I worked there. My mother would never take me in the museum an old neighbor took me and my friend in castle Dracula when I was 5 I was terrified of it for years so every time brigantine came on tv or the radio it made it more scary. So the solution to that trauma was get a job there when I was 16 lol.

      @@AriellaSurfgirl Yes, it's true, although I worked at Cast Dracula the summer of 85 so they didn't quite have Brigantine's Props yet, Brigantine Castle burned down in 87, 2 years after it closed, Eric Princz worked with me and he continued at Castle Dracula after I left and he had brought them a lot of the Brigantine Props.

    Wildwood lost Castle Frankenstein and Castle Dracula, too. And Morey's haunted house. Frankenstein was open 1978-1982, and burned Aug 13, 1984, it was on Fun Pier, and Morey's haunted house was taken down after 1984 because of the Six Flags fire, state wanted sprinklers installed. But then Morey's goes and installs a second haunted house in 1985 or 1986 that is trailers like Six Flags was. It lasted until 1992 or so. It's now at an amusement park/zoo in Maine, York's Wild Kingdom.

    There are many creatures in Brigantine Castle. Big rats, small rats. Some are small, tiny, and some as large as a dog, but the largest is Ratus Brigantinus. It can eat a small child if it’s hungry enough. But there is a way to keep yourself safe. Just say this with me, “Ratsy Ratsy, dark and murky, please go bite some other turkey.”

      As much as I would love it, time is the enemy of the Castle, unfortunately people no longer fear, Vampires, Werewolves and the like. As the years went by, every haunt I've ever worked in went from the original monsters to chainsaw wielding clowns, alas this theme just doesn't fit in a haunted Castle. It's a shame because it was my favorite job, now 10 year olds, jump in your face and dare you to touch them so they can sue you!

    The rat hallway was my favorite. I would stop and watch other people freaking out, can't beat that, when they "felt" a fat brush by their legs. (they were short lengths of rubber hoses sticking out of the wall)

    It was the summer of 1976 I had just graduated from eighth grade in North Jersey Byram - from the graduation we went directly with the grandparents to their house in Brigantine. I saw that damn Castle go up and me my uncle and my grandfather were one of the first few people to go through the castle. My grandfather was ready to kill me for making him endure that experience. But one thing doesn't make sense-I heard on one of these documentaries that the Castle opened on memorial Day 1976. But that timeline doesn't make sense if I graduated from eighth grade in June, went directly to Brigantine and at that point the castle was far from being completed. So that timeline doesn't make sense at all - can anybody elaborate?

      I honestly couldn't tell you, all documentation says It was opened Memorial Day 1976, I started working there in 1979 and all the people that I knew that worked there from the very beginning say it was the beginning of summer season 1976 as well, so I can't confirm your recollections. Sorry!

      @@whtwolf333 Unless we graduated from eighth grade super early for some that year. But I can't think why in the world that would be. Glad someone cared enough to respond though.

      @@whtwolf333 unless the person or people who said it opened on memorial Day actually meant labor day because people often confuse the two holidays. But that would have meant that I was down the shore with my grandparents for quite a long stretch which I don't believe would have been the case but who knows.

      @@markfriedman5093 labor day was our closing date every year. Not saying you're wrong, just don't know why they would lie about it. Who knows, maybe you are correct. I wasn't there to say otherwise! Have a great day!

    Been to the castle several times. I would go in knowing the routine to watch the terror in the other peoples faces. So funny! sorry I was a rotten kid! also lived there when the pier was called "The Seahorse Pier" before it was known as Brigantine Castle

    I never visited, but the commercials terrified me as a kid.
    Seeing it as an adult, though...it looks kind of cheesy.

    Does anyone associated with the castle know if there were metal gargoyles on the amusement park grounds? I'm trying to verify if an iron gargoyle came from there. Please reply with any info! Thanks!

    • @whtwolf333
      @whtwolf333  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      James, There were many decorations around the pier, torches, suits of armor, etc. I personally don't remember any gargoyles outside the castle, there may have been a few inside the castle but, I doubt any made of metal, most of the interior decos were made of fiberglass. The one person that would know for sure is Eric Princz, he can be found on facebook or instagram.
