The man himself! Amazing work you've done and can't wait to hear the new album! If you're ever up for joining me for an interview on my channel, I'd love to have you on! Just email me at jesse@syncmymusic.com 👍
Fabulous video explaining WHY the cue is marketable and HOW the composer made it marketable. I would love to see the same thing done for CORPORATE and for LIGHT TENSION. Thanks so much for this series.
Another thing I noticed at the end was he boosted the drum fills. Seems there was more excitement with the drums themselves as well as the guitar lead.
I was very excited to see that you were going to focus on "Swagger Rock" in your new series because I just finished a new album that caters to that genre. I will send it over to "Pro Feedback" & "Feedback Corner" for critique. Thank you for continuing to research and give us useful information.
Already loving this series! I'd really appreciate an episode on a Pop track. Pop seems to be in high demand, but, at least for me, it's always a fine line to walk to not dive too much into Hip Hop or House and end up with a track in those genres 😅
Great analysis Jesse, thank you! 2 things: firstly, there is so much swagger rock in libraries now, do you think there's any point in making any more? Secondly, would love to hear you analyse some indie pop!
@@TheoYoungMusic hey Theo, you know I really can't remember but we probably went through a few rounds of revisions. I'm pretty sure we did things back to front with this in that we got randomly creative with ugly guitar sounds and big drums and then had to retroactively fit into our templates to stem it out! Not advised but sometimes you just wanna make noise! Thats where the cool riffs come from!
Good stuff, man! Very helpful. I'd love to see a breakdown of a blues rock track. I've been hearing a lot of Black Keys/Rival Sons sounding stuff lately. Though I guess that could be classified as Swagger Rock/Stomp Rock...
There’s so much of this stuff and it’s all basically the same. Black Keys style stomp clap whoa ohh blues riff..mechanics garage or a phone company ad. It does its job very well, it’s exactly what the client wants. But how could there possibly be a need for any more? Must be 20,000 library Tracks exactly like this
@@ianscreamsvideo if you make GREAT swagger rock music, there’s a need for it. Most swagger tracks aren’t in this quality. But dont do this genre unless it’s in your blood already.
@@SyncMyMusic I know there’s a need for it..but is there a need for more of it..when it’s already available in every library. And each track can be used a million times..Over saturated market. It’s not like a limited supply of apples.
@@ianscreamsvideo by that argument, there’s already “too much” of every genre in production music. We’ve got a lot of large catalogues that serve this business. So you don’t need any additional reasons not to get started in this business. Plenty of other places to go with your music 👍
Any thoughts on the potential of EDM/House/Techno in placement? Would love a breakdown of a successful hybrid orchestral track. (I've got wide tastes!)
I hear so much of it on so many different formats, especially the famous classical composers , that’s what I am concentrating on . Famous songs by Bach, Beethoven and that crew. @@SyncMyMusic
You can care about making money AND making quality music that's marketable. These aren't mutually exclusive. Also, you should probably unsubscribe if this kind of content isn't useful for you.
21:53 I wouldn't exactly say there aren't a lot of things happening - just listen to anything that's not guitar, bass, or drums - there's a sea of effected sounds in there and I'm sure if you'd open up this session, one would see that. Sure, the main elements are the most important ones, but the additional sounds play a huge role in these productions!
The one thing I don't get is how the payment is calculated? Let's say some grocery store manager (no disrespect) want my song for his promotion and he is willing to pay 50$...and the library says ok, then James Cameron comes looking for the soundtrack for his new movie Titanik 2 Rising... I don't believe he pays the same 50$...
It's all negotiable based on the client's budget and needs. And just FYI no major directors are ever going to come to a Library to score their film (they hire a composer for that). For the occasional source cue, sure we get those.
Thanks for the shout out, Jesse! Was great to do and Swagger Rock 2 will be landing soon from Brand X.

This type of stuff sells A LOT. Blues/trailer type of thing, sells way more than people think.

Great point!
Those drums are hitting hard!
Great idea for a series. I’d like to see an episode which covers vocal hip hop/trap which would be useful for sports or brands :)
I would like to hear some good tention cues. They seem to get placed alot.

Could you cover dramatic tension?
Dance Pop with vocals or some housey instrumental tracks would be cool!

@@TheoYoungMusic yes to swagger IF you do it well and if you can incorporate new elements or vocals.
We're on the second album now, so I would say yeah!

Yeah I'd say this track is a good representation of where you can go with blues rock in Sync.
Some solo piano stuff, or some orchestral music would be cool to see.
Thank you.! What music scale is Swagger rock mostly made in.?
@@sounds_of_ferec6677 not sure if there’s a standard key.
Mostly minor pentatonic

Those stomps and claps sound huge. Getting the beat and or drums/percussion to sound big is my issue.

EDM gets plenty of placements. House and Techno, less so. Thanks for the genre suggestion!
Pretty sure this was used on the 'Wynonna Earp - Vengeance' TV special. Hard to imagine doing this style any better. Definite Native American roots.
I would imagine this cue has been used in a TON of placements. Glad you enjoyed it!

Be gretto see how forms of metal are successfully used in sync
quick question:
Is 44.1 a no no in today's music licensing market?
Usually you'll want to deliver 48K WAV files, but always check with your Library!
@@SyncMyMusic thought so, thanks
The real reason is that film is typically 24fps, and 48kHz is easy to synchronize with 24 frames per second.
I think i heard this song on Netflix actually.
I think i know where. Most likely Suits.
Solo Piano music Please
