Percy, who has dyslexia, is surprised to discover that he is a demigod. When he is accused of stealing Zeus's lightning bolt, he sets off to find it and settle a fight between the gods.
0:46 Thats actually exactly what dragons are known for in Eastern traditions. You being British would be more aware of the Western concept of slaying dragons and dragons being villainous. But in the East, dragons are benevolent and helpful and are signs of good fortune.
Loved this movie and great reaction as always Seb. 😊
I read that as "erections" and was like wth 😂 had to write it . 😅
Another way to put it is that eastern dragons aren't mere beasts, but are more like demigods, many of whom are like avatars of various elements or places.
Literally wanted to post this. Like dragons exist in places other than the West lol
yup...Happy Chinese New Year! And Happy Year of The Wood Dragon!
id say the British are smack bang in the middle. neither west or east haha, that how it looks on the map
28:43 the way the kid went like that to her is my favorite moment. It’s as if he went to his mother or sister. It just looks like she is part of his family 😅
Yeah well, at this point she kinda was the closest person he had.
Fun fact! In Asia Tuk Tuks are real things. It’s a mode of transportation. They look different in each culture but in mine (Cambodian) they are typically bicycles/motorized bicycles attached to passenger “baskets” so to say. Look it up if you’re curious but I LOVE that subtle nod to something in Asian culture yet “Disney’d” in a way as a little side companion!
I love this movies so much. It doesn't get enough recognition. It was predictable but still fun.
I think it's underrated due to the criticism it got (the message and the non-specific SEA location), as well as not being a musical and the 59th Disney film. Plus it had a Spring slot instead of Disney's usual November slot and COVID had a big impact.
Would’ve been better as a tv series, but then it feels too much like avatar
it's not that good, the main comic relief character is just annoying and the plot is very stupid
SEB PLEASE WATCH RANGO🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hell yes!!🔥🔥
Seb would love Rango.
This
YES
I agree!
You should watch Treasure planet ! Thats might be one of the most underrated masterpiece Disney has ever made !
Treasure Planet is a great movie! A hidden gem, so underrated! I would love to see the reaction on this channel.
Faaaacts!!
I would die. I've asked before, and I ask every single channel 😭 Also Jack with Robin Williams ! It's on Disney Plus even and EVERYONE sleeps on it 😢
looks like they used the character model for Shan Yu from Mulan and made him friendlier looking haha 19:50
Yep, he came into my mind immediately.
the fact that this video is up during Chinese New Year AND on the year of the Wood Dragon is nice.
Wish Dragon on Netflix is so underrated and a must watch.
he watched that

2:23 Funnily enough the voice actor will be playing Zuko’s FATHER Ozai in the live action avatar. 😂
he also played some episodic characters in ATLA and LoK
Dragons, in Asian mythology are more known to bring luck and are tied to drifferent elements.
I for instance is born in the year of Dragon and my element is fire.
In western mythology the dragons are fierce and depicted as enemies.
Since you mentioned Awkwafina being in Shang Chi, the guy who voices Tong is Benedict Wong the same guy who plays Wong from Doctor Strange who also had a small part in Shang Chi. Funny, first Wong then Tong, what's the name of his next character, Fong? Yong? Zong?
In Thailand and Guatemala they have cars that are called Tuk Tuks!
Actually Namaari, really loved and admired Sisu and in the end scene Sisu convinced her to fight together. It's Raya who couldn't trust her and interfere if not Raya, Sisu wouldn't get an arrow. It's all about trust. Love this movie, happy u made reaction for that ❤
Yeah, because Namaari used Raya when those 2 are kids to get Dragon Gem because Fang blind with greedy. What Raya did was self defense. Yet Namaari used trust to get all pieces of dragon gem for Fang.
no cause the amount of tears i shed during this film was ridiculous they had me bawling at the end
That guy you said reminded you of other Disney characters…he reminded me of one of the guys at the Tavern in Tangled.😂
This world needs dragons like NOW! I am so tired of my giving nature being abused by everyone. Happy New Year!
You're not the only one who cry at the dad turning into stone.I too thought can handle this movie without tears but miserably failed.
This movie is so underrated. I truly loved it.
