    I moved from a small town in Illinois I've been at in the 22 years of my life, I moved to the twin cities a few months ago and I love it here. They have soooo many career opportunities here and it's really affordable, there's so many apartments being built right now and its easy to get around, also I love how healthy it is here. Everyone's outside walking their dogs or jogging or riding bikes. Underrated gem and nobody talks about it. You can really make something of yourself here.

      @Erin Jenkins-DuBose Oh yeah places like that wasn’t on my list, I don’t wanna move somewhere where it’s natural disaster bound, other than like snow storms here we might get a tornado or flood. No hurricanes, earthquakes, forest fires I don’t think, plus the air here omg a breath of fresh air is just so different all that H20 really makes it fresh. It was easy for me to find work here as well it’s soooo many jobs and training programs I was struggling figuring out what I’d do for the rest of my life now I’m in a program training to be a electrician without paying a dime.

    Hey there, thank you so much for posting this. I’m considering relocating to Minneapolis from California, and I found your video very helpful. Public transportation is a must for me as I am blind, and have a 13-year-old black lab mix guide dog named Mozart. I’ve always wanted to live somewhere where I truly have four seasons, some good spots for downhill skiing, a white Christmas, good public transit, friendly/welcoming people, lots of water to swim/have fun in the summer and green/clean air. So yeah, thank you so very much!

      Wait, how in the world are you downhill skiing if you’re blind? Is this a troll post?

      @ordnyl 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jamesandersonwalshYou realize being legally blind doesn’t mean complete blindness, right? Even totally blind people can ski with the help of sighted guides.

    I was born in Anoka, MN and currently live just outside of Denver. Everything you said I agree with 100%!! I always have such a hard time explaining to my MN friends that our snow in Colorado just doesn't stay lol. In the 13 years I have lived in CO, I have seen multiple times where we get 12-18 inches of snow and it is completely melted and the roads are DRY within 24 hours. This just happened a few weeks ago. It was 89 degrees one day, we got 15 inches of snow the next day, and within 24 hours all of the snow was gone and we were back up to 75 degrees! Some people love this, but I find it so weird. We hardly ever have to shovel our driveway, though, because it just melts! Lol.

      Yeah, I have family that lives in Colorado, and it's because it's closer to the sun, so the snow melt and also Denver and Colorado in general is very dry and besides the mountain parts it's all desert and has very mild climate.

    Having lived in both cities, this is a solid video. The one thing you didn’t cover that I think is very important are the airports. While DIA has more direct flights, it is much busier and difficult to navigate than MSP.

    • @ToTheTwinCities
      @ToTheTwinCities  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s a super good point! Should have covered it! MSP is a breeze compared to DIA!

    • @sathingtonwilloughby-kf3bh
      @sathingtonwilloughby-kf3bh ปีที่แล้ว

      How? MSP gates are completely disconnected, leading to more missed flights for those trying to utilize the airport for connecting flight/international travel.. DIA has more TSA lanes and has a highly efficient tram system between gates, so yet again MPLS finds themselves superior for no real reason.

    Crushed the video as always! I am Going on year two in Minneapolis after moving from the Denver Area. After being born and raised across Colorado and spending summers in Minnesota, I have slowly realized why my entire family has moved back over the years. I'm moving back briefly to finish school in Colorado, but my partner and I are looking into buying our first home in Northeast Minneapolis. Denver is awesome in its own right and has been a great time to visit, but the cost is getting hard to justify living there. The Twin Cities are definetly an option worth considering for anyone looking at moving to Denver.

    One way to relate the various metro communities or cities in the twin cities is to recognize that Edina is not just right next to Minneapolis, it's across the street where they touch. And that's true for most of the various cities in the metroplex.

    You are correct, snow doesn’t “stick around” in the Denver area. I just moved from there to the twin cities area and it’s definitely different. The snow piling up where I’m at now is not what I’m used to.

      Agreed! That was a big surprise to me the first time I went to Denver. A snow day there more like a rain day here. Haha

    I wish you would have covered what the culture of people is like more, you touched on an overall lack of diversity compared to other places but I would appreciate to hear what sorts of people and vibes there are in each place. I am from Minnesota, went to college in Arizona, and considering moving to CA or CO! I love all places so much and could research them for days! Thanks for what you do!

    Great video! Technically, Minnesota does have mountains, but just barely.
    So, I've lived in both... I love the Rocky Mountains... I ride my motorcycle out there almost annually. But the general immediate beauty is better in my opinion in the Twin Cities vs Denver when considering water and vegetation and visual interest. I agree the traffic is much easier in TCs. I think the weather in Denver is pretty unbeatable... But the air quality is better in Minneapolis. Affordability is a huge deal. I just think the day to day quality of life is better in MN. CO is great for vacation once in a while, but I'm always happy to return home.

    I lived in both, Denver for 5 years (and Boulder a few years before that) and MSP for about 7. So yeah, I left Denver admittedly like 7 years ago and it's possible a lot changed, so take this with a grain of salt. I was just out of college and the struggle was real man, I tried for almost 8 months to find a job. I moved to Minneapolis because I had family here and had a job in TWO WEEKS.
    Again, it's possible it has changed since then, but I wouldn't gloss over their economies. Denver is competitive as hell because half of California tried to move there when they legalized weed. And I was looking for a basic tech/programmer job. Now that I'm established, maybe it'd be easier but... I didn't have any success beginning a career there.
    Also I felt Denver is way overpriced for what it is. And to end my rant, Boulder is the most low-key racist, terrible place I've ever lived lol.
    My only hate for MSP is the weather, but as everyone says, it probably keeps the bad apples out, but it feels much more stable economically.

    Love your videos but since I usually watch on the tv I don't ever comment. They are so well done, especially your drone footage. We've been in Denver since '05 (from Tampa) and can't wait to get out of here. It's gotten so expensive that housing (and renting) is almost unattainable. When we came here you could easily find homes for $200,00 ......now not even a town home isn't available in that price range. We are coming to Minneapolis in September and plan on looking at some homes to see what our budget would get us.
    Also your video is pretty spot on. Snow only stays around for a day or 2 here in the city. And when it does snow the city leaves it on the snow (to melt) but in the meantime there's accidents everywhere because of it. The traffic is horrible (I guess since 25 and 70 are about the only 2 choices) The airport is a pain to navigate due to the size. And it takes at least an hour and a half to get to the mountains without weekend traffic at least from the east side of town. I really can't wait to Denver and will definitely get with you when we are ready to seriously look for a home.

    Hey Jesse, I appreciate your videos on Minnesota and have considered moving there, but I don't think I can handle 6 months worth of snow. I see that you split time between there and Denver ... do you also sell real estate in Denver, or have a Denver TH-cam channel?

    I moved to Minneapolis from Denver for work and my humble opinion I would say Denver wins. If I could live the summers out in Minneapolis and live the lake life on lake Minnetonka and the winters out in Denver and go snowboarding and stuff all the time that would be perfect.

    Science correction:
    People don't get a sunburn because they are closer to the Sun due to mountains. Does not work like that. LMFAO 🤣😆😅

    • @ordnyl
      @ordnyl หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know the rationale isn't quite accurate, but it doesn't take away from the fact that you're more likely to get sunburned at higher altitudes. This happens because, as altitude increases, the atmosphere becomes thinner, which means there is less air to block or absorb UV radiation from the sun.
