This was exactly how our Shiba behaved after neutered 3 months ago, still and not interested! And watching him with that cone for days just upsets him😢. Now he’s again back to his hyper ninja moves! Just like Nebula 🤗🤗❤️❤️

Hi there, my baby got spayed yesterday and she is refusing to drink water and some food. She finally had loose stool today and she vomited twice tonight. Is this normal? She had some new food to try that might upset her stomach or did painkiller make her nauseous? Thanks!
Yes, this is a reasonably common occurrence as far as we know. As you said, your pup was and is on some pretty intense drugs and it’s easy to get an upset tummy as a result. If you still have concerns in 12-24 more hours, give the vet a call to be certain!
Wow, Neb looks exactly like our Shiba, Sylvie! I'm taking her in to get spayed in a couple weeks, at six months. How old was Neb when you took her in? I hear conflicting opinions on the right time to spay...
Neb was a full 6 months old but had not had her first heat at that time. Our vet recommends not spaying before 6 months of age and therefore wouldn’t do it any sooner but there is a ton of different information out there on when you can do it
My female dog has a little itching problem how will i manage As if she itch herself the stitches will open up and it will be hard Pls give a solution to this🙏🏻
I have the same dog and we just went Thur the same thing. Jan 29 21 he didn’t do good with the cone thing so we got him a onesie 😄also see your in Ohio also I’m in Cleveland
The cone is such a challenge! We were going to try a onesie but the one we bought didn’t fit and at that point we were already halfway through the recovery
Yea we got 24 months size at first was to big and I went to go get 18 month and that fit good. Good your ShibaInu recovered great how old was your dog when you got the surgery done mine 1 year and 4 months old

Did you get pain meds for her after bringing her home? My pups getting spayed in two days
Yes, absolutely! There were a few medicines the first couple days and the pain medicine was a longer course.
Did you wait till after their first heat to get your Shiba Inu spayed?
We did not. We waited until 6 months of age as opposed to 4 months old but she did not have a heat prior to the surgery.

This is what the cone is for. If your dog is continung to nip the incision site after a few days you should consult your vet.

@@ambrosebrunner4446 Nebula was spayed at 6 months, we got her at 8 weeks (which feels so so long ago now)
Did you take her out for potty or let her do it in the crate?
Nebula has luckily refused to go indoors since she was about 11 weeks old, so we had to take her out a few times a day. It was pretty stressful!
How old was Nebula when you spayed her?
she was a few weeks past her 6 month birthday!