"NO! IM NOT LONELY."
seb : his eye seems lonely
LMAOO
I loved this film a lot, one of my favorite new Disney films. It seemed to be a bit underrated at the time it came out, but it was one of their best IMO. I loved the hairstyles of the Fang chief and her daughter, even though they were the antagonists, so I cut my hair like that and have kept it ever since. :)
I just love love love this movie. Very underrated. Thanks for reacting to this one ❤
I hate how underrated this movie is compared to all the new disney crap.
This is mid though, being better than the recent crap (Wish, Strange World) doesn't make it better. The conflict and message is way underdeveloped.
SEB PLEASE WATCH RANGO 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
how many times did u comment this on the same video?
22:03 All dragons can "fly" when it's raining. They need the water in the air to using the drops as stepping stones through the air. She received the power to bring the rain from the dragon gem piece.
Just a little fact: In Asia, dragons are usually associated with water and its said that they even reside in underwater palaces
Also i liked the movie, but I think the message at the end was horribly rushed and was botched that way
Also I could never trust Namaari again after what she did, I hate her 😅
RANGO YES
I really wish this was a musical--and that the location was more specific (I always saw Raya as Vietnamese) and the message was less muddled.
Ok so I watched your Madagascar video and you kept saying zoo’s are prisons, They aren’t prisons, the whole point of zoo’s are too help animals if they got hurt in the wild and try to release them into the wild and if they can’t release them into the wild, then they keep them and give them a healthy environment, their main way of profit is bringing people to their park to look at cool animals
I don't know how it's in America, but in Europe almost all Zoo animals are bred or captured...
Edit: Spelling mistake
@@NovelPhoinixTheSecond ok I understand, but a lot of the reason they are captured and bred is because they are endangered, and they need to make more of their species to get off the endangered species list.
Hey Seb I really wanna recommend Spirit stallion of the Cimarron. I know it is a horse movie but I am not a horse type but love this movie. Awesome soundtrack, emotional story and it reminds you of a Disney movie 😊
This movie, Encanto, Coco are my fav recent animated movies. They're all so incredible
You need to watch bridge to terabithia its amazing!
That is literally one of my favourite movies my friend made me watch and I loved it I even watched it again in my house
19:50 He looks like the guy with the hook in Tangled :D at least to me
I love this guy man, such a genuine dude, keep the grind going
this movie is so underrated wow! I love this one!
#KuboandtheTwoStrings next!! 🔥🔥🔥
Kubo is SOOOO GOOD....
Not sure if anyone else commented this but the reason why Raya is just as responsible for killing Sisu as Nemari was because she used her sword to push the crossbow in a way that would make Nemari shoot. Good reaction overall. :3
saw this and SPRINTED Seb's uploads are goatedd
6:13 That's kris or keris, a traditional weapon from Indonesia. The earliest known kris go back to the tenth century and most probably spread from the island of Java, Indonesia throughout South-East Asia 🔥
did you recognize Wong at the end? xD
9:19 Yup, that’s Awkwafina. She portrayed Katy Chen.
9:50 lol hahahahahahaha!!!!!!
11:53 We also have Sersi (or in this case Minn-Erva).
19:28 and that’s Wong.
23:02 lol hahahahahahaha!!!!!! Also, their faces, especially Tong’s, is an accurate reaction.
finally, someone knew it was Wong from marvel lmao
Okay rewatching the movie through this… it’s actually very good
When America makes movies about Europe, we tend to focus on the parts of Europe that Americans come from, but we tend to overlook some of the more recent places large numbers of Americans come from (e.g. Poland).
This gets inverted when it comes to Africa. We tend to focus on the parts of Africa other than the parts Americans come from (West/Central Africa).
With Asia, it is similar. The Far East is where the early big populations came from (Chinese and Japanese). Thus, any American movie set in Asia invariably involves the Far East, even though later, we got lots of immigrants from Southeast Asia (e.g. Vietnam, Philippines, etc).
This movie was an attempt to rectify that. Disney no doubt consulted with a lot of Southeast Asians in making this, but a lot of Southeast Asians complained about how representation was handled.
🇵🇭 ✌🏼😅 Ah, Raya and the Last Dragon - the Disney animated film which got me excited and proud to be a Filipino and a Southeast Asian in 2020, because it is a film marketed, advertised and promoted internationally and here in Southeast Asia as inspired and influenced by our Pre-Westernized, mostly animistic, shamanistic, indigenous and Hindu-Buddhist, Southeast Asian cultures, folklores, myths, legends, histories, peoples, architectures, arts, crafts, designs, cuisines, beliefs, religions, customs, traditions, heritages, martial arts, weaponry and armory, geography, environments, landscapes, and the commonality shared throughout the region on the respect, reverence, veneration, adoration and even worship of and towards dragons or specifically nagas, naginis, nagarajas, and other dragon-like, fish-like, serpent-like, lizard-like and/or crocodile-like beasts of the sky, rain, water, river, stream and/or sea, especially during pre-Westernization and pre-Islamicization of Southeast Asia, but it's a film with a few voice actors of Southeast Asian backgrounds, a film that's highly fictionalized into its own world or universe and its land of Kumandra, a film that's also inspired and influenced by other things that are non-Southeast Asian, and as a result, it's a film that is already unrecognizably Southeast Asian, especially to most non-Southeast Asians and people of non-Southeast Asian backgrounds beyond Southeast Asia who doesn't have any clue of what even is Southeast Asia to begin with, and on where Southeast Asia is in Asia and what nations or countries belong to this region or subregion of Asia, or if Raya and the Last Dragon is or is just Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese or generally East Asian (while also not knowing that Mongolia is also in East Asia and that East Asia isn't all of Asia nor even all of the "Far East"), because it is just inspired and influenced from it and by it, and because the inspirations and influences are mostly blended together throughout the fictional land of Kumandra, for good and understandable reasons for the protagonists and antagonists not be and not to have been inspired and influenced by a specific subregion or a specific nation in Southeast Asia, but to the point that only Southeast Asians and people of Southeast Asian backgrounds in diaspora beyond Southeast Asia can and are able to recognize, identify and distinguish them as Southeast Asian and as to which more specific subregion or more specific nation in Southeast Asia they are inspired and influenced from and by.
By the way, here are the nations or countries of Southeast Asia from which Raya and the Last Dragon was marketed, advertised and promoted internationally and here in Southeast Asia as inspired and influenced from and by:
Mainland/Continental/Peninsular Southeast Asian Subregion
- Myanmar (Burma) (mostly on the mainland, continent or landmass of Asia itself but with its southern part on the northern part of the Malay Peninsula, which is the southernmost part of the continent or landmass of Asia or of the latter's mainland)
- Thailand (mostly on the mainland, continent or landmass of Asia itself but with its southern part on the the northern to central parts of the Malay Peninsula)
- Cambodia
- Laos
- Vietnam
- sometimes also includes Malaysia, specifically West Malaysia or Peninsular Malaysia, the western half of Malaysia mostly on the mainland, continent or landmass of Asia itself or more specifically on the central to southern parts of the Malay Peninsula
Maritime/Archipelagic/Insular/Island/Oceanic Southeast Asian Subregion
- Malaysia (or sometimes just East Malaysia or Bornean Malaysia, the eastern half of Malaysia mostly on the island of Borneo, which the latter is also shared with Brunei and some of Indonesia's provinces)
- Singapore
- Philippines
- Brunei
- Indonesia (Sometimes geographically and biogeographically, its eastern provinces are grouped with the region or continent of Oceania, the continent or landmass of Australia, or the subregion of Melanesia and/or the subregion of Australia or Australasia of the region or continent of Oceania, together with Australia, Papua New Guinea, other Melanesian nations or countries and territories or dependencies, New Zealand, and/or other nations or countries and territories or dependencies of the other Pacific Islands and Pacific Island or Oceanian/Oceanic regions or subregions of Micronesia and Polynesia.)
- East Timor / Timor-Leste (All of the other nations or countries of Southeast Asia are official member states of the ASEAN or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, while East Timor or Timor-Leste is yet an observer state. Also sometimes geographically and biogeographically like the eastern provinces of Indonesia, it's grouped with the region or continent of Oceania, the continent or landmass of Australia, or the subregion of Melanesia and/or the subregion of Australia or Australasia of the region or continent of Oceania, together with Australia, Papua New Guinea, other Melanesian nations or countries and territories or dependencies, New Zealand, and/or other nations or countries and territories or dependencies of the other Pacific Islands and Pacific Island or Oceanian/Oceanic regions or subregions of Micronesia and Polynesia.)

YES RANGO‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
I don’t usually comment but OMG YESSS THANKS FOR THIS REACTION. Still waiting for your Don’t Look Up reaction tho.
Finally!!! I absolutely love this movie!
27:00 actually, rayadas the one who made that the dragon get killed. she was not going to shot but raya didn't believe in her and scare her with the knife, that's when as a reflex she shots the arrows and kills the dragon
raya is*
This movie is so underrated . I loved it. Loved the animation and cultural meaning.
Honestly my only issue with this film is the message gets a little muddled over making conflict. The whole "trust and believe in people" message feels a little off when literally every time she does things go bad, the entire movie is based off people abusing the trust.
"oh but its about building actual trust vs blind trust" oh ok then the message becomes "don't trust people until things get so bad the world is about to end and you have nothing left to lose" :/ it just gets a bit muddled with the way they present the overall story.
Seb you should watch Whiplash I think you would really enjoy it
This is freaky. I decided to randomly watch this last night, then he uploads this…”Hey what’s up you guys, yes.” 🙌🏼
27:55 to 27:58 No! You listen to me! Sisu's death is not Raya's fault! What Raya did is self defense! The only one person who murder Sisu is your fault because you only care for Fang and obsessing with dragon! I say Sisu's death was your fault, Namaari! You used "trust" as your advantage to steal the pieces of the dragon gem! So don't give me that excuse. It is your fault!😡
yeah it is odd that the dragons didn't come back the first, but they did the second time
You gotta watch RANGO
This movie is so underrated!!
7 minutes in, Seb crying already, is that a record?
Please watch Maya and the three!! So good mini serie🎉 If you liked this movie you will like this one too!!
I would say Raya also was the blame for Sisu’s death. Yes, Namari had her finger on the trigger, but if Raya didnt threw her sword, maybe she wouldn’t have pulled🤔
Nice reaction as always. Also pls watch Advetures of Tintin
When i first saw young Raya in the trailer i thought it was Katara and man that wouldve been awesome.
Oh the dad voice actor actually did a character in Avatar Last Airbender- General Fong.
I do wish they explained why the dragons didnt recover in the first place but im guessing because the druun are more created from humans, the humans had to fix the problem.
Mitchels vs the Machines Plssss
24:40 because once they do, who are they gonna blame for everything that's happened?
I need a commentary on Saltburn
I also love this film. Some criticize the film's message. They say it's too unreal for us. But Sab here said it right: how much faith!! It is literally a biblical moral. As a Christian I recognize
Seb watch bullet train pleaseeeee it’s such a good film🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yep - you called it. 🐈🐈🐈🐈 love your commentary so far!
Please watch the new hunger games: Ballad of songbirds and snakes! it doesnt have to be a first reaction if youve seen it before! :))))

This movie is amazing and I will fight anyone who says otherwise in a semi-classy debate
Please check out "Luca", it's the only other modern Disney film I've seen that I've enjoyed since Wreck-It-Ralph 💯
Seb! I just heard there's gonna be a raya and the last dragon 2! THERES GONNA BE A TRILOGY AFTER 2 YEARS!!!!!
Imagine dragons came to life here... you should watch a movie called Reign of Fire
this is one of my favorite animation movies for sure since I first watched It I've watched it so much I haven't watched it in a month or two tho so this was the first time I've watched it since the year started but deffo a solid film for sure I love everything abt this film from what its about to the premise an a lot more
Love this movie so much, thanks for reacting, Seb!
The story of this movie annoys me sooooo much because it's supposed to be trying to teach trust but EVERYONE is ready to stab you in the back. Hell even when Raya gave Namari the gems and turned to stone, that back stabber WAS STILL about to bail. The movie has some cool graphics and beautiful scenery but god DAMN is the plot contradicting as fuck.
I like the movie but it's not great imo.

25:49 I have always hated that Namari did this. I guess I don't understand her motivation. What does she think is gonna happen? She was gonna get all the gems and Sisu? Like, no.
26:07 And if Raya hadn't done that. If she hadn't knocked the crossbow with the sword, Namari would've stopped. I'm sure of it. Both girls messed up here.
I watch this with my cousin it’s her fav movie!! Also are you going to finish the hazbin hotel series?
